ou wake in knee-deep water, cold as ice and stagnant, in a space that is far too echoey and spacious. It feels like a massive cave, but looking up... there's only one small, circular opening that shows grey sky and shines any sort of light. It looks like a long trip upwards, a small cylinder with walls of brick that's just a little too high to reach, even when jumping. Getting out is probably going to be a bit of a task, especially considering the water is more than cold enough to make limbs go numb. The dark makes it impossible to see much further, but the space seems large, all filled with water, but with no other way out, stone walls the only thing for an intrepid explorer to find. But most importantly of all... you're not alone. Welcome to Awash's first intro log, everyone! Please review the FAQ and rules before playing. Characters have all woken at the bottom of the well in the middle of the town (which seems a lot bigger on the inside, somehow), and it looks like they'll have to put in some work to get out. Once out, they'll be free to explore the various locations the Town has to offer at will. Just try not to die on any of the far-too-rickety walkways. [ Filter to get solids, boiling to get bacteria, since either thing could ruin someone's day. Of course, that gives them a to-do list in itself. ]

So, fire and shelter. Then we're working from a better place to consider the water situation. Food can wait until after that's settled.

Well, it's probably fine? She doesn't mind using her powers to protect innocent people from drinking contaminated water, after all.]

Sounds like a plan. I don't think any of us are really hungry or thirsty yet so it makes sense. Most of the buildings around here are pretty run down though.

[ Admittedly, he's not thinking that hard about the testing part as the process they need to get through before anyone drinks anything. Between filtering and boiling, he'd be fine with doing it himself, if nobody else is eager to throw themselves on that particular grenade. ]

Exposure will kill you faster than thirst or hunger. The weather here doesn't seem bad so far, but we don't know anything about the climate here.

[ For all they know, maybe fast, sudden changes are the norm here. That could screw them up pretty badly. ]

They're rundown, but the buildings are a good start. There might be a few that don't need anything too bad in the way of repairs, and they should be adequate until we have a chance to get that done.

If it suddenly started to rain, we'd be in trouble. [She's seen tons of people shivering already. At least she has her temperature-regulating, bullet-proof, fire-proof uniform to wear. Others? Might not be so lucky.]

At least the buildings provide a little bit of cover, right? And if we do have to do repairs... [Kaoru could probably help.]

...I think I know someone that could help with that.

They're enough cover for now, at least. We'll want to shore things up in the long term, but I'd say they'll be adequate while we see to supplies.

[ Fixing things, after all, will take energy. Get the minimum met for each of their basic needs, then build on that once they have that much in hand. ]

I guess so. [Though she’s not really looking forward to living here if all they were getting was broken down old buildings.]

Someone as in another set of hands, I think. She’s good for heavy lifting. [Which is putting it lightly, Kaoru can lift jets with her mind, after all. All they’d have to do first is think of a good cover story since no one was technically supposed to know what they could do.]

I'm not sure how much we'll need yet, but I'm sure she'll be a great help.
