ou wake in knee-deep water, cold as ice and stagnant, in a space that is far too echoey and spacious. It feels like a massive cave, but looking up... there's only one small, circular opening that shows grey sky and shines any sort of light. It looks like a long trip upwards, a small cylinder with walls of brick that's just a little too high to reach, even when jumping. Getting out is probably going to be a bit of a task, especially considering the water is more than cold enough to make limbs go numb. The dark makes it impossible to see much further, but the space seems large, all filled with water, but with no other way out, stone walls the only thing for an intrepid explorer to find. But most importantly of all... you're not alone. Welcome to Awash's first intro log, everyone! Please review the FAQ and rules before playing. Characters have all woken at the bottom of the well in the middle of the town (which seems a lot bigger on the inside, somehow), and it looks like they'll have to put in some work to get out. Once out, they'll be free to explore the various locations the Town has to offer at will. Just try not to die on any of the far-too-rickety walkways. [This little guy with his logic and reasonable explanations... he reminds Okuyasu of Koichi, which is enough to get him to shrug, a little defeated, but mostly giving up on the parkour dreams for the time being. Okay, okay.]

Well, I'm not smart enough to help with that, so I've just been doing my own thing.

[Izuku looks at him, immediately dismayed by his response.] What makes you say that? You can't give up before you even try!

[Sorry, Okuyasu, were you looking for a personal cheerleader? Because it looks like you're getting one.]

[Oh jeez... Okuyasu gives him a look, not quite exasperated but already exhausted by the very thought of hearing this more than once. Calm down, not-Koichi.]

Nah, I know I'm not smart enough. It's better if the smart guys figure it out and call me if they need somebody to punch something. I don't mind.

[Izuku just shakes his head, though.]

We're all just having a look around the town right now. Even if you don't think you're smart, you could still help around with that, you know? Especially if whoever brought us here is still around somewhere.

[But..... hm... that still sounds like he's liable to fuck it up and embarrass himself, so. He scoffs and crosses his arms, looking off to the side like he definitely does not care, whatever!! It's very nuanced.]

Well, what spots are you looking at? I'll just hang around you if I've gotta do something.

[That's probably as good as he's gonna get for now. He'll take it!]

I can think of a couple things to do. Um, apparently there's laptops in some of the buildings around here? Those could be worth looking into. Or I was thinking we could check for any old shops around here for supplies! What do you think?

[It's fine if someone else tells him to do the Helpful Guy stuff, that's the loophole here. He'll stop calling himself stupid and help if he truly must!!

[Izuku tilts his head as he considers their options.]

Let's collect some supplies first! I bet we can find some spare clothes and blankets for people who need to warm up. We can check out the laptops afterward.

[pursestrings]

[Ah, so people who haven't been running around like maniacs all afternoon, of course. Okuyasu nods, no objections, then considers a dire possibility--]

Hey, you think water like this- [a gesture, to the weirdly stagnant canal] -is it? Like, we have to shower in that?

[inheritance]

[His expression changes into one of horror instead.]

The plumbing...! Um, assuming that those are still working, we can check the buildings near us and see what the water is like.

[pursestrings]

Bet you it's gross just like this.

[But if the plumbing is shit... well,] Or we're gonna be going in buckets.

[Truly, this is why the city should be called Shitsville.]
