With every sheaf are bound! We are the blessing which annuls The curse upon the ground! And he who reaps the Golden Grain The Golden Love hath found.
Welcome to Awash's seventh event log/first intro log hybrid, everyone! If there are any questions, please ask them here, and don't forget to welcome all of the new players here! Thank you!

he setting is actually rather miraculous. In the center of the Town, not far from the well, there are tables set up, complete with bright orange tableclothes, and at the tables, there is a spot for each and every character, both new and old. They have a fancy

You said across. We crossed! We're here.
( he was only following directives!! luckily jon does know how to fly, it isn't his awkward leaps across areas or anything like that anymore, so--he had full confidence in not dunking them both, and now that damian's back on the floor, tucks his hand comfortably into the pockets of his jeans, hovers just a bit behind him. )
You know I wouldn't let you drown, like, ever.
( that's against the friend code. and he doesn't hit his head, doesn't even get close. )
no subject
[He could be petty and make the door lower later without telling Jon... just so Jon misjudges and hits the top. Maybe.] Sure. That's why we both probably drowned before we woke up in the well.
[He steals a glance over his shoulder briefly--it was a low blow--but he offers no apology. Instead, he turns and keeps winding inside the boathouse. It's not very big, more like a mini home. A small kitchen lacking a fridge, having an old medieval wood stove, some counter space. A very simple, old-school bathroom going straight into the harbor. A bare-bones, tiny den. A single bedroom. He hasn't done much interior decorating, but there's evidence of a bit of remodeling for the sake of not sinking.
A claustrophobic stairwell leads to a hatch that lets out onto the deck on top.]
This way.
no subject
there's no further comment on it, but his expression speaks for itself: corners of his lips turned down into a depressing frown, brows furrowed even as he keeps pace with damian. eyes the layout of his tiny boathouse and tries to remember where everything is.
when they reach the top hatch is when he bothers speaking up again, eyes focusing on the hatch instead of damian himself. )
Sorry.
no subject
[He edges down past Jon, then turns and keeps going. At the bottom of the stairs, the guilt is so bad he can't stand it. Or ignore it. Seeing Jon's face that way, knowing he caused it.]
Jon.
[He turns around to look back up. His friend had been trying to help him live, and that is more than he could honestly ask for.] You're right. We didn't die. I was almost at the surface. Likely, we were pulled into another wormhole. [He's not completely convinced, but he needs to reassure Jon!!] Besides.
I'm a Wayne. As if I'm just going to die drowning. In your dreams.
no subject
You're stronger than that, D. Even if I couldn't swim us up, you would've found a way to save both of us. I believe in you.
( that's why they're partners, right? better together than either of them could be separately. whether or not damian himself will admit to it out loud, jon knows he believes it. )
And you're just saying that to make me feel better, because you're not as big of a jerk as you try to pretend you are.

In the bedroom, Damian digs up all of his organized things. The ones that'd be most important for Jon right now. He thinks Clark will divulged the rest, clarify things in a better way than Damian could clarify them knowing... how he is.
In a few minutes, he ascends up through the hatch and onto the deck, his own laptop under one arm and his other cradling a very crude-looking notebook and a rolled up scroll. Clutched in one hand is a mug.] Here.
This is general map of the town. [It's semi-circular, with Bluo cresting the water and harbor and Flavo and Ruga at the top cresting the forest. The public garden and library have been marked, the well. A few locations have been marked, but they aren't detailed with anything but a star and an initial. D, I, G, J. Three are maybe familiar. BW + SK and CK.] Here's a list of people in town. Some of them aren't here anymore.
[That's the notebook, compiled from Izuku's notes. Some of the names have been crossed out. Others have been given the special treatment of having a star. Hm.] Are you on your laptop yet? Go look at the quest forum.
And here. I guess. [He offers Jon the mug. It smells like tea, and the water is greenish. It's matcha.]
no subject
the mug is take with a smile, a soft "thank you" before jon raises it to his lips to take a sip. his expression speaks volumes on the bitterness of it, but despite the way jon wrinkles his nose he still goes in for another sip. )
So, ( with his cat hair invested hand moving for the map. ) BW is your dad, right? And CK is mine. SK is Selina Kyle, your almost step mom.
( since it's next to BW. makes sense. )
Who is everyone else?
no subject
It’s matcha tea. It was a reward. It has color, so it has taste. If food here has no color, it tastes like ash. [Savor your damn PB&J, Jon.] Astute observation.
This is Dextera. [Damian, having sat by Jon, points over his laptop to the D.] The one who can’t speak. He lives there. He has chickens, if you need eggs.
This is Izuku Midoriya. He is keeping a list of people and mythological creatures that might appear here. He’s too nice for his own good. Reminds me a lot of someone else. [And is strong as fuck, but he doesn’t know the extent of that yet.] He’s from some world where people are required by law to have a hero license. Anyway.
This is Guren Ichinose. He’s a jacksss. But he runs the “defense force” here. I don’t think he’s completely human, but he claims he is. I tried to fight him.
This is Josuke Higashikata. He can heal with his Stand. Don’t ask. Just have him show you. If you’re injured, go to him. Fair warning: he is a moron.
no subject
damian's great at listing information that's important to remember, leaving unnecessary bits out. which benefits them both: jon actually listens instead of getting distracted by too many details and zoning out, and damian doesn't have to repeat himself.
another sip of tea, and jon presses his lips together, hums soft. )
So our goal is to complete quests, right? And try not to get hurt, of course. And not touch the water. And be careful of magic.
no subject
I think there's a magical force keeping people from leaving--both in the water and through the forest.
[He shrugs one shoulder dismissively, eyes dropping to Alfred. What a spoiled cat. Geez...]
We're assuming--for now--our goal is to restore color. Doing quests will often assist in this later. Everyone has a hexadecimal code attached to their handle, thus attached to them. Yellow, red, blue, remember?
I've noticed some of the colors being restored aren't traditional colors for whatever the item is. For example, let's say sometimes apples are purple. Purple is red and blue. I don't know yet if we have to get the colors correct.
All of this revolves around... fairy tales. Or folktales. You'll see--the "quests," the creatures, the story on the forum. All the books in the library are fairy tales. It's almost as if we're stuck in some Grimm's coloring book.
Oh: be careful in the forest. There's mutated animals, aggressive ones. The forest likes to trick or punish you, too. It can be explored, but it's dangerous.
no subject
( that's a lot of information in a short amount of time, hopefully--hopefully jon will remember it all. it's a lot of stuff to memorize all at once and he isn't the worst and getting stuff down. restoring color is clear enough, don't go into the water(probably), don't go into the forest(without help), faeries and fairy tale books and stuff about grimm and all the quests and where people are around the city, who does what. . )
So we're getting color back into stuff by quests but sometimes not the right color and we're supposed to do quests based off of color stuff, the forum keeps track of stuff, the library is full of fairy tales and this is like some real bad, dangerous coloring book.
Sounds ( terrifying? ) like we can handle it.
no subject
Naturally.
[It does--get him to smirk a bit? One of the handfuls of times he's actually, legitimately smiled in this God forsaken place.] J--
[No, he doesn't think he can say it right now. That he's happy Jon is here. Maybe later. Quickly, he shakes his head dismissively.] It's not so bad. A toddler could do half of what's required of us here.
Just... Don't be stupid. About the town. It likes to show you a lot of illusions.
no subject
but he does nod his head in agreement, hardens his expression. gives damian an affirmative nod. )
I won't. I'll be careful. ( not to get hurt, not to be stupid. he can probably manage that. ) We've got Batman and Superman here, right? I'm sure we'll be fine.
( even if batman is fulltime bruce. still counts. )
no subject
Are you always going to run to our fathers when things get out of hand? Tt. We can do things on our own, you know.
no subject
( strong enough to handle most stuff that gets thrown at them, including that time with damian's mom and his mom and that whole mess. )
I believe in us.
no subject
I'll remember that the next time you say we should tell our fathers about something going on. [It's fine. They're dads. They'll know anyway. Maybe not as keen as Mom Senses, but close enough.] I've debriefed you as well as I can.
You're going to need some new clothes.
no subject
Sometimes it's better to ask for permission rather than forgiveness later.
( sometimes it's the opposite. damian knows how it goes. )
Where do we go to get clothes here?
no subject
Poor Alfred, of course, seems offended that he is denied the occupation of a lap. He thwaps his tail back and forth once or twice before prancing off to the other side of the deck to sulk and brood.] We don't go anywhere. This isn't the Manhattan Mall.
We're going to have to find you some in the town, wash them, then tailor them to fit. [He brandishes his hand at himself. See these sick duds, my dude.] Unless you're willing to merge the SB and J identities.
Wouldn't advise it, just in case someone else from our world not privy decides to show up.
no subject
( about the identity thing. jon--doesn't really like keeping secrets but he understands this particular one. not having to be superboy or jon but being able to be himself regardless of what clothes he was wearing without hiding particular pieces of himself would be ideal. but he also knows the chances of that actually happening are extremely slim. it's not safe for his mom if he was out. or anyone else. )
You ready to go? I can leave my stuff here.
no subject
It shouldn't take very long to find something to work with. I have plenty of scrap left here too, plus needle and thread. [Thanks, Izuku.] Just try not to sink my house when you take off.
no subject
After you. ( since damian knows where he's going. )
no subject
He's already walking by the time his feet hit the dock.] Come on then. [They're already in Bluo, so they'll start here.] What kind of clothes do you want? I assume you're keeping the denim?
So you'll need a shirt, maybe a hood. We can make warmer clothes later when and if the seasons begin to change.
no subject
I like jeans. But these ones probably won't last too much longer. ( with. a glance down to all the rips and tears already in them. ) I usually go through a lot of them back home. Guess I'll have to learn to be a little more careful now.
( but also-- )
Stuff that doesn't rip easy's probably best.
