...You know what, you've clearly done this before and you're still standing, so — batshit as it sounds, I guess I'm going to roll with you on this one. Yeah...yeah, okay.
[Look, her tolerance for crazy is actually surprisingly high; it's just a matter of getting her to accept that this is crazy as opposed to outright stupid, in the first place.]
Okay, so. How do we do this? You get in position and then I let them out, or...? This is your show, you tell me how you want it.
Thanks. [He flashes her the cheesiest of thumbs up at that, nodding.]
As for that... how far away can you stand while still letting them out? It'd be better if you were somewhere safe, really... that's what I'm mostly worried about.
[With a kick of her legs not unlike that of a swimmer's, she swoops up into the air about fifteen feet and then hovers there, bringing her hands up in preparation.]
Remember, they're going to come straight out. I'll give you the best shot I can, but...
[But, hopefully he knows what he's doing. And on a count of three, two, one — she opens the portal, and out come the wolves.]
[... That's a pretty neat trick too. Minato just drags in a slow breath, and nods, and faces down where she's indicated those wolves will come from--
And thankfully? He does know what he's doing.
He's been saving as much of his energy as possible, because it's impossible to know how long this entire disaster is going to last for, but... protecting Summer, and taking on two of these things at once is more than enough reason to pull out some of the big guns.
He knows they hate fire; trying a little of everything has led to that conclusion. But rather than Orpheus throwing fireballs around, this time he'll summon Helel, the Persona hovering behind him serenely--even as it flings a Maragidyne the wolves' way. It's two pretty carefully targeted blasts; the wolves are more than a little singed, and while they're not entirely dead, they're wounded enough that they yelp and whimper and start to retreat, stumbling and limping away.
... He could chase them down, but striking the killing blow on creatures that badly injured isn't really something he's that interested in, so instead, he just quietly lowers his Evoker to his side, breathing out a soft breath.]
[...Well, damn. So here's the two takeaway points she garners from this, up on her figurative perch in midair as she watches Minato dispatch the wolves. One is that he wasn't kidding about the shooting himself in the head thing, because apparently when he does that, he can make magic people leap out of his body and defend him.
Two is that he had the chance to kill, and he didn't. Now that's interesting, and she files that one away for later.]
...You weren't kidding about the gun thing. What was that?
[Ha... Minato is more than content to tuck his Evoker away into its holster as he looks up at Summer, one hand neatly back in his pocket pretty much immediately.]
It'd be a pretty bad joke, right...?
[He definitely wasn't kidding about it.]
That was my Persona, though. It's sort of like... a part of me that's meant to help me face hardships.
[Which is still kind of vague, but they're hard to explain.]
["A part of me that's meant to help me face hardships". It's lucky that she's been here long enough to have mellowed out a little, or she would've had some choice and scathing things to say about a notion like that.
As it is, she'll settle for just kind of deadpan.]

[A slow breath in, and Minato nods firmly.]
But I'm not going to shoot them. [Oh.] It's not a real gun.
[Summer needs to know this before she watches him point it at his head.]
It's a summoning device--but I can still stop the wolves, I think.
no subject
[...Isn't it?]
How does it work?
no subject
It is, but it isn't. He does snort softly at that, and:]
Promise you won't freak out? It won't hurt me, but I'll show you.
no subject
[...At least she's honest?]
But, I mean. I'll try to not lose my shit, if you think this is apparently something that might make me.
no subject
I guess that's the best I can ask for.
[And? So. He lifts his Evoker, and points it directly at his temple.]
... Like this.

[
no subject
[Seriously.]
Trust me, I'll be fine. And I can take care of those werewolves, too.

[The rest he can take as it comes.]
no subject
[...Probably. She's getting a little low on her magic reserves, but she's done a lot more with a lot less before.]
Flight, you know. I don't think these things have wings, so that should keep me out of the way.
no subject
[A simple nod, and he lifts his Evoker a little.]
Then once you're safe, I'm ready whenever. [He'll take on some werewoofs.]

I use my Evoker to summon them.

Is it magic?
no subject
Yeah, pretty much, I think.
[More or less? He's not entirely clear on it, but to most people it's magic, right...? So.]
I can cast spells with them, and things like that.
