Intro Log.

Pussy's in the well. Who put her in? Little Johnny Thin. Who pulled her out? Little Tommy Stout. What a naughty boy was that, To try to drown poor pussy cat, Who never did him any harm, But killed all the mice in the farmer's barn.
Welcome to Awash's first intro log, everyone! Please review the FAQ and rules before playing. Characters have all woken at the bottom of the well in the middle of the town (which seems a lot bigger on the inside, somehow), and it looks like they'll have to put in some work to get out.

ou wake in knee-deep water, cold as ice and stagnant, in a space that is far too echoey and spacious. It feels like a massive cave, but looking up... there's only one small, circular opening that shows grey sky and shines any sort of light.

He nods in understanding, spreading his legs and lacing his fingers together, for Keith to step on. He might not look like much, but he's not as weak as he appears. He can at least give Keith a boost to get up higher.]
Ready.
no subject
Here goes nothing. Boost as much as you can.
[And Keith will fling himself up as much he can. He shifts his weight and then plants a foot carefully on the prepped hands. The minute Akira makes any movement of lifting upward, Keith will double down, twisting with a remarkable amount of grace -- his training with the Blade has been a bit ruthless. But effective has hell.
The sound of scraping stone and he finds a cranky to jam his dagger, bracing a shoulder and a leg hard against the wall of the shaft, he half rolls near horizontal in the wellshaft as he hangs his free arm down.] All right. Give me your hand.

Akira pays close attention to the way Keith's body moves as he jumps, even though the well is dark and the angle is bad. He's usually pretty confident with his own skills when in the Metaverse as Joker, but this guy is on the next level. It'd be nice to learn how to jump like that.
He has to jump a bit to reach Keith's hand - it's more difficult when in knee deep water, but he makes it, grabbing on and hoping he doesn't just yank the both of them back into the water again.]

[Keith manages to hold, jamming his leg harder against the side of the well and bracing heavily against the dagger where it's still buried in between the bricks. No problem. Okay. Agility he can do. But hauling someone up is more of a challenge. While not
Pidge-sizedtiny, he's fairly small -- and he feels smaller lately, given all the time he spends around the Galra -- so he's definitely got to work to start pulling this guy up enough to where he can hopefully grab a hand hold.]Grab on!
[And then. Just for the record.] I can't believe we're climbing out of a well... I was in space like five minutes ago. What the quiznak is going on.

So, casting one glance at Keith and wondering if this is, perhaps, a bad idea, he goes ahead slips one of his knives out from where he keeps them hidden under his hoodie, his other hand white-knuckled as it tries to keep him from plunging right back into the water below. The knife is just a simple hunting knife, about the only real one Iwai would let him buy given his age, but maybe it can hold out at least long enough for him to get to the next handhold.
So he jams it between the bricks much like Keith did and... okay. Maybe he can manage this.
He looks up at Keith to let him know he's got it, at least this far.]
Are you some kind of astronaut?
[Because this is the best time for this conversation.]
no subject
[Conversation while trying to spider-monkey their way up a well shaft. Why not? It all makes perfect sense to Keith. He laughs shortly at the question.]
I mean kind of? Something like that. Space pilot anyway. Resistance fighter? I don't know if there's really even a word for it.
...
Yeah, I'm an astronaut.
[He makes sure he has his grip secure before slipping his dagger out, finding a new spot to jam it, glancing down.] You gonna make it up okay? If not, now is the time to fall, and I'll see if I can climb out and find a rope or something and come back for you.

[He's at least able to hold himself steady, and pull himself up to the next handhold. It's not so bad once he's gotten started, he thinks. Hopes. He can't think of any spot that was quite so precarious in the Metaverse.
He tries to focus on the conversation as he reaches up to grab another brick, moving his dagger up the way Keith had.
He's curious about the "resistance fighter" bit. What is he resisting, Akira wonders.]
That's pretty cool, though. Being an astronaut-space pilot-resistance fighter.
no subject
[Optimism! Or denial. The conversation is a good distraction though away from just how far up it may or may not be. Keith has a few moments of grabbing at spot that crumbles a bit but mostly manages well enough, still using his dagger as an anchor as he goes.]
Yeah. I mean it has its moments anyway. I've seen some amazing things. Met some crazy advanced alien civilizations.]
You're from Earth, right? Human?
