A. Bees to see - OPEN
- [Guren feels as though he's been going a little easy on the quests lately. It's time to fix that. He's antsy, he's got an empty jar in one hand and his other on his sword, and he holds it up to anyone who might pass him by.]
Have you bothered getting any honey yet? You can come with me.
[And with that simple line, they're off! Unless your character has any resistance, of course, but assuming they don't, Guren leads them right into the forest.]
I wouldn't be surprised if these things were huge and mutated, so let's be prepared for that.
B. Wildcard - OPEN
- [If you want to hit Guren up for a different quest, even if he's a red, feel free! Try to ruin his day? Just see what he's up to? This is my generic space to say anyone can tag me even if I didn't plot things with them, so feel free, or hit me up at

I told you I don't use weapons like that. [This is just to be a butt. His arm lifts, and he points across the room behind Guren. Supported simply by two nails in the wall, the jagged stone arrowhead dagger from the island is displayed.] I would just make one at the blacksmith if I had the materials.
I attempted to bring my grandfather's sword from the cave, but I wasn't able. I assume it was considered monumental, and I had already excavated Batcow.
I have shuriken and this. [He lifts the bow from by the dresser and shoulders it.] It's enough.

Guren reaches into his jacket, and pulls out a knife easily. He holds it out to Damian in offering.]
You sure? I still have extras.
no subject
Tt.
[His eyes drop to the knife when it comes from within the jacket. He glances up at Guren's face, suspicious, and then at the knife again. Carefully, he reaches out and takes it, testing the weight of it in his palm. There's some flourish when he tests how it handles, but it seems like he knows what he's doing.]
Why are you so worried? I thought you were all about being there to protect everyone else, even me.
no subject
[He's so full of it, and he knows better than to expect anyone to believe him, but he still plays like this for his pride. Ridiculous. It's a perfectly normal knife, good size and weight, and Guren leaves that with him as he turns, heading back towards the exit.]
Besides, I'm not always going to be around. [Hmm!! His back is to Damian, but he's waving his hand in the air like it's not a weird thing to bring up.] You should be well equipped to protect yourself. If you're going with range, you should always have an option to defend yourself up close, too.
no subject
Don't think he isn't paying attention to that "I'm not always going to be around" which doesn't at all help what Crowley had told him, you fuck!!!]
Bold of you to assume I couldn't kill someone with my bare hands.
[At least, bold to assume he wouldn't try. The knife is spun and then slipped into the band of the cloth belt at the side of his back. He follows after Guren until they get back to the little kitchenette area.
Moving the apple and flipping the note, Damian uses the pilfered charcoal pencil to write a note for Jon:
Fairy hunting. If I do not return alive, Guren Ichinose should be charged with felony child endangerment and involuntary manslaughter. Clean up your mess.
D
And he puts the apple back on the edge of the note to keep it there. Hm. Bow and arrows, knife, compass--which he knows probably won't function properly... Okay, he's ready.] Let's go.
no subject
That note also gets a Look.]
Keep being a little snot and it's going to become very voluntary manslaughter.
[Also, he's tried the compass himself, it spins wildly and he hates it, but he won't bother telling Damian that right now. Instead, he turns to head for the door, back to being silent about it all. He's got a lot on his mind lately, but Damian being so... bothered is another level to it all. He really wishes he could control Crowley a bit better. Then he wouldn't be worrying everyone like this with unnecessary information.
But, he's very ready to get back to the rest of town the same way he came over in the first place.]
no subject
Best hope you're not tried for second-degree. [Somewhere in an alternate universe, the Damian in robowest is currently being shot between the eyes by the host. rip] Since I'm a minor, you'll probably get life imprisonment. Unfortunately, there's no justice system here, so they'll simply kill you.
Ironically, my father will likely be the one to save you from your fate regardless of whether or not everyone comes back from the dead.
[He goes out with Guren, feeling smug, though it's short lived when he realizes crossing back over is on the raft. Of course, he doesn't at all trust Guren not to pull the same stunt, or something similar. Damian may sometimes be a fool when he's blinded by arrogance, but he learns his lessons.]
Get on.
no subject
Well, he can always jump off if he has to. He doesn't weigh very much at all for a six foot tall man with a ton of power.]
Haha, did I scare you last time? [But onto it he steps, carefully measuring how his weight is distributed even if he keeps his hands pocketed like a cool guy. He glances back at Damian.]
no subject
[Taking up the stick, Damian steps on after Guren. It's a fairly bigger raft, allowing them to displace weight evenly without it rocking all around--unless Guren is a fucker who bounces off of it.]
You're supposed to be the adult, but you act like a child. You could have split the raft, and I would have fallen into the water.
[Shoving the stick into the depths, he uses it to push them along and steer them toward the docks they came from earlier.]
Is there a particular reason you're going after the fairies?
no subject
[But, they're on the raft, he's not going to bother offering to help push it when Damian is probably going to get stubborn about it, so he just stares forward, at the docks.
Why the fairies? He's tired, he's got so much on his mind, he feels like he's got five million things to do— but he's been slacking on the quests lately. Maybe that's why he hasn't gotten any closer. Maybe he has to do more. More and more, as much as his body will handle. Going with multiple different groups means a different outcome every time, too. But he just glances up at the sky, a little.]
Not really.
no subject
[Damian's eyes are locked onto Guren's backside and face if Guren happens to glance back. They've probably been there the whole time, and Guren could feel the holes drilling in.
As much as he is everything else, Damian is at least perceptive.] I know you're using me for my color. What else are you looking for, Ichinose? Are you trying to see what will happen if they're defeated?
Do you even know how to fight fairies?
no subject
[Guren grumbles it, even if he can't blame him for keeping his eyes open. He doesn't look back. He refuses to, staring forward all the same.]
You're the first one I'm going out to fight fairies with, but you won't be the last. These quests have been restoring color, little by little. It's progress in some direction, at least. Anyway, I've never fought one before. Why, have you?
no subject
Fairies found in folktales and fairytales all have strengths and weaknesses. How are you going to fight them without understanding any basic mythology of fairies?
You believe just because you have a demon and a sword, you can go in and destroy them without blinking an eye. [As they come up onto the docks, Damian turns the raft and lets the side bump gently into the beams to stop them. He waits for Guren to get off first, but will follow right after with the stick and the rope.] You can't just slink out of the shadows and recruit someone to fight fairies blindly.
[HE ISN'T YUU]
no subject
[Oddly enough, he's not asking with any irritation in his tone. Finally, after he steps off the raft and onto the dock, he glances back at Damian. It's just a neutral expression, but there's something tired in it.]
I was born in the center of Japan's magical society. I know how to read up on things I'm not familiar with. I know the European tales roughly, and I know what I've read in the library here, in fairy tales.
At the same time, you should never limit yourself to what you already know. In any fight, you go in with as much knowledge as possible, and prepare to be proven wrong.
[He pauses, adjusting the bracelet on his wrist.] If you hate me so much, why did you agree to go?
no subject
His attention falls back on the man when he stands up, and his eyes again don't waver from their hawkish peer at Guren's face.]
Why are you assuming I hate you just because I critique everything you do, and I've been trying to get you to give me an honest fight?
no subject
I guess I'm just used to being hated.
[With the raft taken care of, he turns on his heels and starts walking again. Forest now!!]
When you ask for an honest fight, what are you wanting, anyway? For me not to use my sword? No fuda? That doesn't change what I've already become.
no subject
I don't care if you use your sword or your fuda. I want you to fight me without holding back just because you think I'm a child.
no subject
[Well, it's good to know, but it makes him hurt even more. Damian already reminds him too much of himself in certain ways. He didn't want him to have to share that feeling, too.]
That's not why I'm holding back. [Being a child doesn't have anything to do with it, but of course it's going to feel like that. Of course he's frustrated.] If that's all it is, wasn't my answer to you jumping me enough?
no subject
No. You didn't fight me like you meant it. You were toying with me. You fought me patronizingly.
[As much staring at Guren as he was doing before, he sure is purposefully not looking at the man now. He may or may not be doubling his steps to catch up and keep up with Guren so they aren't playing follow-the-leader.]
And now you won't accept any of my challenges because I'm still a child to you. Like I'm not worthy. I even sparred Midoriya like you wanted.
no subject
How did that go?
no subject
If Guren looks over, Damian is pointedly not looking at him still, even more so than before. His face is dark, which may be all Guren needs to know about how it went.]
no subject
[That gives him an answer, but he won't rub it in any more than that. It's just a short laugh, a smirk, and he drops his hand away from his face. They're in the forest now, but it's too early to be seeing any fairies.]
Then let me ask you one more thing. Would it really make you feel better to lose to me treating you seriously, too?
no subject
...Yes. I won't always lose. I'll keep trying until I win. At least have the decency to take your opponent seriously. [POT. Kettle.] Midoriya wasn't taking me seriously either.
He was too busy trying to keep from fighting me. Like he felt sorry for me.
no subject
If you have principals like "I don't want to use magic, it's cheating," then that's fine, but don't complain when you're not strong enough to beat someone who does use it. In order to survive in the world I live in, you have to grab for whatever power you can find, no matter how risky. That's what I'm used to.
[So, that's all he's thinking in terms of fighting.]
But fine. If you really want, then come find me later. If things are going in a pattern, then some new faces should be showing up before too long. You can find me after they're here, and I'll give you a fight.
no subject
What really bothers him more than anything is the fact Guren believes completely in grabbing for any kind of power. His mouth opens, and he's geared up to go ham... only for the offer to quiet him.
He's got a fight now, and he's not sure if he wants it. Feels... too easy? He got it so easy, after he had been so aggravated trying to get it before.] Fine. I'll think about it.
You're wrong, though. I don't need magic, or special abilities, or a demon to win a fight against someone who has all of that. I can win without it.
Everyone has weaknesses.
