t hasn’t been long since you’ve arrived. The dust has settled, so to speak. And there is… a lot of dust. The town is in disrepair. Some efforts have gone into making it a bit better, but it’s going to be a lot of work, there’s no denying that. There are only a few livable buildings right now, and even those are prone to letting the rain in, or missing stairs to the clearly present second floor, floors crumbling or creaking. So it is that after a week or so to get used to their new living quarters.... There’s finally activity on the forum. Activity that doesn’t come from any of the people living here. There’s a stickied forum post, and in it, a single post, from a user FFFFFF: All-endearing cleanliness, Virtue next to godliness, Easiest, cheapest, needfull’st duty, To the body health and beauty; Who that’s human would refuse it, When a little water does it? Requirements: Everyone They only have a bit of time to try to figure out what, exactly, it wants from them -- and then things begin to happen. Welcome to Awash's first event log, everyone! No. [ This is the display of how profoundly irritated Fushimi is: he's actively admitting he isn't okay. In part because he is visibly burning half the furniture in his presence, and in part because from what he's seen, the shittalking furniture is a plague upon the entire area, so it's probably not just him.

He stops throwing things for a moment, setting down what looks like... a chair cushion. ]

Did I hit you?

[appraiser]

Not directly.

[ As in, nothing's hit him and he's very grateful for it, but fire doesn't exactly die out after being thrown from a window; in all honesty, it's pretty lucky that it's dirt outside, and whatever vegetation there is, is cold and wet from the weather. ]

Is there anything I can do to make things okay? So you can stop?

[dualtone]

Can you make the furniture stop talking? [ It's a little sarcastic, a little irritated, a little meaner than Fushimi necessarily means to be... but that's a natural byproduct of being injured, cranky, and unable to sleep because the furniture in the bedroom keeps waking him up by whispering all his insecurities at him. ]

Destroying it is the only way I've found. [ Burning it to ash seems to be a pretty effective way to deal with most things, even if it lacks a certain... finesse. ]

[appraiser]

I'm afraid I haven't figured that out yet. [ a mental note to try harder, before Fushimi burns down the entire town. ]

But if you get rid of all the furniture, the rooms will be bare and you won't have a place to sit and rest or hold your things. So why don't we put our heads together and think of some other ways, to save what we can?

[dualtone]

The floor is fine with me. [ This isn't even his house that he's destroying, it's worth noting, and there's no guarantee that everyone else is okay with him burning half the usable furniture -- but it's fine, he can just rob another house, if he needs to. ]

I just want it to shut up. [ He's extra cranky because he can't even sleep without something telling him how much of a failure he is. ]

[appraiser]

It can't be very comfortable with just a floor... Why don't you come outside and we can take a walk? If they don't stop talking, that doesn't mean you have to stay here and listen to them.

[ It's okay to walk away! It's not losing. ]

[dualtone]

... I can't go far. [ But he disappears from the window all the same, and exits a few seconds later. The reason he can't make it very far is made pretty clear from way he's limping and the bandage tied around his thigh. ]

If there's a nearby place without furniture, I'll go here. [ He sounds tired, because the idea of trying to avoid his own furniture is so absurd he honestly doesn't know what to do with the concept other than be irritated. ]

[appraiser]

[ Ryoji's quick to approach, offering an arm or a shoulder to help support him. ]

There's the woods, but... What happened? This wasn't the furniture's doing, was it? I thought they only threw insults, not punches.

[dualtone]

It was like this before I got here. [ Which is as much as he'll elaborate on, because he doesn't want to talk about the fact that he, uh, was technically stabbed by one of his own knives. It's embarrassing. ]

I've been stuck resting, so I've had to hear the furniture for hours. [ Anyone would go crazy after that, right? ] I couldn't even sleep...
