Intro Log.

Ding, dong, bell,
Pussy's in the well.
Who put her in?
Little Johnny Thin.
Who pulled her out?
Little Tommy Stout.
What a naughty boy was that,
To try to drown poor pussy cat,
Who never did him any harm,
But killed all the mice in the farmer's barn.

ou wake in knee-deep water, cold as ice and stagnant, in a space that is far too echoey and spacious. It feels like a massive cave, but looking up... there's only one small, circular opening that shows grey sky and shines any sort of light.

It looks like a long trip upwards, a small cylinder with walls of brick that's just a little too high to reach, even when jumping. Getting out is probably going to be a bit of a task, especially considering the water is more than cold enough to make limbs go numb.

The dark makes it impossible to see much further, but the space seems large, all filled with water, but with no other way out, stone walls the only thing for an intrepid explorer to find.

But most importantly of all... you're not alone.

Welcome to Awash's first intro log, everyone! Please review the FAQ and rules before playing. Characters have all woken at the bottom of the well in the middle of the town (which seems a lot bigger on the inside, somehow), and it looks like they'll have to put in some work to get out.

Once out, they'll be free to explore the various locations the Town has to offer at will. Just try not to die on any of the far-too-rickety walkways.

Further information can be found here at the OOC post, and don't forget to greet your fellow players here!

[This sounds an awful lot like vigilante justice, but! Moving on before this tenuous friendship is destroyed forever!]

I'll take your word for it! Hopefully you won't have to use him [it?] on anyone here.

[But there's no sense in worrying about things she has no control over, especially not when there are still supplies to collect and streets to map. She's just going to hook a thumb back over her shoulder, gesturing toward the area she'd originally been heading toward before he so rudely distracted her.]

I guess I should keep exploring. You can come help me, if you want? Or you can stay here, but if you do, please be careful. It would be terrible if you got hurt and no one was around to help you.

[Hey now..... it's a little more complicated than that, but never mind. Okuyasu considers what's more productive: jumping on stuff or going along with Friendship Quests, shrugging like it's really such a hard decision to make. Jeez.]

If throwing me around in the air is helping, the next person's probably gonna shove me in themselves. I guess looking around wouldn't hurt.

["Throwing me around in the air?" Um, excuse me, that was a carefully controlled ascent...]

It kept you from falling, though. [She definitely doesn't sound a tiny bit miffed. Nope. She's just going to pivot away from him and start walking down the street, scoping out the structures nearest to them.] Have you gone in any of these buildings?

Like I was gonna fall in the first place. [He sooooo wasn't!! But he's following her anyway, so just know: he totally had it under control.]

I got my foot stuck in some stairs before. [So, exploring has been going great.]

[Yeah, that comment earns him a slightly concerned look. Clearly he needs supervision? And direction. And possibly a toddler leash.]

I guess that means you didn't get very far, right? So we should see what's inside.

[And with that, she continues up the street until she spots a building that looks... reasonably intact. Well, it could look worse, anyway. She heads right up to the door, twisting the rusty doorknob and finding that it is most definitely stuck. Wonderful.]

Can... you get this?

[Aka can you break it down like a real thug??]

[No way, he's a tough guy and totally capable of taking care of himself. He just shrugs, then comes up to the stuck door and considers it. He even jiggles the doorknob himself, thinking about it...

Which is just pretense, because he's definitely going to knock it down with one hard kick right in the middle, like it ain't no thang. It does take very little effort for him to bust this door in, so, tada.]

There you go.
