[Yusuke startles-- briefly, and then he rocks himself onto his heels and gazing up. Oh sup. His shoulders ease slightly when he recognises him, bracing himself with one hand to stay upright.]
I am looking for a plant that I think will be of good use. If we can manage to get all of the right ingredients together...
[So yes. Searching for a cure. At least, components of a cure.]
[For the time being, Damian doesn't move toward or away from Yusuke. His eyes drop to scour the ground, and then they rise again to meet Yusuke.]
You shouldn't be in here. It's dangerous. [Damian would be in here, of course, just the same. Damian is in here.] What plant are you looking for exactly?
I know. However, the werewolves do not come out at daytime. And I am able to defend myself, if I must.
[He taps his fingertips lightly to one hip, the one turned away from Damian at the angle--against the hilt of a dagger. He doesn't talk about his like magic summon thing that he can do if he gotta but he's armed.]
But it's called goldenglow. I honestly do not know what it looks like, but. I must find it, wherever it is.
[His eyes drop to the dagger. Of course, he questions whether Yusuke can even use it effectively, but that's just the cynic in him. He's been surprised by several people here already... best not judge.]
It's yellow. It's fairly big, so you won't miss it. It shouldn't be in the woods because it needs a lot of sun. But--there's no sun, and this place doesn't work on logic or reason.
[Wow Damian!! He is very good with this pointy object. Yusuke blinks as he describes the plant, however, rocking slightly on his heels before straightening with a frown.]
It's not hard to guess based on the name. If you're one of the people looking for ingredients for a cure, then it also isn't hard to surmise anything yellow is symbolic of the sun. Werewolves only transform at night. [Please kick him. He's too young to be this much of a know-it-all.]
But I can say for certainty it's yellow unless the town has changed it.
I know a little about botany. [It's not a terrible lie. He knows a lot about botany, not necessarily because he's a Bat, but because he was raised as an assassin. And being an assassin means knowing your poisons.] Let's look near the edge of the forest.
... [Yusuke seems uncertain... just because his gut is telling him that something's a little off with that descriptor. He doesn't have anything else to go on besides that instinct, really, same as the feeling he got when knowledge got blasted right into his brain.]
In a moment. I'll just finish up with this area first.
[He relents more quickly than usual; he's tired. For a few moments, he let's Yusuke go on about business without moving. Then he turns to scour the area on his side himself, less enthusiastic since he's not sure he'll find the flower at all or even find it here.
The worst part is that the medieval clothes, even altered, aren't as study as the Eastern ones they've been altered after. The folded collar is loose, and as Damian searches, Yusuke can see the bit of patch under the edge of the shirt if looking. It's the side of a modern, square band-aid pasted over one shoulder. It's still too small to cover the raw, bruised skin stretching out toward the dip of his neck.]
[Yusuke is thoroughly engrossed in his searching, picking up plants that look like likely candidates (ie, ones that seem unique), including one small, easily-missable transparent plant that all get carefully folded up in a cloth he was carrying on him.
He narrows his eyes as he glances Damian's way, his head cocking.
...It doesn't look like a light injury, so he says:] You do not have to help me, especially if you have an injury. [He won't ask where he got it but homie... don't hurt yourself k]
[This town is just one frustration on top of another frustration. Damian continues looking until Yusuke speaks, and then he stops to glance up quickly. It'd be stupid to try to clutch his collar together like he's some pariah, so he doesn't.]
I'm fine. [For now...] It only inconveniences me at night.
[There. Now Yusuke can run screaming or attack him or whatever else Damian thinks people will do when it comes to finding out someone else is cursed.]
[It takes a second, but Yusuke's eyes widen a little as the meaning clicks.]
Ah.
[And he looks, determined, down at the ground once more, rising to check out a patch right before him, picking up several likely candidates.] ...I must find this plant quickly, so that we can make a cure for you and the others.
[Wow. Damian is beginning to hate how wrong he is about everyone in this entire town. He expects them to act one way, and they all turn around and prove him wrong. Every. Time.
He frowns as Yusuke returns to searching with renewed determination, but it's a soft frown if anything. Gently, he sighs, understanding this kind of stubbornness personally.] Calm down. You won't be any help if you rush through it, grabbing whatever.
I'll help you get some, and then you can take them back to see which one of them are right.
I am calm, [Yusuke replies.] I know that I cannot afford to rush blindly in... but I would not want to leave it up too much to chance. I would like to look into every option.

Where did you come by that knowledge?
[Curiously!]
