Well, that's a shame. Remind me when this is all over to take you on a better one. Can't let you think I'm some sort of degenerate with bad choices of date activities.
[He grins and creeps along the ground toward the howl, feeling better than he had all week. Much to the wolves dismay, they'll soon discover.]
[ Maya would respond to that, but as soon as the shadows shift and she catches the flicker of a tail, she tenses up.
But the wolves seem to have caught their scent, from the gleaming yellow glint of at least three pairs of eyes focusing on them, and a snarl pierces through the night.

Nyx whoops in answer, breaking into a run to close the distance before the beasts can form a plan against them. He feels amazing now. Any pain he'd been working through before is gone and between the two of them these wolves don't stand a chance.
He's throwing a kukri into the air as a wolf leaps at his face; it misses entirely, teeth clamping down on the blue sparks Nyx's body shatters into. His warp carries him above its and he uses the momentum of his fall to strike its flank.
The beast yowls in pain and whips around at him, but Nyx had learned from his mistake, leaning back to avoid its jaws.
[ Maya's doing her best to keep a close eye on Nyx, just in case Bite The Sequel decides to roll into theaters-- but it looks like he's handling himself well enough and it's admittedly difficult to keep a close eye when he's teleporting.
She can at least guard his back when he lands, and as another wolf tries to go for him from the side, Maya whips her guns up and fires.
The bullets strike right between the eyes, and the wolf lets out a high, sharp cry before it collapses where it lands. ]
[Nyx doesn't laugh, but his energy seems boundless and the near-death feeling of her bullet passing within a foot of him to take down another beast is exhilarating.
A fireball cast at the feet of his own opponent sends it yelping away, sending it and its buddy to a wary distance to avoid the fire.]
[Between the two of them it's apparent that all openings have been sealed, but the wolves are stubborn and hungry. Once they're as far from the smolders of his fireball as they can get they regroup to attack. This time assuming Maya will be the easier target.
Fools. The lot of them.
Nyx is already moving, keeping an eye on Maya to make sure he's not getting in her way.]

But right! Werewolves! ]
Sure, count me in. I'd say I'm pretty handy in a fight!
[ She hasn't been bitten, anyway, so she's been doing fairly well for herself. ]
I've got your back, Nyx!

Excellent. With any luck I'd give us only a couple hours to sunrise. If nothing else it'd make these things easier to see.
[Not far from where they're standing, a howl rips through the air and Nyx summons his kukri back to his hands with a flash of blue magic.]

[ once again, her tone is nothing but blithe. ]
Let's just say this will officially be the longest date I've ever been on.
[ But the ground beneath her is already starting to glow as a soft wind kicks up. Fine. Bring it, furry bastards. ]

[ So much more entertaining than sitting down with a glass of wine and discussing the weather that week. ]

[He lowers his voice, peering around a corner to watch for the telltale shift of the beasts hunting.]

[Imagine giant bugs and massive three headed daemon dogs on fire.
The wolves start circling around to either side, clearly searching for a weakness to exploit.]
Unless that's the kind of thing you're into?

[ she says it with a laugh, but she's also tracking the wolves with her eyes and her Persona's senses. Go ahead, punks, just try. ]
