Intro Log.

Pussy's in the well. Who put her in? Little Johnny Thin. Who pulled her out? Little Tommy Stout. What a naughty boy was that, To try to drown poor pussy cat, Who never did him any harm, But killed all the mice in the farmer's barn.
Welcome to Awash's first intro log, everyone! Please review the FAQ and rules before playing. Characters have all woken at the bottom of the well in the middle of the town (which seems a lot bigger on the inside, somehow), and it looks like they'll have to put in some work to get out.

ou wake in knee-deep water, cold as ice and stagnant, in a space that is far too echoey and spacious. It feels like a massive cave, but looking up... there's only one small, circular opening that shows grey sky and shines any sort of light.
ii.
[Joshua probably heard Minato coming a mile away (he's not very stealthy and he's still kind of wet from the well), but that's fine. He approaches, hands tucked in his pockets still as he crouches next to Joshua and squints down at the water.]
Like...water doesn't have a color anyway, right? Not really. But this is just weird.
no subject
But that's fine with him, too. The footsteps aren't trying to hide themselves, they're not moving with the speed or the rhythm he'd expect from someone moving to attack. Between that and the oddity of their situation, he'd be quite surprised if whoever was coming turned out to be hostile.
So he doesn't move or even look back when he hears Minato coming. He's not worried - not about him, anyway. ]
I can't decide if there's more to it than that or not.
no subject
More importantly--]
What are you thinking..? [He's curious... he only has his own impressions, so maybe he can learn something new from Joshua's?]
no subject
I can't imagine what would do this to a place. But I don't think this is natural.
[ - well. He can imagine a few possibilities, but "someone used the Aureole to create a creepy town with no colors and drop a bunch of random strangers in together" seems far-fetched, even for the situation they're in now. He's not putting that forward as a theory unless he gets really desperate. ]
no subject
... Well.]
... We're here now. And all of us seem fine. [Colors and all!!]
So I guess... we should try to figure it all out. Just what happened here...and where everyone went.
no subject
[ Very casual, because, you know. Climbing the roofs. It's just a thing we all do. ]
I doubt we'll find anyone without going beyond the forest.
[ Which is going to be far easier said than done. ]
no subject
Why does everyone in this town have roof climbing capabilities, and how does he learn...?]
I think you're right. None of these boats look like we could take them very far on the water, so... [The forest is their next best option.]
no subject
And you'd have to go far, from the look of it.
[ Not much on that horizon that he can spot aside from water, water, and more water. Definitely farther than any of these piece of junk boats look capable of. Although now that he thinks about it... ]
I wonder if we can find some binoculars or something.
[ Who knows what might be lying around in those houses? ]
no subject
Or a telescope? Maybe.
[How old are those things even.]
Some of the boat houses might have something like that, if people really did take them sailing. Ever. [Seems kind of doubtful at this point.]
no subject
No time like the present to look, I guess.
no subject
[Not like they have anything better to do!!]
I'll help. Let's see what we can find.
[First boathouse... THISAWAY.]
no subject
...well, if it's locked, who are we kidding, Joshua still knows how to get in there. ]
no subject
For now, Minato pushes open the door, peering in and...coughing a little as they stir up years' worth of dust.
Eeurgh.]
no subject
Once in, he runs a finger along the nearest dusty surface, and looks at the dust he's picked up with a frown. ]
Too bad we can't get any more specific than "a long time."
no subject
Wheeze.]
It doesn't look like someone's been here in a really long time, you're right.
[Like way, way too long.]
Long enough that...we're probably not going to find them anywhere around here, right?
no subject
Long gone. Or...
[ ...and then frowns. ]
...no, they'd have to have left.
[ There haven't been any corpses, that he's seen. ]
no subject
[HE REFUSES TO ENTERTAIN THE THOUGHT OF AN ENTIRE DEAD TOWN.]
Maybe they went somewhere far away after the color disappeared...?
no subject
I don't think it's too big an assumption that they're related, at the very least.
no subject
He doesn't want to think about it!!]
I guess... them leaving could've made it disappear too? Depending on how this town works. [The cause and effect is kind of fuzzy here.]
no subject
[ He considers. ]
That would still leave us with the question of what could make an entire town pack up and leave all at once, though.
no subject
No matter what possibilities I think of, none of them are good.
no subject
[ Here to be morbid so you don't have to. ]
no subject
So you think we can safely assume those things didn't happen?
no subject
no subject
[It might've been bad but at least it wasn't that bad, in other words.]
