Will They Save The Day? Neigh!
Who: Maribelle + You! Mingle log!
What: As the wolves descend upon the town, Maribelle decides she's not letting them lay a finger - er, fang? - on the horses. Come help defend them, attack them, or find them!
Where: Stable of Flavo / Around Town
When: Throughout the event!
Warnings: Blood/etc possibility? Werewolves, after all.
Calm Before the Storm
Maybe you heard it via word of mouth, or perhaps you're wandering the streets and just spot a bunch of people in front of the stable. Either way, Maribelle is there, and soon is joined by Tonbikiri and others. Now that they have some idea what's going on, Maribelle had a fair guess that these beasts would be after fresh, defenseless meat. So she's set up a make-shift bed (blanket on the grass, really) , gathered her tomes and staff, and now sits in front of it, making small-talk to anyone around her.
"Naturally, we'll take shifts to get a proper night's sleep... though knowing my dear horse may be in danger will honestly prevent me from getting any sleep."
Attack At The Stable
They're here! Wolves of both regular and were variety! Maribelle is on her feet in seconds, hoping her Fire tome will be enough to scare them off. Are you here to help defend the horses? Or did you get bitten, and now desire the tasty flesh both in and outside of the stables? Either way, bring it on!
"You will not take another step closer!"
Where Is My War Horse?
Unfortunately, a lot can happen in the heat of battle - like one of the doors flying open. Some of the horses have galloped away in fear, and Maribelle is trying to find them before someone else - something else - does. She has a tome under one arm, staff in the other, running around as fast as her feet can take her.
"They can't have gotten far... Please, oh, I'll never forgive myself if something happens to them...!"
((OOC: feel free to reply to mari and/or make your own top-level for everyone to hit!))

Or just that sometimes, life doesn't always go the way you'd like it to.

Smiling to try and dispel the gravity of his thoughts, he asks,]
Are there any stories that stand out to you? Perhaps one that you'd recommend I read next, if I can find it?

Oh? Even just the ideas brought to mind by those titles are interesting. I shall keep an eye out for those next I am at the library. Thank you.

If you don't mind, I will then. It ... might be a little while, though. I hope that's all right.
[Not much free time for reading right now, unfortunately. Wolf emergency and all. Ah- but thinking of...]
If I may ask, do you happen to know any lore about these wolves we are fighting? Anything at all, even if you think it's common knowledge, would be helpful to me.
[Because Japan doesn't have much in the way of werewolf stories.]

... Honestly, all I really know is that they're supposed to be bad with silver? Getting bitten turns you into one of them, and transforming is supposed to be triggered by a full moon.
no subject
Mm. The moon was unusually bright, last night. A shame I do not have any silver, but it is very good to know that their bite will carry that sort of curse.
Thank you, Amano-dono. That was very helpful. Of course, if there is anything I can ever do for you in turn, you have but ask.

I- I couldn't possibly! We have only just met... [That is far too casual!]

[ this never happens. ]

[Has he ever had someone protest his use of -dono quite like this before...]
no subject
Well, I promise not to be offended, but even "Amano-san" is fine. Then again, given your time period, maybe I shouldn't be too surprised...

[He rubs at his neck uncertainly. They are both from Japan, and yet even things like this can be quite different, can't they.]
For now, I hope you can forgive my, ah, traditional ways? But if you insist, I can try...

[ He's clearly not?? ]

I had many years to observe the life around me, but interacting with it has been another matter all together. Twice-over, if you include the fact that us touken danshi don't usually interact much with humans while on mission.
If you ever see me step too far out of line over something, I would thank you to correct me again.
