Event Nine.

t's a dark night, and the sounds of feet in the darkness are further dampened and hidden by even more magic, as they are lured away by the soft sounds of dreams that are too good to be true, leaving the Town much, much emptier than when it began. On one side, an island, and a ticking clock to a gruesome death. On the other, the slow realization that those bonds everyone has been forging might mean much, much more than they first thought. [Rotating his shoulder until he's finally satisfied, Aizawa considers Giorno's question before shaking his head.]

Nothing serious enough that would require the sort of healing you provide.

[He can handle scrapes and scratches fine, though he keeps the offer in mind as he scans their surroundings and considers where his assistance would be most needed.]

Can you only heal skin and muscle, or can you do more?

I'm fine. I thought you were being honest with me though? [He suddenly has a few questions, but that can be dealt with later.]

[He nods. It's true that just because people come here from the same place, they won't necessarily know each other well.]

I guess that's one nice thing. We get to know other people better.

[Although, as they all sit here on a deserted, freezing beach, it might be hard for most people to think it's worth it. Akira is all about bonds, though.]

[He had a vague recollection of the same thing, but when everything went down it was the absolute furthest from his mind.

He's too tired to fully break down, exhaustion muting the torrent of emotions he had been feeling. He sniffled quietly, though, a few tears willingly escaping anyway.]

I coulda helped if-if my powers hadn't been gone... I felt s-so damn helpless! I couldn't do anythin'! I've never... never felt like that before...

[He looked doubtful and hesitant at first, but knew he wasn't going to be getting very far without help.]

Alright...

[He took her hand carefully, getting to his feet with a slight wobble and a wince of the continuing ache throughout his body.]

Thanks. What uh... what're we gonna do now? Pretty sure we can't swim back.

We talked about how I mostly am? [ his hand covers john's on his cheek. ] The stuff I'm not is all stupid. But I didn't like the idea of never.

[ Look, it's fine. The sunshine children are allowed to be violent sometimes. They've earned that much... ]

If anything, at least we won't starve, even if it won't taste that well. [ At least he's... looking at the bright side. Or something. ] Anyway, I'd always appreciate the company, signora. Admittedly, I'm not too ecstatic about searching the island while it's raining, though.

Okay, well, you are not getting rid of me permanently. So that idea is not worth entertaining. [He doesn't mind Dave's hand there.] But are you going to tell me someday anyway?

[ Don't call your dad gross, Minato, that's rude...!!! He's doing what he can to survive.

Caramia's immediate attention is not drawn to the other siren, but rather to Minato. Being as congested as he is, it's a miracle he even noticed the boy before he pulled anything out to begin with. Of course, seeing a fucking gun to Minato's head soon after doesn't exactly coerce any happy fun time thoughts for Caramia! So, of course, he reacts the way any normal person would: fucking badly.

He reaches out, ignoring the grey blood stained hands in favor of trying to grab Minato. Unlikely, since he is farther away than he could hope to reach, but it's the thought that counts? ]

Wait- [ He gasps. ] Don't---!!!!

...If you want, sure. [ not the answer he expected to give, but the only one to come to mind. ] I've figured out in the past month or two that I could basically tell you anything and it'd never change a thing.

[ dave means this in a good way. ]

You don't have to worry about Doris. Someone went to the trouble of taking care of all the pets that were left behind.

Of course it wouldn't. We're friends. I am always going to listen to anything you have to say. [There's a reassuring smile.] But it doesn't have to be right now either.

Whenever you want. [ a little shrug. ] You ain't gonna figure any of it out on your own. And there isn't a time limit, just. I missed you.

[Sometimes sunburns happen, it's fine.]

Uuuugh yeah.... this rain sucks! It makes footing a huge pain, and I can't get dry at all.

[....It's easy to see why, given she's in pajamas and her hair was ridiculously long, making for a thick wet blanket hanging down her back. She'd been perpetually damp since arrival, pretty much.]

But I think that's even more reason why we should stick together in groups, actually. Pairs or groups can look out for each other in trickier areas.

How do you know I won't? [He says nothing about Dave missing him or vice versa, but he does squeeze him a little tighter anyway.]

Yeah, you're the most oblivious person I know. [ ... ] No, actually, scratch that, second-most. I think English has you beat.

[windeity]

I cannot even be insulted because at least Jake has me beat. So thanks for that? [He gives him a thoughtful look.] ...they're here, by the way. Jake and Dirk both.

[parodeity]

Thank god. I mean, I figured, you're here and they - same deal. [ but he was worried, so. ] ...I know I should like, say something profound or have a plan besides "let's go home together" but all I can think is that you're here and I missed you and I feel like I almost lost my favorite person in the universe.

[crowsigliere]

Look!! It's fine!! And besides, can anyone really ever be 'okay' in a place like this?

"Oh, I don't mind if it's dangerous!" Which... isn't really answering the question that was asked, but he certainly looks fine, so?? Hey. Don't worry about it I guess. "I don't want anyone to get hurt, but... I do want to help. So, as long as there's something someone like me can do, I'll do anything. I can't stand to see everyone here so upset."

Even if he isn't always sure how to help, he likes to be useful.

[Estelle glances at Maribelle with concern. They both seem to be in less than tip top shape, it seems, and she feels a bit guilty for draining Maribelle so.

....Well, they just have to make do with what they had going for them, right now.]

But yeah, you're right... where are the boats? Or whatever you guys took to get here.

[She remembered the boat projects going on before the kidnapping, so she assumed--]

This is a little slow-going, isn't it? Dex is incredibly patient for someone who started the apocalypse over some boobs.

Awkwardly enough, it takes about halfway through the second word for Kyrie to remember that the man he knows as 'Lion' does, in fact, go by Caramia as well. But hey, it's fine, because once he does recognize who he's talking about, he brightens even further.

"Really?? Did he teach you?" Wild! He wonders when his friend had picked that skill up. "He's pretty amazing after all. I wonder if he could teach me, too?"

A pause. There are a few things wrong with that plan, the most obvious of which being that they would need to actually find Caramia first, but that isn't what sticks out the most to Kyrie.

"But... then again, I would probably just forget it anyway. So maybe not... Ah, but then I hope you don't mind spelling things out this way?"

He doesn't want to burden either of them if he can help it.

[atomicals]

Yeah, I'm sure they are.

[Still, he shoots worried glances over his shoulder--right toward that distant island.]

Keith's good at toughing through things... I'm sure they're all working together.

[atomicals]

[Hunk doggedly stays above water, forcing himself to work past the exhaustion. He manages it, surprised at his own energy, the fact that he can keep going. Soon, soon, the opposite shore comes into view.

Not far.

When he finally hits the shore the strength fades from him. He stumbles up the loose rock dragging the ship behind him before he drops into a crouch, panting from exertion. There.]

[atomicals]

Maybe.

[A good-humoured grin.] There's the paladin armour, and then all five of our Lions can combine to make Voltron.

[windeity]

[He could make a joke about it, but for once he decides not to since it's a little unusual for Dave to still be fumbling to regain his cool. So. Maybe it's not worth it. He squeezes his shoulders again in another hug and almost as proof that he's very much solid and here.]

Guess it just means next time it is your turn to disappear and worry the rest of us. [Still a bad joke.] We should go find them and take our boat back. It'll be better back in town.
