FOREST SEARCH [ closed ]
WHO: Everyone who signed up for this mini adventure here!
WHERE: The forest
WHEN: 8/12 Early Afternoon
WHAT: Everyone went missing on the 11th, and this is the first place that most people suspect. So, they're having a search! After all, the island isn't visible in the water, yet, and this is way too many people missing. Time for some adventures.
WARNINGS: Violence in certain groups! Let me know if your group has any other warnings to add as they come.
[I will be PMing each group with the information I received from the mods! I wanted to have the link to the log in the PM, so here's this first, but expect those group PMs shortly.
Please remember, if you have any questions from the scenarios, choose one person in your group as the go-to person to ask the mods questions, so they can keep track! Thank you! And please tag your characters into the log so I don't have to add all 17 tags thank you very much.
Remember, everyone enters as one group, but gets separated by the forest! For a recap and ease of access, here's the general overview of the forest that applies to everyone, from the mods:
---
To begin with, the usual forest disclaimers apply: it's entirely up to the characters how far they go and what they experience out of this entire scenario; we'll be outlining the entirety of it for each group, but if they decide to turn back at any point, that's perfectly fine.
The first thing they will notice when heading into the woods is that it feels as though there is some strange, uncanny whispering, but it is just too low for them to catch any words. Nonetheless, the deeper they head in, the more irritating it will get. It will also feel as though someone or something is watching them, though they will catch no glimpses of anyone in particular.
They can find animals out here! All of the animals out here are some sort of strange mutated creature, but will act like regular animals otherwise; for example, a deer with bat wings will still flee when they approach, whereas a bear will likely still attack, even if (or maybe especially if) it has the ability to breathe fire.
And, of course, each and every group will be split up by forest shenanigans; as soon as they step into the woods and walk, they will suddenly realize that there is nobody but their group beside them. There's no warning, nothing happens -- one minute they're with everyone, and the next, they're with their small group and nobody else. Uncanny!]

(If you listen closely over the bear noises, you can hear Minato's voice telling him how disappointed he is that Lupin isn't that heroic after all.)
As it turns out, just hanging up in the branches might be enough. His two companions are, frankly, superhuman. Before he can even quite process that Guren just literally sliced that laser bear in twain with one strike (and one arm!), he sees Okuni drawing the other one's attention away. And complaining about possible clothing damage.
What's with these people...
Thinking on his feet, he helps in the only useful way he can think of right now; he slips a thin stiletto out from somewhere on his person and launches it straight into one of the crab-like eyes of the bear. That weapon is mostly for last resorts and the odd occasion where he gets tied up. He'll consider this the former. At the very least, it causes the bear some pain and hopefully gets it to back off from Okuni. ]

And there's not. Only those voices, slowly growing louder and more demeaning. He can hear things about each of them. They're beginning to get more personal, aren't they?
"You can't save anyone." It's too muffled by the commotion behind him to even tell who's saying that.
Anyway, he's sure Okuni can deal with that last bear so have fun.]

Okuni's robe is saved from ripping thanks to Lupin's distraction, which she follows up by whipping her sword up and sinking it into the bear's neck. There! She rolls out of the way to avoid it falling on her, and then scrambles to her feet.
But the adrenaline and tension that so abruptly arrived along with the bears seems to have finally taken a reprieve, Okuni thinks before hearing yet another voice sneer down at them. are you really surprised by this? suffering's all you've ever deserved.]
Ugh. [she clicks her tongue and pulls out the stiletto from the bear to return to Lupin, then looks around to see if Lupin and Guren are fine.]
-- Hey, at least tie that up before you bleed to death!
[GUREN]

He really can't believe that just happened.
Okuni does have a point, however; Lupin keeps his confused outbursts waiting on deck while he swiftly makes his way back down the tree, running over to Guren once he's on the ground. ]
Hey! Sit down - you're losing a lot of blood. We need to get you bandaged up.

[Since there's nothing, he can look back at the others without any worry, and he blinks like it's nothing. Slowly, his fingers twitch, and with some effort, he lifts that arm. Blood is soaking him there— but anything still dripping is no longer coming from him fresh. The wound has sealed up and is working to heal over completely.
It looks like he's regaining movement, too.]
Something like that wouldn't be able to kill me even if I let it. My demon helps me heal automatically. So? Are you both okay?

Even Okuni shoots Guren a look at this because WHAT THE FCK?? She immediately sidles into Guren's space to look at his bloody arm properly. That's... That's a thing that's happening. And while the mention of demons usually excites Okuni, she's a little too wrung out from all the adrenaline and the constant needling of the voices around them to react like she usually does.
She whirls around to shake her head at Lupin instead,]
See, I told you he has weird hobbies!
[LOOK AT THIS GUY!!! if Okuni can be rude, then she's clearly fine.]
