he full moon hangs brightly over the Town, hovering so low that it almost feels as though you could reach out and touch it. It should be comforting. But as the howl of wolves fills the air, it's anything but. There are werewolves on the prowl, and their target is very clear -- the Town won't be able to last without your help. [With a longer range weapon compared to a pistol she isn't in the middle of the action, at least. She scans the area in front of them, trying to spot alleyways between houses or anywhere else the wolves might slip in.]]

No problem! I wish we had a little more warning before these things showed up. [Because honestly. Thanks, Awash. She points the barrel to an untouched side path as she catches motion in the shadows.] Can you ice that one?

[ Of course, the wolf is already charging by the time she can call on Artemis' power, but the wave of ice and frigid air literally freezes it in its tracks, prompting lots of pained yelping as it struggles to free itself from a path that refuses to let it. ]

[Emma winces at the whining, it's subtle but there, before shooting it cleanly between the eyes. It slumps onto the ice and Emma is watching to see if anything tries to follow behind it...

But the howls sound slightly more distant. A moment of calm before Emma clicks her tongue.]

Do you think they might be going around? How smart are they...

[Have they already decided to abandon this path to find an easier way in??]

Incredibly smart, unfortunately. They learn quickly-- so it's probably better to keep moving.

[Can nothing be easy? Although holding that point would hardly be considered easy.]

Maybe that means they do have limited numbers if they can't continue throwing themselves at a lost cause?

[Look, she's trying to put a silver lining on this.]

That's true! No wonder they're trying to bite us-- they want new recruits!

[That... makes sense!]

So if we can push them back while preventing bites then we could totally win this, right?!

Right!! We've only just begun our counterattack!

[ these poor wolves. ]

[This is the best beginning to a friendship.]

Exactly! We should track down where they're coming from and nip this problem in the bud.

[This problem has already bloomed and flowered but that's not the point at the moment.]

Well, let's drive them off for tonight first. When it's lighter, we can go look properly, but I doubt they'll be giving us an opening tonight.
