Intro Log.

Ding, dong, bell,
Pussy's in the well.
Who put her in?
Little Johnny Thin.
Who pulled her out?
Little Tommy Stout.
What a naughty boy was that,
To try to drown poor pussy cat,
Who never did him any harm,
But killed all the mice in the farmer's barn.

ou wake in knee-deep water, cold as ice and stagnant, in a space that is far too echoey and spacious. It feels like a massive cave, but looking up... there's only one small, circular opening that shows grey sky and shines any sort of light.

It looks like a long trip upwards, a small cylinder with walls of brick that's just a little too high to reach, even when jumping. Getting out is probably going to be a bit of a task, especially considering the water is more than cold enough to make limbs go numb.

The dark makes it impossible to see much further, but the space seems large, all filled with water, but with no other way out, stone walls the only thing for an intrepid explorer to find.

But most importantly of all... you're not alone.

Welcome to Awash's first intro log, everyone! Please review the FAQ and rules before playing. Characters have all woken at the bottom of the well in the middle of the town (which seems a lot bigger on the inside, somehow), and it looks like they'll have to put in some work to get out.

Once out, they'll be free to explore the various locations the Town has to offer at will. Just try not to die on any of the far-too-rickety walkways.

Further information can be found here at the OOC post, and don't forget to greet your fellow players here!

I'm not sure how I feel about being a captive in this case, but I was afraid of that. That is what I have noticed so far, too, but it's all the more reason to explore and figure out what's going on and what else exists out there.

Unless it just means we're bound to lose color, too.

Bound to lose color? That's... a possibility.

[ One that is entirely alarming, might he add. Akechi has always felt a little dead inside, and if he were to lose all color, his exterior would finally make for a good, ghastly match. ]

However, I've been considering a different hypothesis. What if, rather than losing color, the people behind this expect us to restore color instead?

You think? [It's clear that's something he hadn't thought of but it's not a hypothesis he'll discount entirely.] Which means what, they think there's something about us they can use to do that? You'd think they would give us a hint as to what that is though. Right now we are just kind of guessing.

...then again. That's a good reason for why we still have color, at least.

The fact that we have retained our colors is, indeed, my strongest clue so far. Who knows, perhaps our captors think it's a contagious condition.

[ Like a color virus or something, though that couldn't possibly work on inanimate objects. Or could it? Akechi sure has seen enough weirdness in his life not to immediately write off any possibility. ]

There is one more clue that has been on my mind, too. Have you see the laptops we were given and how they work?

[He stops walking temporarily when Akechi mentions a contagious condition and his hand moves to touch a nearby tree. The weird stalker-y feeling is creeping up on him despite not seeing anything threatening behind him, but the tree also remains as gray as ever.

Not a bad theory though. And maybe he's just not doing this right.]

I haven't found my own yet but I've heard about them. What did you find out about them that's another clue?
doublecrowss: (pic#11651068)

[personal profile] doublecrowss 2018-03-20 08:19 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Akechi stops more out of politeness than any actual expectation; if it were as simple as just touching things, then by all means, it would have worked before. How stupid. ]

There is only one laptop for each specific individual, possibly making use of biometrics authentication. Once you gain access, you are given an user name, consisting of a hex number. In other words, they have us color-coded.

[ That sounds pretty big to be just a coincidence. ]
windeity: (ANNOYED ♫ so about that)

[personal profile] windeity 2018-03-20 08:38 pm (UTC)(link)
[Sometimes you touch things and look like a dumbass. Other times you touch things and gain universe and timeline-altering powers. You never know. Still he doesn't know that Akechi's judging him and he leaves it alone but he does suddenly look less than pleased.]

Really. [There's also an equally flat tone.] So someone is definitely watching us enough to bring us here and assign us. Even creepier then if that is the case, but if we're color-coded...[Hm.] So you know yours already?
