[So, Kaoru knew nothing about building boats. But you know what she is good for? Heavy lifting.

So excuse her as she comes back to the harbour with a few tree trunks floating after her.]

[Keigo also knows nothing about building boats, proving they're off to an excellent start.]

What kind of boat are we making? If we're tying logs together like we're lost on a deserted island and making a raft, we need more than that.

It’s not the size that matters, it’s the construction.

[Shiho, thankfully, knows about building boats. Especially after cheating and taking a quick look at the construction of the house boats.]

We’re going to make a houseboat. [Because go big or go home.]

[She drops the tree trunks on the sand.]

A boat house. [She believe Shiho can walk them through this but a boat house is a tall order.] ...is this enough wood for that?

[He doesn't know how to make a boat, and he doesn't know how to make a house. Combining them probably isn't going to make the knowledge for either magically appear.]

What good is having a house on the boat if the boat doesn't even float?

It could be a boat house for dogs. [mutant blue dogs, that is.]

And don’t go around saying something unlucky like that before we’ve even built it.

Don't worry! If Shiho tells us how to build it there's no way it won't float!

[Look, even if she thinks Shiho's asking for a lot as her best friend she's going to support her 100%.]

[Keigo considers Shiho's credentials. He did find her in the library once. People who willingly go into libraries are usually smart.

The problem with knowing if it's enough wood is you can't tell when it's still a tree. We need boards and planks!

[This is the way she likes to work: with her in charge and everyone else just doing what she says without question.]

Then let’s start with the boards. We can always cut them again afterwards. Kaoru-chan, will you do the honors?

[She expects a Psychic Chainsaw or Psychic Woodworking out of you, best bud.]

[She makes a motion like she's rolling up her sleeves...except she's not really. It's just for show.

Then she flies over the logs, and holds out a hand, two fingers pointed towards the wood logs. Focusing her power at the tips of her fingers, she aims then...]

Psychic Chainsaw! [(You know her so well.)

There's nothing visible but as she moves over the log a thin cut forms over it. When she reaches the end one thin side falls over onto the sand.]

That's one! [Okay, so it's not a board because the edge of the tree was rounded but the next one will be!] If someone can move that to the side I'll start cutting the next piece!

[Floating logs he can handle. Floating Kaoru and cutting wood without touching it is starting to get weird.

But maybe he should do what the person who can cut trees by holding out her hand asks.

Maybe he also doesn't like his chances of who will win if he argues with Shiho about which one of them should do it.]

[It's not too hard of a job when he just needs to slide it over a bit.]

[This really is nice?? Shiho doesn’t react much other than to hide a smile as Kaoru says exactly the thing she had been thinking.]

I think you can just start stacking them over on the side.

[And what’s she going to do? Take a seat in the shade and watch, of course.]

Maybe you should carry a few so you can really tell if they're good enough.

They’re about a third of a centimeter too thick but they’re pretty uniform so it should be fine. Keep up the good work, Asano-chan!

[She salutes Shiho and was about to go start on the next log but she pauses and looks to Keigo.]

You're probably not going to win this one. [Because Shiho pretty much always gets her way.] We'll treat you to some food later, okay?

[It'll be mushrooms. Because she has so many of those damn things now, between her box and Shiho's.]

[He slides another board to the finished pile.]

But food sounds like a good plan, Kaoru-chan. We can finally use up some of those mushrooms.

[Finishing up the second log! And she smiles brightly at them both.]

I can even put something on top of them to make them look like boobs!

Mushrooms are okay, but boob mushrooms are even better.

It's not sinking in that mushrooms are all he's getting.]

Did you get a big box of them out of nowhere? I got coffee in mine.

Shiho sighs and begins to (terribly) sketch out what kind of shape she intends the boat to be.]

We have two boxes actually.

It'd be nice if we could have gotten different things. [Because like...who wants to eat that many mushrooms???] By coffee do you mean something that's already drinkable or are they just coffee beans?

Just the beans. Do you want some? I gave away a bowl of them, but the rest are just sitting there because I don't know what to do with coffee beans.

[As long as Kaoru keeps cutting up logs, Keigo will keep moving them around.]

Should I keep piling the boards up, or do we need them somewhere else?

Kaoru-chan could probably crush them. [Maybe?? Shiho doesn’t really drink coffee but maybe someone else would find a use for the ground beans.]

Keep piling them up for now. We’re going for a... leaf shape? ....But I wonder how you make the planks bend... [By force?]
