[He's heard enough and gotten close enough to be able to recognize the difference. He'd been hoping he was wrong, but it doesn't seem like that will happen.]
Yeah, exactly. To both of those. And if people here get bitten, there's a chance they'll turn, too. [He glances at her weapon.] ...what's that thing made of? [It would be way, way too easy for it to be silver, but he can dream.]
[ That part she remembers in some stories but not all of them. Considering pretty much anyone here is going to have more experience than her in things like this (or at least, that's what she's assuming), she just takes that warning to heart.
Elizabeth looks at her Skyhook and shakes her head. ]
Um... Steel, I think? [ —Oh! She gets why he's asking, and adds: ] Not silver. Sorry.
Stay away, or know how to dodge really, really well. Either of those would work. [He's not sure how the wolves here will behave until he gets a closer look, but it's advice nevertheless.] But it's okay. It would have been way too easy if it was silver...but what is it? I've never seen a weapon like that.
[ She laughs a little, since that kind of instruction is nostalgic, though it also feels weird to even consider it nostalgic. It's not like it was long ago. ]
I can do that. If— Well, if people need help, I can do a little. I'm used to—
[ Though Percy looks at the Sky Hook, and she holds it up a little as she looks at it too. How to explain... ]
It's a Sky Hook. It's sort of for transporation where I'm from, but... [ Well. Easier to show than anything else, right? She pulls the trigger, and the hooks move very fast. Fast enough to make it obvious that it's not something you want touching you. ]
—It's good in a pinch. If I have to use it. But if they're people...
That...is an impressive get-away method. [Like. Damn. The hook moves and that could easily rip someone's heart out if they didn't move, and Percy looks at it again curiously.]
...you don't want to risk accidentally killing someone even if they're werewolves. I get it. Maybe there's a way to use the Sky Hook without gutting someone.
Right. [ She nods with a rather heavy sigh ] It... definitely will.
[ The way she says it seems to imply that she knows that for a fact, though that's almost certainly weird. Considering her hesitation for it, it doesn't seem like something she wants to do. She turns it over in her hands, hums lowly, then moves her hand away from holding it a bit more like a gun and instead like a club. ]
Stunning them instead of killing them might give us time to bind them somewhere until they transform again. Then we can at least see who they are. If we knock them out with a hard enough hit from that thing and maybe the butt of my sword, it'll be the least threatening method.
[ She nods, though the gesture seems to be assuring herself more than Percy. This is different than tagging along with Booker, since despite what she thought of the man, he was at least reliable in his skill. He could prevent her from getting hurt, so this feels much more direct. She takes it bravely, but it's not as if she doesn't take that without trepidation.
With a deep breath, she seems to steel herself a little more, and there's another nod that's more confident. ]
Sorry. I haven't done anything like this before. [ A pause, then she adds: ] Well, not exactly, anyways.
[He nods back before he gestures for her to follow. Time to scout things out.]
A lot of people haven't, I think. That's what makes this town a little bit of a problem. But what does "not exactly" mean in this case? You've known people who have?

But I guess I could just hit them with it.
