If they decide they're coming in, I don't think we're going to have a lot of luck convincing them otherwise. Best we can do is try to convince them it isn't worth their while to really try.
[Make it as unpleasant for them as possible. Try not to get eaten in the process.]
Good. Until we figure some way to stop them for good, I think that's the best we've got.
[Keith doesn't like it. But what choice do they have? If they can't get rid of these things, their only option is to try to make it as hard as possible for them to get into the city.]
[Keith will reach a hand up to engage his own mask, if only because with the display that gives him he'll have a better chance of seeing any wolves that decide to head out of the bushes.]
This is insane. I don't... ugh. It really ticks me off, you know? We're being toyed with by all of this.
[Someone has to be behind it, and Keith hates them.]
[Sword out and awakened, and Keith cuts hard to the right, no swinging wide, just coming straight at it. He'll draw its attention as best he can to give Yusuke a chance to get a clear shot at it.
He makes no attempts at stealth or quiet, letting his blade flash in its violet glow, and leaping straight for the creature with a sharp cry, meant to focus it on him.]
Yusuke quickly goes to cut in on the other side, his daggers flashing in his grip as he darts at it from behind. The blades strike true and sink into the flesh of its back as it howls and thrashes.]
[Barreling in headfirst. There's his life story's tagline really. But Keith trusts Yusuke to follow up and catch the beast off guard. He's sparred with Yusuke, knows how good he is, so there isn't a shred of doubt in him.
And he's rewarded for this faith when Yusuke catches the wolf with his blades. Good. Keith brings his own sword around hard to deliver another blow, and by now the creature is not enjoying this, even if it's definitely still on its feet.]
Stubborn, [Yusuke murmurs mostly to himself, ducking a werewolf arm that swings wide in his direction.
A faint blue fire flares as he raises his hand up, ripping off his mask with a decisive motion. His Persona appears behind him, a faint sound of bells sounding as ice explodes up one of the werewolf's legs.]
[Keith is, for the record, still not used to the whole Persona thing at all. But he's gotten used to just going with whatever weird he runs into. Because there has been so much of it in his life since the moment he left Earth.
That said.]
Not bad.
[He nods.] Reminds me of the Blue Lion. [The... freezy thing. Anyway.]
I think slowing them down might be the best we can do for now.
Considering the fairy tales I remember, there are way too many unpleasant options.
[Have they seen dragons and demons and ogres yet? Keith would be fine avoiding any of those particular encounters or several others he could list off if pressed.]

[Yusuke murmurs it grimly, masked face turned in the direction of the forest, gloved hand flexing at one of the dagger's hilts.]

[Yusuke gestures toward it with one gloved hand, eyes determined behind his mask.]

[Keith lets his sword settle back into its dagger shape, but keeps it in hand rather than sheathing it.
A glance back at Yusuke before he heads off. Perimeter patrol. He's ready.]

He's so alert that it's a surprise the masks's ears aren't moving... his dumb tail thing too.]

I know. [He stiffens slightly, narrowing his eyes.] Keith, is that one?
[He thinks he can see a nebulous, shadowy shape, disengaging itself from the forest.]
no subject
Yeah. That's one all right. Go left? I'll come in from the right?
[They can flank it and see if they can get it to head back instead of heading further in.]
no subject
Understood. Let us go.
[He breaks away from Keith then, moving soft and quiet.]

There. That shall slow it down more.

Either way, another blast of ice and the werewolf's legs are solidly frozen in place, the beast's head free so it can howl angrily.]
Slow down or deter, [he agrees.] I believe I can be quite good at both.
no subject
[Keith is impressed, okay? He takes a moment to look at the werewolf.]
None of these things should even be possible.
[This whole town should be impossible.]
no subject
[Yusuke tilts his head consideringly.]

...guess we should keep going?
