[ He squirms underneath Cairn's hands futilely - it's immensely frustrating to his fogged-up brain that these little hands are so strong, and that his bite didn't work? The half-lucid reasoning he'd displayed earlier seems to have disappeared entirely. Not that it matters much; Cairngorm is clearly much stronger than he is, even like this.
Which also means that kick hits its mark very well. Lupin makes a noise exactly like a dog being kicked, a pathetic whimper, and his grip loosens as he stumbles backwards, gripping his stomach in pain. That'll buy a few seconds, at least. ]
[ Ew, they definitely don't like the sound of that; the sound of inflicting pain on something else is still something they aren't used to given the fact that Lunarians never made a sound when they were destroyed. But what has to be done, has to be done, they suppose, while they scramble for the handle of their blade in the few seconds they earn.
It takes every second they're given to successfully get the saw into their hands, having to get down on a knee to quickly scoop it up from the ground. To go after retrieving it means they have to leave their back open to him, which likely isn't the best course of action - but they just want to be armed and keep the blade out of his hands (its probably the only thing around remotely close to being able to break them). They're late to turn back around, given how they stumble to get back up on two feet, but they do what they can to swing back around to face him, since they assume he'll be on their heels. ]
[ They're overestimating his abilities here just slightly, or his ability to withstand getting essentially hit in the gut with a boulder. Cairngorm has more than enough time to pick up their weapon again. When they turn around, they'll see him hacking a little bit, crouching down to rest on all fours. (Fortunately for everyone, he doesn't throw up the spam he ate earlier today.)
That saw is extremely threatening-looking, and, addled as he is, he still feels a little bit of unease looking at it. Maybe that's why he doesn't get up to chase after Cairn just yet. Instead, he stays squatting where he is, shaking his head and making that same dog-whine again. ]
Oh-- Oh, really? You're the one who just tried to eat me!!
[ Now they're mad. They raise their voice at him, the pitch going up just out of their anger-- the fact that he has the audacity to say that after trying to come after them pisses them off, enough to cloud that fear for a few moments. The point their blade at him, their free hand clenched into a fist at their side. ]
You've lost your mind, Lupin. What if I had not been made of crystal, huh? Do you want to be responsible for killing other humans?
[ It's still a little scary, approaching him, but they also know they are likely the only one suited to handling these beasts without fear of harm. So they advance, keeping their blade brandished in front of them but intending to grab at his shoulder, absolutely scowling. ]
[ well, this is a first for him in this form - nobody's dared approach him like this, and he's especially never actually had to be on the defensive. But he is here. He's lucid enough to look at that horrible saw-blade-thing and know deeply and acutely that he doesn't want to be on the receiving end of it.
He couldn't bite them, which leaves him at a loss for what to do... but he's still hungry, and Cairngorm still looks vaguely meat-shaped. There must be something there he can eat, right?! ]
I'm fine.
[ he comments, sounding less defiant and more hazy, but he finds himself obeying nonetheless, slowly rising and taking a step or two in their direction. ]
[ They glare, putting a heavy hand on the junction of his neck and shoulder, giving a forceful tug in the direction of Flavo, even if their hand is shaky. No, they don't really have a plan, but something has to be done. Lupin isn't himself right now, but they know that he would be full of regrets if he ended up chomping on someone that could feel it. ]
You need to go somewhere where you can't hurt anyone.
[ They're gonna start walking, pulling on him as if they have the intention to drag him along if they have to. ]
[ Surprisingly, Lupin does let them grab him. Maybe he's still disoriented over being hit and/or biting and not getting anything tasty out of it. That said, he doesn't let them grab him for very long. After about two seconds of being dragged, Lupin lets out another whining noise, then suddenly chomps down on Cairn's arm.
Not that it works very well, but. Clearly, he's not actually listening. ]
[ They don't feel any pain, but they certainly don't appreciate the pressure, nor how slimy and wet it is. It's enough to give them a spike of anxiety, but they try to metaphorically swallow it down, not wanting to do anything rash-- it's just their arm afterall, nothing that would endanger them of going unconscious like losing their head or getting broken in half. Even if he happens to be gnawing on the arm that comes off a lot easier than the other. ]
Let. Go. Or I'll make you.
[ They tug on their arm lightly, trying to get him to release it willingly-- who knows what kind of damage scraping his teeth on their arm is going to do to both of them if they're haphazard about it. Though, stopping to give him the unimpressed look and giving him a chance to let go leaves the rest of them unguarded, seeing as they have one arm being used as a chew toy and the other full with their weapon. ]
[ It turns out that rocks aren't very fun to chew on. His teeth mostly just clink off their arm; he'd look pretty foolish if it wasn't inherently unnerving to see him this warped. Cairngorm's words go unheard; to him, it just sounds like vague complaining, and with how frustrated he's already feeling, they only irritate him further.
He growls, and in response, he starts to pull backwards, tugging on their arm - he can't get a good grip, so his teeth scrape downwards a little as he does so, but he still doesn't let go. ]
