Dust if you must, but bear this in mind,

t hasn’t been long since you’ve arrived. The dust has settled, so to speak. And there is… a lot of dust. The town is in disrepair. Some efforts have gone into making it a bit better, but it’s going to be a lot of work, there’s no denying that. There are only a few livable buildings right now, and even those are prone to letting the rain in, or missing stairs to the clearly present second floor, floors crumbling or creaking.

So it is that after a week or so to get used to their new living quarters.... There’s finally activity on the forum. Activity that doesn’t come from any of the people living here.

There’s a stickied forum post, and in it, a single post, from a user FFFFFF:

All-endearing cleanliness,

[ They're definitely not surprised to see the chair float it's way out the window and into the sky - in fact, at this point, they wish they could do the same. Cairn has been spending most of their time outside just to get away from the blabber of it all, so they're at least empathetic to the show of temper - and they have a pretty good idea of who is responsible. ]

Are you planning on doing that with all the furniture?

[ They call out from the ground, shovel in hand while they watch the chair get further and further away. ]

[It's so rare for the typically mild-mannered girl to lose her temper, but to lose it while someone is watching? Aw, darn. Ochako leans over the windowsill, giving Cairn a rather weak smile.]

No way! That chair just... caught me at a bad time? [She laughs a bit sheepishly, reaching up to give her nose a quick rub.] I'll have to go chase it down later. But how have you been? It's good to see you again!

[A beat, and then:]

And what are you doing with that shovel?

[ They don't necessarily believe that, but they guess that everyone has different ways of coping with the disturbance of the furniture. Personally it was therapeutic to them to just smash it to pieces, but then again, different strokes for different folks. ]

I'm tired, like everyone else. [ A sigh follows their blunt response, rolling their neck and closing their eyes temporarily. ] I've been shoveling mud off the street out here to stay away from the furniture, but it's not like I can sleep outside...

[ Too dangerous, not to mention it'd just be plain weird to lay down on the ground out here. ]

If you ask me, you should just leave the chair up there. No one wants it down here, anyway.

[She does know someone currently sleeping in a tree, but, while it is better than sleeping on the ground, it's still Outdoors. There's also the fact that climbing trees probably isn't a feasible option for Cairn, so Ochako decides to keep her mouth shut and silently commiserate with the them. Rest would be quite nice.]

I'm not really in a hurry, but I have release my quirk at some point. I don't want it to fall on anyone while I'm sleeping! And.. [She somehow manages to look even more sheepish than she did a moment ago.] ...I kind of want to watch it hit the ground.

[Surprisingly vindictive! But that's what it gets for bringing her family into this!]

[ That reaction is surprising - they'd probably find it funny if they weren't in such a cranky mood these days. Speaking of things hitting people when they fall, they look up at the sky to make sure they're not in danger of being shattered along with the chair should it fall, taking a few steps towards the building. ]

As long as you don't drop it on me, I agree with you.

[ It was tiring enough (both physically and emotionally) when they tried to destroy one earlier, so they are also curious to see one get smashed for real. They'd just live vicariously through other people destroying them. ]

I've been seeing all kinds of ways that people are trying to destroy the furniture. But that "Quirk" of yours is almost too perfect for this.
