[Of course Guren is here. These werewolves seem just like a different type of vampire, honestly, and he's prepared to fight that. He runs his sword through the wolf on top of Caringorm, and that's enough to get it to release them.
Whether it's that they're grossed out or getting hurt, it doesn't matter. Guren slices through the beast and the curse that he places inside of it makes it seemingly dissolve into the air.]
[ It's a little startling when the beast just dissolves into thin air, but they draw back their arm shakily, letting out an exhale. ]
I'm fine... [ It's only their uniform that's been torn, and they look to make sure there's no cracks or breaks in their forearm. But they're slightly too shaken to stand up just yet. ] It would take something harder than those teeth to break me.
[ They take his hand gently, making sure to push themselves up most of the way so as not to pull him down with their weight. ]
I just didn't expect it, is all... nothing has tried to bite me like that before.
[ None of the animals around here seemed interested in eating them, so they thought they'd be in the clear for most beasts. They take a second to brush off their clothes now that they're standing, only belatedly giving his sword a look. ]
[So, while they may be similar to vampires in plenty of ways, he can mark intelligence or cunning off the list. Also, don't worry gem bud, Guren's strength is more than it has any right to be.]
There's no saying how strong they are. Don't let one of them latch onto you like that again, just in case.
[The tone is troubled with that, his eyes focused on the distance. It's good if Cairngorm can take those teeth, but what's the trick to these things? What more do they have? There's always something.]
I don't know if this is going to be as easy as I hope. They don't feel all that strong, but there's gotta be a catch, with a quest like that.
[ They guess that's the only thing that would make dealing with them particularly difficult...at least, for them. In hindsight it would probably kill a human to get attacked the way that they just had. They'll just count their stars. ]
Just like usual, I feel like it'll be like this for a few days and suddenly get way worse and more annoying. If I had to guess, that's probably why it feels manageable for now.
[He doesn't trust it to be just monsters like the harpies, or something like that. Why would they come out? The ones that come out are never so simple.]
But you're right, that seems to be the pattern around here. Hopefully this is just a short thing we have to deal with again. We can handle it.
As long as mortals with no way to defend themselves stay out of the way. This is different from those other times, someone could really get killed.
[ Those bird things? Annoying, but not awful. The shadows were dangerous, but not to the in-your-face extent that these are...they're finding that at this point they'd almost prefer that talking furniture. From their perspective, human lives are already really short, so for them to get ended even sooner over something as nasty as those walking dog things... it'd just be sad. ]
Are you planning on staying out here and destroying them?
I don't think anyone who doesn't know how to fight is going to be out here looking for it.
Defending themselves? Maybe. But we can help with that, too.
[Even Dextera, who's capable of fighting, seems to shy away from danger when he can. People who prefer not to fight should stay safe. He agrees with that.]
I'm planning on seeing if I can, at least. If things get too dangerous, I know when to retreat.
It's probably for the best since your ability is so effective on them. [ Not that they really understand what it is. ] I will probably stay out here for the same reason.
[ It almost feels like an obligation, in that sense? It's no big deal to them if there's no threat of them getting broken, so they don't mind it, even if it is kind of gross. ]
I thought wolves ate deer. Or do they eat humans too...
[ As soon as he says so, there are two pairs of glowing eyes that emerge from the foliage, accompanied by growling. They ready their blade, if only a little reluctantly, since they haven't exactly consciously killed an animal before. There's a suspicion that it won't be the most pleasant feeling. ]
...You better say something if you're about to get bit.
[ Is the last thing they say before swinging their blade up from the dirt to cloud the advancing wolves' vision, both of them stalling for a second and shaking their heads - prompting Cairn to take the first few running steps towards them with their saw held back at the ready to strike. ]

[Meaning he's checking on more than their physical wellness. Still, he extends his hand to help them up, if they want to take it.]
Come on, more could come at any moment.

I won't. Judging by what I felt, I should be able to break those teeth even if one latches onto me again.
[ A werewolf with no teeth can't bite anyone - they'd tried to not be so violent the first time, but next time they wouldn't hold back. ]
But if these are what we're supposed to protect the town from, you are probably sensing a lot of them, right.
