Intro Log.

Pussy's in the well. Who put her in? Little Johnny Thin. Who pulled her out? Little Tommy Stout. What a naughty boy was that, To try to drown poor pussy cat, Who never did him any harm, But killed all the mice in the farmer's barn.
Welcome to Awash's first intro log, everyone! Please review the FAQ and rules before playing. Characters have all woken at the bottom of the well in the middle of the town (which seems a lot bigger on the inside, somehow), and it looks like they'll have to put in some work to get out.

ou wake in knee-deep water, cold as ice and stagnant, in a space that is far too echoey and spacious. It feels like a massive cave, but looking up... there's only one small, circular opening that shows grey sky and shines any sort of light.

[You know, Balthazar is expecting a lot of things here given the last thirty seconds that he remembers happening, and water is exactly none of them?
And this definitely is water - too thin, too cold to be blood, not the right consistency for anything else he could possibly be expecting, so water it is for some weird as fuck reason - and then there's the top of this entire structure and oh, this is going to be inconvenient, isn't it.
So he's just going to be spending a moment trying to work himself out, standing with his head tipped back and looking up at the entrance to the well, and honestly the first thing he thinks to say is just- ]
So, is anyone going to make the obligatory "seven days" comment so none of the rest of us have to?
[His tone couldn't be any more "Well, this might as well happen" if he tried.]
[II. Town]
[You know, for someone's who's dressed as he is - he's into investments and money and playing with lives and it shows, the suit's expensive and the tie is, well, a fucking tragedy but who's counting - he seems remarkably okay with the squalor.
Sure, the place has been abandoned for a while, but it's not on fire and no one is screaming and everything is just fine from the look of it. Sort of a trainwreck but fine.
So he can be found leaning up against a wall somewhere, his posture easy even if he's still mildly saturated from the adventure in the well earlier, and he's running a coin easily over the knuckles of his right hand, flipping it easily over and over and over in a light steeplechase flourish.]
Settling in well enough...?
[Apparently he isn't terribly shy, good to know.]
[III. Network, #650000]
So I take it no one else actually remembers deciding to come here of their own volition, either?
[Or come hit me on
iii.

Not at all. I wasn't expecting this at all. Nobody I've seen has known either.

Not that this isn't inconvenient, because it definitely is. Impressively inconvenient, really. But if a few of us don't know, chances are the rest don't either. I just figured it was worth a shot.
no subject
[The same...mysterious way.
Well, probably not 100% the same way, or so he's hoping considering his own circumstances, but who knows.]
Have you ever seen a place like this before?

Flatly,]
We just got here.
[What is there to "settle in" to yet?]
no subject
There are worse places we could have ended up. Somehow I doubt leaving is much on the agenda. But maybe it is, if anyone's found somewhere to actually go.

That move is cool. He should learn how to do that.
At the question, he gives a quick nod.]
Not much of a step down from where I was before.
[At least in terms of dirty, rundown living conditions.]
no subject
Oh, same.
[He's keeping it up with the coin for now. Flip, flip, flip.]
Might I ask where that place was for you, before all of this? I'm assuming that answer is going to be a little different for some.
[I mean. If the flying children were any indication earlier.]
no subject
[So yeah, pretty different. Although he feels like it's safe to say that none of them came from a place quite like this, without anyone around, completely devoid of any color.
He glances occasionally at the coin flipping.]
What about you?
iii
of course not that would make this way too easy
even if someone does remember i strongly suspect they have a vested interest in making things as obscure and inconvenient as possible
this place screams late 60s horror movie aesthetic

But if you've got another theory, I'd love to hear it. Are we adding to the pointlessly creepy pileup and suggesting that someone's in a coma in a mental ward and we're all the product of their imaginations, or...?

Seven days?
[ Sorry, dude, your witty aside apparently landed on one of the people with no context for what on earth is supposed to be funny about it. ]
no subject
I wouldn't dwell on it too much.

[ Unconvinced, but...what can you do, really. ]

No, but I don't seem to remember a fair number of things.
I;
Seven days? Seven days until what?
[ There might be something he should be on the look out for? Clearly that's what this man meant by "seven days comment", right? ]
i.
He's a nervous foil to the man who's just spoken. ]
Huh? Is something supposed to happen after spending seven days inside a well?
