Intro Log.

Ding, dong, bell,
Pussy's in the well.
Who put her in?
Little Johnny Thin.
Who pulled her out?
Little Tommy Stout.
What a naughty boy was that,
To try to drown poor pussy cat,
Who never did him any harm,
But killed all the mice in the farmer's barn.

ou wake in knee-deep water, cold as ice and stagnant, in a space that is far too echoey and spacious. It feels like a massive cave, but looking up... there's only one small, circular opening that shows grey sky and shines any sort of light.

It looks like a long trip upwards, a small cylinder with walls of brick that's just a little too high to reach, even when jumping. Getting out is probably going to be a bit of a task, especially considering the water is more than cold enough to make limbs go numb.

The dark makes it impossible to see much further, but the space seems large, all filled with water, but with no other way out, stone walls the only thing for an intrepid explorer to find.

But most importantly of all... you're not alone.

Welcome to Awash's first intro log, everyone! Please review the FAQ and rules before playing. Characters have all woken at the bottom of the well in the middle of the town (which seems a lot bigger on the inside, somehow), and it looks like they'll have to put in some work to get out.

Once out, they'll be free to explore the various locations the Town has to offer at will. Just try not to die on any of the far-too-rickety walkways.

Further information can be found here at the OOC post, and don't forget to greet your fellow players here!

[Tonbokiri winces but chuckles slightly, also imagining trying to get his poor horse out of that horrible well. It might have been exceedingly difficult! Although, Namine's magic would have worked well again in that case. He then hesitates for a beat at that question, not because he has anything to hide, but because he's considering the most straight-forward way to explain it. It seems this man will take the answer quite seriously.]

Aruji is just that - my current lord and master. With his power, I am the human-form tsukumogami of this spear. [He brings forward the spear he's been holding at his side, setting it proudly upright before him.] I am called Tonbokiri, one of the Three Great Spears of Japan.

... Uh. Excuse me?

[ he was expecting a schpeal about "Aruji" being the grandmaster behind all of this - maybe some sort of mafia head or disgruntled vampire or perhaps someone even more sinister. Instead, he got... well, this. Whatever this is. Lupin looks at the spear, then at the man, and doesn't seem to quite understand it, even if he understood the words being said - the dubious expression on his face speaks volumes. ]

[Tonbokiri blinks back at him, slightly surprised at the man appearing so... dubious.]

Pardon me. That is... perhaps something of that was too difficult to understand... Could it be that you are not from Japan?

[He'll just start with that. After all, this place, even outside of being colourless, is certainly not Japan. So what's to say some of the people aren't as well. And if he's not Japanese, perhaps he's never heard of a tsukumogami before?]

[ two in one, there. ]

Can't you tell? [ well, maybe not. ] I'm a Frenchman. Although I will say you're not the first Japanese guy I've run into here.

[ but he is the first... tsukumogami. Spear? Lupin doesn't even know. ]
