he full moon hangs brightly over the Town, hovering so low that it almost feels as though you could reach out and touch it. It should be comforting. But as the howl of wolves fills the air, it's anything but. There are werewolves on the prowl, and their target is very clear -- the Town won't be able to last without your help. I don't know. We lost it in the woods and hadn't seen it since. Admittedly we haven't been looking, either. [He gestures to indicate their current predicament.]

If it is I-

[He cuts himself off, not sure he wants to continue.]

[shotlocking]

[ She reaches out to put a hand on his arm. ]

If it is, we'll fight it until it's gone.

[sirnyxalot]

[He smiles, relieved at the dodge around the topic. He doesn't want to admit that he's scared of what it'll make him see if it comes back.]

Hopefully it'll stay in those damn woods until we figure out how to chase these wolves off. No one deserves that kind of job.

[shotlocking]

The bogeyman and these bloodthirsty wolves... Even for all of us, I think we might have our hands full if we had to deal with both.

[sirnyxalot]

For now I just want to get through the night without killing someone.

[It's not hard to get clear from any other residents, not with everyone pretty much banding together to survive. His skin is starting to itch fiercely.]

[shotlocking]

[ Gently, she squeezes his arm. ]

I'll do everything in my power to keep anyone from getting hurt. You included.

[sirnyxalot]

You know, I'm supposed to be the one protecting you.

[There's a shadow of a grin as he submits to trusting that they'll get through the night intact.]

[shotlocking]

[ She lets out the quietest laugh. ]

That's hardly fair. We'll protect each other, instead.

[sirnyxalot]

[War isn't fair, but that's even more reason to stick together. Nyx has to grin, even as they make it to the quiet edge of the district. Just in time, too. He's already smelling the dust and decay that rests over the uninhabited streets like a shroud; it's a scent he's too used to anymore to notice as a human, but the wolf makes him hyperaware of the history they've inherited.]

He holds up his hands.]

I concede. I wouldn't have made it very far on my own.
