Intro Log.

Pussy's in the well. Who put her in? Little Johnny Thin. Who pulled her out? Little Tommy Stout. What a naughty boy was that, To try to drown poor pussy cat, Who never did him any harm, But killed all the mice in the farmer's barn.
Welcome to Awash's first intro log, everyone! Please review the FAQ and rules before playing. Characters have all woken at the bottom of the well in the middle of the town (which seems a lot bigger on the inside, somehow), and it looks like they'll have to put in some work to get out.

ou wake in knee-deep water, cold as ice and stagnant, in a space that is far too echoey and spacious. It feels like a massive cave, but looking up... there's only one small, circular opening that shows grey sky and shines any sort of light.

But she also knows Joshua means it, when he says he'll be careful.]
Right... At the very least you can probably get help, right? If this is a well, there might be people around.
no subject
[ Because of course that caveat probably wouldn't occur to Estelle, but who knows what any inhabitants of this area might be like? ]
no subject
[Of course, it was always a possibility they weren't, though Estelle would like to hope that any civilization they could find was friendly. Still, they had to end up here somehow.....
She grips her staff tightly, keeping watch on Joshua's slow ascent.]
Right... I guess I don't have to say it twice, but... be careful, ok?
no subject
[ He's got this. He's totally got this.
And with that, he turns his full attention to the climb. ]
no subject
She has full faith in his ability to make it, though.]
no subject
When none of that happens, he pulls himself up, climbs over the edge, and lands next to the well in a crouch, pulling his knives and taking a look around.
...still nothing happening.
Okay, that makes things easier.
And when he resheathes his blades and takes a look around, he notices something very promising, and leans to call down to Estelle below. ]
I'm up. Get ready for an incoming bucket.
no subject
She beams up at him when he finally leans back in, nodding vigorously before calling out.]
Got it! Ready when you are.
no subject
He is definitely not going to be the guy stupid enough to clonk his girlfriend on the head with a fast-moving bucket. ]
no subject
Alright, I think I can climb this!
no subject
[ Or front, as the case may be, but the point remains the same? ]
no subject
[Estelle shoots him a short thumbs up before rubbing her hands together and then grabbing onto the rope to heft herself up. She's no Joshua, but climbing at least was something Estelle was good at. She works her way up with a steady pace, thankful for the protection her gloves offer on the way up so she can wrap the rope around her hand in places.
Soon enough she's reached the top, and Estelle grips onto the stone edge, heaving herself up carefully.]
Phew. That is so not fun in damp clothes....
no subject
And, okay, he didn't really take a moment to react to everything before, because getting Estelle out was his first priority. But this place... ]
Estelle.
[ look at dis shit ]
no subject
It was....]
What in the world is this?!
[Someone stop her before she tumbles back down the well in shock.]
no subject
I don't know.
no subject
But this.... how is this even possible? It's like the color's drained out of everything! And the buildings...
[No one's lived here in a long, long time, it looks like.]
The whole place looks abandoned.
no subject
We're still in color, though. So it can't just be the light somehow behaving differently here; it really is the place itself.
[ However that works. ]
no subject
A-at least there's that.... though it's a bit freaky in it's own way that we're the only ones unaffected... This place looks like something out of a nightmare.
no subject
Putting that forward at this early stage doesn't seem productive, honestly. They have enough to worry about. ]
We should get a better look around.
no subject
[Estelle would have thought the Aureole was behind this, too, if it wasn't for the fact that it was rubble at the bottom of the lake now. But the fact that there was something else out there that could do something like this.... well that was a bit unsettling.]
The houses seem like a good place to start, if they're open.
no subject
haha. if only.He nods. ]
Doesn't matter if they're open. Let's start there.
[ Yes, he is suggesting breaking and entering. Look, who's gonna care? ]
no subject
[Right, Joshua can probably break in. Or Estelle can kick a door down, whichever works really.
There are two kinds of people]Well, let's go then!
