OPEN 🦇 August
WHO: Bruce + OTA
WHERE: Eeeeeverywhere
WHEN: August Catch-All
WHAT: I mean, he doesn't really talk to people much, now does he?
WARNINGS: He'll probably brood, at one point.
[ For the most part, Bruce keeps to himself. If you're looking for him, it'll be easy to find him doing a few things:
1) Taking care of the animals around his cottage -- a cow, a goat, fire-breathing geese, his german shepherd, and sometimes a small black and white cat.
2) Fishing in Bluo, usually using Damian's houseboat as the point to fish from.
3) Breaking down the rotted out houses in Flavo for what wood is salvageable and what isn't. Trying to make them and the other overgrown parts of Flavo a little safer for exploration.
4) Mostly just collecting things for survival -- fruits and plants and the like.
5) More than that too, if it can be done solo and is for the good of the town, you can likely find him doing it.
He's approachable, even if he's just a quiet dude. ]

QUESTS
Quest 23 - Does Bruce wanna be pretty
Hi! [Is that enough to get Bruce's attention?]
he DOES
Then he hears the Hi! and that's enough to get him to turn around, raising an eyebrow at Roxas. ]
Hello.
[ Is it enough! ]
no subject
There was a quest that said to make flower crowns for someone worthy, and I thought of you.
[This might also be a ploy to see if he can get Bruce to even crack a hint of a smile.]
I am here finally!! talking about plants
As soon as the door opens, he pushes the ketchup bottles out towards Bruce in offering.]
Hey. [It's a fine greeting, he thinks.] Sorry to invite myself over, but my house already has three housemates, and now I've got more than a handful of people who won't leave me alone.
[It's quieter here, in other words.]
SA...ME....
He also reads the nutritional information on the bottles, to make sure he's dealing with ketchup here. ]
I thought it would be easier to test things here anyway. We have a spare bedroom, I've outfitted it for odds and ends. We can try things there.
[ It's where he cuts wood or reads books or makes... weird... shit. It's a study, but a bit more messier than one would think. Inside it, there are a few bookshelves, tables and chairs. All of it handmade either by Bruce (or more likely, Clark). They're piled with books from the library, samples of things he's gathered from the woods, or tools for experimentation (also handmade). There's also the faint scent of blood, if Guren's nose is sensitive enough to pick it up, from animals he's dissected in the space.
... He really needs to get his own batcave, huh. ]
no subject
...Sure.
[I wish his nose wasn't sensitive enough, but it is. He knows it well, after all. He already has his own special place. An apothecary he uses magic to keep hidden from human eye that's not used to seeing past illusions. He dissects animals, experiments on them, and takes drugs himself, to see what the side effects are. Usually with nasty, extreme results.
Once they're in the room, he sets his stuff down and hands Bruce a stack of papers. The information is detailed and scientific, showing that Guren (and Ryo, since there are two types of handwriting here) are both familiar with working with things like this. It details what exactly each plant does to the human body in different amounts, or when combined with others. One plant may "encourage the body to work past its limits", for example, but when ingested in high quantities, can push it into overdrive and cause organs to explode.
How does he know this? A mystery.]
Before you ask, I'm going off what I know from my own world. Since we're dealing with a world that lost 90% of its population and is threatened by monsters and vampires, it's probably not the sort of research you're used to.
