yet another one of these
WHO: Zelda + anyone
WHAT: Open Prompts, Closed Prompts, all here at the prompt emporium!
WHERE: Various locations
WHEN: All of June
WARNINGS: Spoilers for LoZ: Breath of the Wild for sure.
OPEN - Purifying (outside the forest)
[ with the trial over, and zelda feeling more settled in town, it's time for her to try something she's been wanting to do for a while. a test of her power and what remains of it.
she travels to the edge of the forest and piles up as many small rocks as she can find in front of a tree, attempting to create a makeshift idol of her goddess. it looks nothing like it, not even close, but she figures her efforts and intent are enough given the circumstances. once finished she places down a broken jewelry box beside the rocks, naturally devoid of its color, and kneels down before them. she watches the items pensively and breathes in, then out, almost certain this will end in failure. yet she must at least try...
her hands clasp together and she begins to pray. her mind clear and she reaches out an invisible hand to the triforce. it appears on the back of her right hand, a large golden triangle with three smaller ones - yet only the bottom left one illuminates a clear shine. and slowly a radiant bright light wraps and covers her in a sharp glow, yet only stretches past her a few inches as she channels her sealing. the jewel box comes to light up as well.
yet regardless of when you arrive on the scene, it all ends the same. the light vanishes and zelda opens her eyes... the box is still without color. ]
Ah. As always, it ends like this. [ she blows out a breath, frustrated. ]
OPEN - Books (library)
[ a couple days after the trial ended, beside zelda's bed appeared a few different books she had never before seen. there was nothing fantastical about them. she opens the book and begins to read, and it's rather fascinating... but then just as she thinks to turn the page, the words begin to change. slowly the words shift and move around and the information on it is completely lost. fantastic: cursed books. because this place wasn't cursed enough as is.
to this end she takes her four new books and heads to the library with them in a haul, knowing that the information could be too crucial to miss out on. taking a picture of every page on the sheikah slate won't do given a limited memory size. and so in a desperation to not lose information, she endeavors to just read every book and make notes herself. some blank, albeit dirty, notebooks found in the house will have to do. and so just about every day she will be there, turning a page and then furiously writing as quickly as she can, afraid of what will happen in the next moment. all the while her face is knit in frustration, not taking much enjoyment out of this.
as for the books themselves? well they have colorful titles unlike the generic fairytales of the library:
THE BIG BOOK OF STANDS
HOW TO RAISE YOUR NEW POKEMON
SERAPHIM - A (BRIEF) HISTORY
THE VAMPIRE APOCALYPSE AND YOU, A HOW-TO GUIDE]
OPEN - Be helpful (or don't?)
Hello! [ hey, you, yeah you. doesn't matter if she knows you are not, you're getting flagged down by this smiling girl. ] My apologies for interrupting your day, but I was wondering if you wouldn't mind helping me with something important. A scientific experiment if you would. It'll only take a few moments of your time.
[ and, look, she has something behind her hands, hidden out of view! what could that possibly be? :) ]
(ooc: if you want to plot for quests or anything else, feel free to shoot me a PM! i'm happy to make closed prompts.)

closed to aqua; quest 11
she contemplates at home throughout the day, sitting in the common area trying to distract herself with a library book. and when she spots aqua from the corner of her eye, she turns to her. ]
Aqua, may I have a word with you?
no subject
Needless to say, she doesn't want a repeat quest. The others seem benign enough, but there's one in particular that stands out. Of course, she doesn't think anything of it when Zelda addresses her. ]
Of course. What is it?
no subject
Well... I was wondering - what do you make of the quests we have been given? The one we completed... and the ones that just appeared recently.
[ she shouldn't waver in the courage to ask but, well, she doesn't want to be too upfront. or seem too anxious. ]

closed to greed; quest 13
...she doesn't like him very much, but if a red must come along, and as he has proven to have a great measure of strength, she decides to send him a message to meet her at the forest edge. why she doesn't say. if he refuses, so be it, but he seems like the type who would want to go into a fight anyway. she waits for him, bow strapped to her back, sitting on her knees and praying for the time that will be sure to come. ]

(Besides: he's been feeling pretty off-kilter lately, and so something petty and ordinary is just what he needs).]
Hey!
[He grins, both because it's genuinely enjoyable to see her and because he suspects it bothers her in some subtle way. Casually he strolls towards her, his hands in his pockets.]
I knew you couldn't resist me for long.
no subject
[ she's not going to fall for that bait, nice try though. she rises up to her feet and pulls on her strap with a small tug. this time she's all business. ]
I'll get straight to the point. There's some sort of bogeyman in the forests, and I want to go after it. You seem capable enough for a fight by all accounts - will you accompany me?

also, this is ... after his punishment week. ]
Yo, Zelda. [ He's always happy to see a familiar face, and he'll need virtually no incentive to want to help. He trusts her not to ask for anything too weird, at least. She's not a jojo. ]
No need to be so formal. Of course I'll help you out. What do you need me to do?

As he moved through the small area, though, glancing at the books on the shelves, he couldn't help but wonder what had the only other occupant so frazzled as to be writing like her life depended on it.
He wouldn't ask.
Or. At least he wouldn't have, if passing by quietly hadn't given him a better look at the names of the spines of those books. Naturally one word jumped out at him: Pokemon.
Without thinking he grabbed the book off the top of the pile that she wasn't currently working on, holding it up with a rather rude demand.]
Where did you find this?
no subject
[ there's no way she expects someone to come up to her, let alone grab at one of the books, and she immediately rises out from her seat. ]
Please put that down at once. It is one of my personal books.

But this is why when Zelda approaches, looking suspiciously nice, he gives her a wary look before slowly nodding. ]
What are you testing for?

Back home, there were living creatures that could be consumed in order to augment certain potentials over a short period of time. Running faster, or being able to resist cold climates, for instance. I need to see if the creatures of this land are similar. Do you follow?

Sure. What do I do?

I need to test the properties of certain creatures out in the wild, in order to compare notes from my home.
[ and then, from behind her hands, she brings them to the front and it's -- a grilled lizard on a papertowel. ]

izuku - werewolves
with her bow strapped to her back, zelda ventures out into the forest in the early hours of daylight. the werewolves only come at night it seems, better safe than sorry in this case. and though she has no one to guard her, she doesn't imagine getting this plant will take too long. intuition mysteriously drives her path, as though she knows exactly where they are through the thick trees, and she wonders where her knowledge came from. this cannot be a coincidence. do others have any knowledge?
she walks cautiously and slow, head turning to keep a proper view of all her front surroundings, until she hears a noise past a collection of trees. quickly she grabs her bow and approaches the area where the noise came from, investigating. ]

Movement from the corner of his eye makes him glance up, and he looks surprised when he spots her.]
Zelda-san? What are you doing out here? [He asks, even though he's also out here, the same as her.]

Books; I meant to tag this forever ago I'm so sorry this is late OTL
He's been here for months, strange things barely phase him anymore. But the books she's reading doing that has him curious. She seems focused, though, so he's unsure if he should really go and break her concentration like that.
Unsure, that is, until he sees the word "seraphim" float up and his eyes widen. Before he can properly think, he's rushing over to the table.]
Hey! What book is that?
it's all good!
[ she stops her writing, and looks up to him. at the moment she's working on the very book he's interested in, though she's hardly more than a few pages in. to her it's most important to skim and then note down what seems the most meaningful. something that can help in the future. ]
Oh, um... I'm not too sure, actually. I received these books for my success in the recent quest, so I haven't really read them yet.
