ou wake in knee-deep water, cold as ice and stagnant, in a space that is far too echoey and spacious. It feels like a massive cave, but looking up... there's only one small, circular opening that shows grey sky and shines any sort of light.

It looks like a long trip upwards, a small cylinder with walls of brick that's just a little too high to reach, even when jumping. Getting out is probably going to be a bit of a task, especially considering the water is more than cold enough to make limbs go numb.

The dark makes it impossible to see much further, but the space seems large, all filled with water, but with no other way out, stone walls the only thing for an intrepid explorer to find.

But most importantly of all... you're not alone.

Welcome to Awash's first intro log, everyone! Please review the FAQ and rules before playing. Characters have all woken at the bottom of the well in the middle of the town (which seems a lot bigger on the inside, somehow), and it looks like they'll have to put in some work to get out.

Once out, they'll be free to explore the various locations the Town has to offer at will. Just try not to die on any of the far-too-rickety walkways.

You panty raided someone's boat?

[Like, to be fair, that's what it sounds like.]

[..yeah about that.]

What? No! I mean maybe sort of but we didn't take anything from the boat so no! We were just moving boxes around to open the windows, everything is still there.

You can't sort of panty raid! Why'd you bring up underwear first, huh?

[Is this the moment that defines the rest of this cohabitation? It might be. Sadly.]

[Like par for the course for John but also NO!!!]

Because that was the first box Minato found! What else was I supposed to do with it?

[Piano Boy is revised to Panty Boy... tragically beautiful.]

Not tell everybody like some kinda creep, probably. ["everybody"] Maybe I shouldn't go look on the boats...

[Okay, this part is just him being a little shit.]

I'm not telling everybody, I am just saying! You could even ask Minato, he will back me up on this. [Hopefully.] But the boats are really dusty anyway besides the underwear problem.

[He's trying his very hardest not to grin, but it's not working very well. Boats, Okuyasu, think about boats--] Guess it's been forever since somebody actually lived here.

[At least it's easy not to be actually offended and he settles for a shrug.]

Forever might be an understatement. The bridges around this area are starting to fall apart, too. But it should be fine if you watch your step. At least the house is still standing.

I didn't kick a hole in any bridges, so maybe we should move out there instead.

[But here, watch him learn the error of his ways and step more delicately around the big hole to keep going up the stairs. He will find this secret item yet...] You been around the whole town yet?

[And he'll follow along while floating and avoiding stepping on anything.]

Most places. There are still some I am trying to get a better look at but I've checked out a lot of the buildings and stuff. And I got a good view from the air. Three districts it looks like.

[Flying is such a cheating move... Okuyasu is intensely focused on not getting stuck again, but he spares a glance up from staring at his feet.]

How can you tell? It all looks like shit, shit, and more shit from down here.

From down here, yeah. Up there the architecture looks different in all three places, plus the ocean and the forest kind of stretch into forever. It's easier to tell from that range but we would have to check out the other districts closer to get an idea what's out there.

I took a walk around but it wasn't much... I guess someone could take a better look.

[Someone with more patience, who isn't Okuyasu. These stairs can't be infinite so now it's time to look around the room up here, which is, so far, pretty much empty... okay.]

Guess it was too much to hope my bike showed up... [upstairs. a motorcycle. upstairs.]

[He'll just follow like some overly blue ghost, checking one room before moving toward another. He's not that thorough, apparently.]

Given that a piano showed up for me, you really think that part is impossible?

[Well if there's a motorcycle, it won't be hard to spot-- unfortunately it's not a motorcycle, so this may take actual looking in dusty corners.]

Maybe? I did kinda cut it in half, so unless they know how to pull stuff outta the void, probably no bike. Would be real cool, though.

[Investigation is a go. It's a little harder when he's not sure what to look for, but he can help out at least. It doesn't hurt to get along with someone who is apparently sharing a house with him. He'll wander back and take the other half of the room Okuyasu hasn't taken.]

I am not sure if I want to know how you cut a bike in half or what the bike did to deserve it. [A grin.] But okay. Bike aside, what is something that is really important to you? The piano is kind of important to me, I guess, even if it is not the first thing I would have picked.

My dead brother, [Okuyasu says automatically, and kicks a dusty wastebasket over as if perhaps his brother will come out, considering it's where he belongs. But without elaborating on that he'll go stare around his side of the room and... brainstorm.] Or Josuke, but if Josuke were here I'd know already. Hey, what's— nope, it's shit.

[This adventure accompanied by the sound of whatever he just picked up crumbling right out of his hands. What the shit. He isn't moving away from his spot, but The Hand will do a sick as fuck fade in from nowhere and hover toward the other side of the room, looking at whatever John is scoping out.

Ah, and,] The Hand cuts bikes in half. Don't worry about it.

[What the fuck Okuyasu. There's an "uh" from John because what the hell do you say to that? But luckily he keeps talking so John doesn't have to.

He suddenly looks up at the--whatever the fuck this is, he doesn't know, this is weird??--being that fades out and then fades back in across the room. Give him a few moments to stare.]

What the fuck is the Hand?

[Are dead brothers not socially acceptable enough?? John asked, and Okuyasu's answers to that question are all people in various states of... dead or unwell (or Josuke). Just "uh" and move on.

Okuyasu looks over his shoulder at John, then at the big tin can dude, then at John again. He gestures, pointedly.]

That's The Hand, c'mon, what else d'you think I'd be talking about? [Some people fly, some people have huge dude summons, it's fine.] You ever heard of a "fighting sprit"? There it is.

[Given everyone John knows is dead, it's probably fine. It was sudden and it's fine but like. Whatever. Uh and move on. He tilts his head a little as he turns to face The Hand, a hand lifting up to wave in front of it like it'll disappear.]

I had no idea. But no, fighting spirit is not familiar to me. But it's basically just a summon right? What else can he do besides wreck bikes?

[Well, it doesn't disappear, but it doesn't do anything else besides hover there either. Okuyasu picks up a piece of trash from the wastebasket he kicked.]

Wreck anything! Here, watch— [And he tosses the trash at The Hand, which swipes at said trash like it's spiking a ball, but there is no ball and also no trash, either, as it disappears on contact with The Hand's... hand. Tada. Okuyasu may be crouched on the floor going through garbage, but he still has time to look proud of himself.]

And I hit pretty hard.

[Whoa...]

That's awesome. You could basically break your way through anything with this thing. Does everybody have a fighting spirit where you're from?

Damn right, it's awesome! [YEAH!!!!] But nah, not everybody. Pretty much everyone I know, though... So like a dozen people in my hometown?

No different than our abilities then. A few of our friends have their own powers but not everybody. On the other hand, have you met any of the people with Quirks yet? Izuku told me it's more common for people from their world to have them than not.

Oh, yeah! That girl, Ochako, the one who can make stuff float! She lifted me up in the air like it was nothing!
