WHO: Minato and youuuu
WHERE: The town, the woods, everywhere in between
WHEN: June 3 - June 10
WHAT: Lack of sleep does some unfortunate things to people, it really does. ie punishments really, really suck
WARNINGS: A lot of this is just very, very dumb
June 3/4
[At first, he's just miserable. A night or two without sleep is doable, but really, really awful, and so Minato can be found mostly wandering, restless, especially late at night. Which is very, very unusual for him (usually he'd be asleep by now), but don't mind him as he stalks about the town with his hands shoved deeply into his pockets, occasionally stopping to yawn massively and lean against a wall.
He always ends up standing back up pretty promptly, though, no matter how sleepy he looks.
Weird.
Or he might come visit at some obscene hour of the morning if he thinks your character will be awake, almost desperate to talk to someone to get his mind off of this. He will definitely knock on doors at all hours of the night if he thinks your character would sincerely be awake at that time of night.
Please help him.]
June 5/6
[It gets much, much worse. Minato's wanderings are almost desperate now; lying down does nothing, leaning against things does nothing, he cannot sleep no matter what he does and it's starting to take its toll. He's definitely stumbling, staggering occasionally as if drunk, and if you try to stop him he may not even process that you're calling out to him.
Hm.
Worrisome.
It probably comes to a worrisome head when he's crossing one of the bridges in Bluo, feet dragging--and then sways, and topples right off the side, blacking out for a brief moment. Bye, Minato.]
June 8
[At this point he probably shouldn't be outside but he's here anyway, and he seems to be...talking to a tree? He's trying, but he clearly thinks it's someone he knows, and while his voice is low and slurred, he is trying to legitimately have a conversation with this tree.
It's probably a good thing he stopped to talk to the tree instead of wandering into the woods in this state? Maybe you should call out to him...
But he's definitely hallucinating, and only seems to notice if he's not interrupted when he stumbles, and knocks his head against said tree, startling back to himself abruptly with both hands clasped to his forehead.
And then he thumps his forehead against the tree again, this time purposefully and with plain aggravation.]

[Poor Minato... Hopefully he doesn't end up awake for a hundred years.]

You really are casting me in the role of a princess...
[SHIHO..........]

Maybe I could make for a pretty good background character...
[Minato, why]
no subject
...Yeah, I guess you could argue it either way with a hair colour like that. What, you don't want to get kissed back to sleep by a cute prince or princess? Or a frog? [She's covering pretty much every option for him here.]
no subject
Probably not a frog, maybe, but who even knows, he's not picky--]
I mean, I guess anyone would be pretty okay with that.
[Getting kissed back to sleep... cute prince or princess, he's not picky. If it's a particularly cute, somewhat humanoid frog, maybe...? Who knows. Don't question it.]
Right? There's no bad to a situation like that.
no subject
Though she's smiling a little as he... admits he'd like to be kissed by a frog. Then again he's probably tired enough that even a frog would do. Poor Minato...]
I guess not? Unless someone's not as into frogs as you are.
[Though joking aside she does wonder if it could be as simple as that?? Probably not.
And where would they find a frog with her unable to use psychometry and everything?]
If it would help you sleep that would be nice, I think.
no subject
[PROBABLY... though if it meant he could fall asleep, he'd do it. He misses sleep.
the joking is nice, though; it's light-hearted, and helps make him feel a bit less adrift.]
It'd be nice, yeah... though I don't know if it'd work, and you can't really blame people for not wanting to give it a try when we're just making things up at this point.
[No kisses for him; their joking around probably is not the actual solution to his lack of sleep.]
no subject
[Do they have any....?]
And the frogs might even breathe fire. [But on a more serious note:]
I feel like the people here would give it a try, even if it might not work. At this point, lullabies and bed-time stories are starting to look like good solutions, even if they’re really just for babies. We can’t rule out any possibility. [Which to her sounds almost exactly like something Minamoto would have said.]
no subject
People are nice that way here. Everyone's... [A yawn] ...everyone's always willing to help, no matter the situation.
[He smiles, rubbing at an eye.]
I don't want to ask people to do something like that, though. Not when I think... I think I can make it through.
no subject
[Shiho hesitates for just a moment because this has never been a gesture that a psychometer like her was allowed to make to just about anyone... and then she reaches up and gives his head a light pat.]
If you think you can make it through, then I'll support you. If you can't, I'm sure I can find you a frog with only one head who's cute enough to match your standards.
no subject
I think I'll make it. If I change my mind, though, I'll let you know so you can start figuring out frogs.
[At least he'll play along with it, still good-humored even despite his sleep deprivation.]
no subject
I’ll support you then. No matter what. [And run interventions if needed, because what are friends for?]
Where are you headed to now? Back home? Or are you going to just try and knock yourself out against this tree again?
no subject
[Honestly, she's always been good to him; he smiles at her, and lifts his head when his bangs are properly back in place.]
I'm gonna head home, I think. I might as well try to rest as much as I can.
[A beat, and:]
What about you? Are you going to be okay on your own?
no subject
[And there’s that worry for her again. Her smile softens and this time she’s setting both hands on his shoulders from behind, relaxed for what seems like the first time in days.]
I’ll walk you home first. [Because he walked her home before and she’s going to return this favour. Besides, she’d probably be fine on her own. Whatever she can’t make cry with her words, she’ll deal with using violence. Not having psychometry doesn’t make her any less capable of taking care of herself so it’s all good!]
no subject
[She let him walk her home that one time, after all. It only seems fair to let her return the favor. And while she didn't answer his question, for now... he'll trust in her.
He'll just have to check in on her later then, right?
So uncomplainingly and unresistingly, Minato moves forward with that gentle push, and will peacefully allow Shiho to escort him home. He won't be able to sleep for awhile yet, but... it's fine. He already feels a bit better, just from talking to someone else like this.]
no subject
Or at least she’ll do her best to stay out of danger once she’s got him back home. Even if she’s even more paranoid than usual without her psychometry there to help her out. Still, she has Kaoru and Minato, and even Kyrie if need be. She knows she’s not alone even if she had to be reminded of it occasionally.]
