Intro Log.

Ding, dong, bell,
Pussy's in the well.
Who put her in?
Little Johnny Thin.
Who pulled her out?
Little Tommy Stout.
What a naughty boy was that,
To try to drown poor pussy cat,
Who never did him any harm,
But killed all the mice in the farmer's barn.

ou wake in knee-deep water, cold as ice and stagnant, in a space that is far too echoey and spacious. It feels like a massive cave, but looking up... there's only one small, circular opening that shows grey sky and shines any sort of light.

It looks like a long trip upwards, a small cylinder with walls of brick that's just a little too high to reach, even when jumping. Getting out is probably going to be a bit of a task, especially considering the water is more than cold enough to make limbs go numb.

The dark makes it impossible to see much further, but the space seems large, all filled with water, but with no other way out, stone walls the only thing for an intrepid explorer to find.

But most importantly of all... you're not alone.

Welcome to Awash's first intro log, everyone! Please review the FAQ and rules before playing. Characters have all woken at the bottom of the well in the middle of the town (which seems a lot bigger on the inside, somehow), and it looks like they'll have to put in some work to get out.

Once out, they'll be free to explore the various locations the Town has to offer at will. Just try not to die on any of the far-too-rickety walkways.

Further information can be found here at the OOC post, and don't forget to greet your fellow players here!

[ It takes a few moments but Yata does eventually return, a worn looking broom in hand. ]

Here, this'll work.

[ Though despite how he words his announcement he hangs on to the broom, clearly intending to use it himself. ]

There wasn't a dustpan or anything, so we'll just have to sweep it into a corner, alright?

[ maybe yata plans on using it himself, but dextera has different plans! he offers the staff back, and gestures for them to make a trade. he might be forcing yata to take responsibility for this mess, but he'll do the cleaning.

a lesson taught is a lesson learned. he can make an upright citizen out of this delinquent!! ]

[ Wait, he wants to do it? Yata hesitates, but then he hands the broom over. He found it, so Dex will sweep? He has no idea if that's his intention, but it seems fair to Yata so he'll go with it. He turns the broom over, accepting his staff in exchange. And once they're done... ]

There, now no one will get hurt trying to get food.

[ Good job, team! ]

I'm Yata, by the way.

[ they both learned something today! dextera learned not to put glass in his open palm—he’s lucky there’s no blood, but now, at least, the store window has been cleaned up for safe passage.

yata...

dextera has tried a couple ways of communicating his name now, including just not saying his name at all, but this one seems the most effective.

he holds his hand out, asking for yata’s palm. ]

[ ... The fuck?

Yata looks a little puzzled by the gesture. Even so, he holds out his hand. He's already figured out that Dextera can't talk. Maybe he has a pen but no paper.

feel free to drop because captcha but i had... to give... his name...

[ dextera has neither a pen nor paper, actually. he’s aware of yata’s incredulous look, so he tries to be quick about it.

one good turn deserves another! he slowly writes his name on yata’s hand with his finger.

D-E-X-T-E-R-A

and he smiles. it’s a small gesture, but one he felt was necessary all the same now that they’ve bonded over cleaning. ]
