[ on the 29th of july there's an odd sketchy figure on the roof of john and dave's place. there's some features filled in - the shades, anyway, and too-white hair just now, and defined hands. no mouth, but who needs those?

like he usually does, dave lounges on the roof and sort of sulks a little, uncertain of how much he wants to keep regaining his features at all. there's too many things looming after he regains the ability to speak and communicate again, although he thinks at this rate it's maybe coming.

so if for some reason you're around ruga rooftops on the 29th, maybe you can have a short game of charades. or a game of writing, since he does have a quill pen he's twirling idly. ]

OPEN: CHILLING

[ otherwise you can catch dave in person all through the month. on the first through the third until we get missions he'll mostly be hanging out around his house or in the community garden. you can catch him:

a) in the library, perusing fairy tales and looking a little exhausted.
b) in the garden, growing things. if you've ever wanted to see dave do time bullshit, feel free to pop in. he's planting some new seeds collected from his friends, and the process is dig a little hole, put the seed in, cover it, and sit there with his hands over the hole as he works time magic to speed it up until a little sprout peeks through. rinse and repeat!
c) attempting to do some sewing mending on the front step of his and john's house in ruga. he just has a basket of scavenged clothes and linens and some thread and a needle and is carefully going to town.
d) loitering around dirk's place in ruga frowning but not really going inside...
e) walking around town with a bucket. inside the bucket is his lobster. they are going for a walk. hello! ]

[So. This is after the entire forum post, but Minato's... mostly just really relieved to see Dave whole and in one piece. So when he finds him there, in the garden, working his magic... Minato just kind of watches for a bit, and then takes a seat not far from the plot of land, cross-legged.

He's just going to take a moment to be really, really relieved that Dave's okay, okay......... it's important.]

[ "okay" is relative but he is at least alive. dave notices minato eventually - or even when he comes up. but dave waits until he's grown what he's working on before he sits back on his heels and turns his head towards minato. ]

here's the simple truth of the matter: it isn't a month gone by if he hasn't done a dumb thing with keith. granted last month talking about memories was actually not stupid but there isn't anything too serious this month so far. dave picks the dumbest one to ask keith about - he debates unicorns but don't you have to be a virgin for that? asking if someone's a virgin just seems Awkward as fuck. but the holding hands battle sounds dumb and the list of people dave actually wants to hold hands with is pretty small even though he'd probably do it with whoever asked.

so, anyway. dave texts keith and they met up at the edge of the woods and dramatically holds out his right hand. ]

You're right handed right? [ so daves right and keith's left... ]

[Not doing terrible dumb things with Dave is honestly bad for Keith's well-being. He's better off when their stupid adventures are actively a thing. So he certainly didn't hesitate to agree to this quest.

Even if it sounds a bit ridiculous. Kill a monster. Holding hands.

But why not. And if he's got to hold hands, Dave's hand is a good one! One of the best, honestly.

Primarily, yeah.

[He favors his right hand but can use his left pretty well too by now. So whatever works best for Dave. As it is, he'll hold out his left hand to take Dave's.]

So I guess we just have to hang on. And not get killed.

DAMIAN: APPLES

so dave sees damian's offer to shoot things off heads and like. why not? he's available? he has apples? so he arranges to meet damian in the community garden near the apple trees and can be found...juggling three apples. he's not bad? he must have practiced a lot. when he sees damian he catches them and stops though, two in his left hand and one in his right. ]

Hey, what's up? My only stipulation here is I get to eat the apple after, for the record.

[If Damian is impressed by the juggling, he doesn't give any indication. Honestly? He isn't impressed even if he should be because he can also juggle. And because his standards are so high they might as well be the numbers 420.

[It's time to train! Sora has finally got himself set up with the Defence Force and he's ready and raring to go. He's happy to be able to have a chance to help out and to give back a little to the town because they all need to work together to make things safe for everyone. And while Sora doesn't really have any household skills fighting comes quite naturally to him.

So, here he is with keyblade in hand. He has stronger keyblades with him but he figured he didn't need a stronger one for just a simple training session. Unless his partner wants him to go full ham?]

so. dave had asked damian if he'd be down to ninja a "moondrop heart" away (he's not sure if this is a plant, a gemstone, or some kind of creature's actual heart but he's hoping for NOT the latter?) and damian said he had a perfect third person and that has led to this very day and hour...of a castle smack dab in the middle of the woods.

dave is dressed casually in his black jeans for this, but opted to borrow a dark black (maybe? who knows what color it truly is in chroma) peasant sweater to cover up his bright red and white shirt.

he's crouched down looking at the castle dubiously and then glances at damian. ]

[Unfortunately, Damian has met Dave as simply Damian. Even if secret identities don't make a damn bit of difference here, for integrity's sake, he doesn't show up as Robin.

So that's why he brings Jon. What he lacks in contingency plans with the suit, he makes up for in contingency plans with Jon's super powers. This leaves him in the altered peasant clothes which already look pretty ninja-y on their own, a style he prefers.] Fine. [Dave's worst mistake. Damian loves being in charge.

He thumbs over his shoulder at Jon.] Superboy. [He's not sure if they've met already or not. He glances at Jon.] Dave Strider.

We need to do this as quietly and as quickly as possible.

dave isn't fully up to date on what all went down in the underwater exploration stuff, but he'd gotten a "let's chat" message from shiho that led into "so hey unicorns" so now they've just met outside of the woods. ]

I think girls are traditionally supposed to have more luck with unicorns but I want to pet one.

[Okay so maybe she has an ulterior motive for getting him here since she wanted to check what had happened to him when he was brought back to life. But that doesn’t mean they can’t enjoy petting a unicorn too while they’re at it. (All the better really since that meant she’d have a distraction to use.)]
