he full moon hangs brightly over the Town, hovering so low that it almost feels as though you could reach out and touch it. It should be comforting. But as the howl of wolves fills the air, it's anything but. There are werewolves on the prowl, and their target is very clear -- the Town won't be able to last without your help. At least Joshua isn't running off doing his own thing anymore, but I can't speak for the rest of the town.

... I'm glad you're at least looking out for Joshua-san. He does seem like the sort of person who would go fight things on his own if he thought it was necessary.

Hehe, we kind of both look out for each other.

[Unluckily for Joshua's dignity, Estelle has so not reached a point she can hide her reaction to that.]

As for the running off thing.... well, he won't be doing that anymore. At least not without me, anyway. He promised, and Joshua keeps his promises.

You mean he's run off on you before...

.....Eh...heheh.... believe it or not, it wasn't that long ago before we got here. I don't know if he's told you anything about stuff back home, but some stuff scared him pretty bad, and he thought he had to-- though it's a long story, and it's not really all mine to tell. I found him again and we're together now, and that's all that matters.

[Yes, Minato, he really is ninja-batman.

She shakes her head, smiling wryly.]

But my point is, he won't run off on his own. Not anymore.

[messianic]

... He's told me about it a little, but...

[...Well, in all honesty, when he thinks about it, all he can say now is:]

I'm really glad he has you, Estelle-san. It seems like you're exactly the sort of person he needs.

[brightlyshines]

[Oh, she flushes a little at that, clutching one of the sticks she's rearranging a little tighter so as to not drop it.]

Ahahaha.... If you say so. But honestly? The same goes for him, too. He's always looked out for me, you know?

[Her smiles turns from sheepish to something soft and gentle, fond even.]

He's always been there to support me when I've needed him. He's one of the kindest, gentlest people I've ever known, even if he's kind of bad at letting folks in.

[Joshua would probably argue about the gentle part, but to Estelle, it was true.]

Hm...

[He believes that completely. What he knows of Joshua, what he knows of Estelle--they really are the picture of two people who have come together and made each other even better. It's heartwarming in the best of ways, and Minato is really, really glad they have each other.]

I believe you. Joshua-san's a very kind person... sometimes a little too kind, I think.

[He seems to carry a lot of guilt that isn't his to bear, but Minato doesn't know everything about him, either.]

But that's why he has you too, right?

Eheheh... Sometimes he just needs to be reminded, you know?

[Reminded of... many, many things, really, but that was fine. They were both learning, bit by bit, as they grew up. They'd both done a lot of growing, recently, and they both still had a lot more ahead of them. She shoots Minato a happy smile, though, scooping up the branches she'd dropped.]

I'm really glad though, you know? That he's told you even a little.

[Maybe it wasn't her place to think so, but Estelle thought that Joshua being able to share bits and pieces about himself like that with other people was good for him.]

I guess sometimes we all need to be reminded of our own things.

[They're all pretty fallible--but that's why having friends is so important.

So Minato just smiles a little, shaking his head and leaning down to gather the remaining branches.]

He's been a good friend to me though. So I'm glad that I can help him too, even if it's just by listening or doing little things.

[brightlyshines]

[Her smile grows a little brighter at that, as she sets about piling the wood anew.]

That makes me even happier to hear, honestly!

['Even if it's just'. Minato might not think it's a lot, but...]

I guess if it makes you happy too, something's going right.

[Honestly, he's very happy--Estelle's happy, Joshua's improving... it's a good thing.]

So let's work together and do our best--for Joshua-san's sake, too.
