[He doubts that sort of rational thinking will help, but he can at least try. Lupin hasn't attacked him yet, so Lupin isn't dead set on hurting him. There's still a chance he can deescalate this.]
Oh, the geese are horrible. How can you say that? They'll bite you. Awful things.
[ the rational thinking, indeed, doesn't seem to do very much. In fact, Lupin takes a step towards him, his eyes never blinking or leaving Akira's. ]
The forest is dangerous. I'd rather dine in. Here... Ah... [ suddenly, he raises a hand - or more like a paw, at this point - to his forehead, as if in pain, and he slowly sags down to one knee. ]
[This is the perfect chance; he should just run away while Lupin is distracted. But before he even tries, he knows he won't.
He can't just leave Lupin here to run into another citizen, perhaps one less equipped to fight him off than himself. And... he can't just abandon Lupin if he's hurting.
[ he groans, shaking his head. His face can't emote very much anymore, but he certainly sounds like he's suffering. His lupine ears are tilted back in discomfort. ]
Not thinking straight...
[ to say the least. Who could think straight when they're this hungry? His face feels so strange; for the first time, he notices that it's probably different from usual. ]
But Akira feels slightly heartened by that response. Maybe the real Lupin is breaking through, overcoming his instinct? If he is, maybe Akira can get him to a safe place for the night, and he can hide there until morning.]
Lupin-san... let's get you somewhere safe. You can wait it out till tomorrow.
[ the walls start breaking down as Akira draws nearer to him; he can smell him through the coat and mask, the fragrance of flesh and blood, and it's sweet enough to drive him mad. He opens his mouth, and he says: ]
Got you.
[ That's the only warning he gives before he suddenly launches forward, his full weight crashing into Akira's chest. The danger of doing this on a rooftop doesn't even occur to him. All he can think about is how hungry he is, and wonder why he was holding back before, and how wonderful it will feel to finally satisfy that desire - his mouth is open and full of fangs that he plunges into Akira's shoulder without reservation. ]
Stupid, stupid, stupid. He let his guard down, and left an opening. Of course Lupin was able to get him then; he should have been smarter, should have incapacitated him.
Akira grunts as he goes down, though doesn't cry out, even as the fangs pierce him. It hurts like fire coursing through him, he can see stars burst in his vision, wind knocked out of his chest, but he doesn't scream. Instead, he looks around wildly for a solution.
They're close to the edge of the roof, and he pulls his feet up, under Lupin's stomach, and kicks, as hard as he can, to try and get him off.]
[ That little voice telling him not to attack Akira is screaming out, but it's hardly audible to him. All he can concentrate on is how good it feels to finally feel meat between his teeth and blood on his tongue. Why would he ever listen? This feels so much better. He starts to dig his fangs in, planning to pull him apart so he can actually have a meal --
But Lupin's curse gave him a werewolf head and paws, not a werewolf body. He's not a particularly large or stocky man, and Akira's kick, unexpected as it is, easily knocks him off-balance. His bite-grip loosens as the pain shoots through him, and when he takes a step backwards, there's nothing there to support him. With a canine yelp, he tumbles off the edge of the building. ]
[The teeth coming out hurt, and the moment he's free Akira grips his shoulder, feeling warm, sticky blood coat his fingers. He winces, wondering if any of his status effect healing spells will work on this, and guessing not.
He sits up gingerly, and leans slowly over the edge of the roof, eyes searching the dark for Lupin. Even though Lupin was trying to make a snack of him, Akira doesn't want to kill him, and he prays that he won't see a prone body under the gables.
Hopefully he's more durable now that he's a werewolf.]
