WHO: Minato and youuuu
WHERE: The town, the woods, everywhere in between
WHEN: June 3 - June 10
WHAT: Lack of sleep does some unfortunate things to people, it really does. ie punishments really, really suck
WARNINGS: A lot of this is just very, very dumb
June 3/4
[At first, he's just miserable. A night or two without sleep is doable, but really, really awful, and so Minato can be found mostly wandering, restless, especially late at night. Which is very, very unusual for him (usually he'd be asleep by now), but don't mind him as he stalks about the town with his hands shoved deeply into his pockets, occasionally stopping to yawn massively and lean against a wall.
He always ends up standing back up pretty promptly, though, no matter how sleepy he looks.
Weird.
Or he might come visit at some obscene hour of the morning if he thinks your character will be awake, almost desperate to talk to someone to get his mind off of this. He will definitely knock on doors at all hours of the night if he thinks your character would sincerely be awake at that time of night.
Please help him.]
June 5/6
[It gets much, much worse. Minato's wanderings are almost desperate now; lying down does nothing, leaning against things does nothing, he cannot sleep no matter what he does and it's starting to take its toll. He's definitely stumbling, staggering occasionally as if drunk, and if you try to stop him he may not even process that you're calling out to him.
Hm.
Worrisome.
It probably comes to a worrisome head when he's crossing one of the bridges in Bluo, feet dragging--and then sways, and topples right off the side, blacking out for a brief moment. Bye, Minato.]
June 8
[At this point he probably shouldn't be outside but he's here anyway, and he seems to be...talking to a tree? He's trying, but he clearly thinks it's someone he knows, and while his voice is low and slurred, he is trying to legitimately have a conversation with this tree.
It's probably a good thing he stopped to talk to the tree instead of wandering into the woods in this state? Maybe you should call out to him...
But he's definitely hallucinating, and only seems to notice if he's not interrupted when he stumbles, and knocks his head against said tree, startling back to himself abruptly with both hands clasped to his forehead.
And then he thumps his forehead against the tree again, this time purposefully and with plain aggravation.]

[ lmao he knows from personal experience.. ]
Your safety, though, that is really what is important! If you're not in your right mind to be dilly-dallying about, maybe you ought to just bite the bullet and keep yourself cooped up until slumber comes.
[ Jake, you're never in your right mind to be dilly-dallying about and yet here you are. ]
Do you want to take a stroll with me, then? I can make sure you don't do anything stupid.

But Minato just tilts his head, and in all honesty like 80% of that goes right over his head because he is not near awake enough to process Homestuck rambling but.
He does process the last bit.
And... it sounds nice, particularly having company while he is losing his mind like this.]
You don't mind...?
no subject
Excuse me if this sounds rude, but you seem like the more quiet type. As long as you understand I can probably chat your ear off and you don't mind, then sure.
no subject
Honestly, the thought of listening to someone else for awhile sounds kind of soothing right now, since I can't fall asleep anyway...
[Just. Please keep him from going insane, Jake.]

Um, okay. Here, maybe you should just relax against the tree even if you can't sleep, and uh.. I'll think of something to natter about..
[ Give them a few seconds to get settled, and then: ]
Once upon a time, there was a beautiful planet called Pandora and it was inhabited by beautiful ten foot tall people called Na'vi—
[ oh my gOD... ]

It's fine.
He's listening, if with like...half-aware curiousness. He drifts sometimes, but he's still awake, so he's catching most of this, maybe?
Probably.
It's fine.]

[ That's probably all Minato hears as he tells the whole damn story, not excluding weird alien tail mating rituals and whatnot. He's very thorough and passionate about all of this, and after about twenty minutes he'll finally check back into Minato. ]
Um. You still hanging in there okay?
no subject
He just stirs a little, groaning a complaining noise.]
Still...awake...
[UNFORTUNATELY.]
Hanging in there...

[Punishments everywhere...]
Do you mind if I ask...what happened to you?

[ He shifts slightly. ]
Every girl I speak to has the same voice, but it's the voice of my grandmother. She's deceased, and the only person who raised me, so it's just a little jarring to say the least.
no subject
... That sounds a little worse than just an "annoyance"... are you sure you're okay?
no subject
[ Hm. ]
I'll be okay.
[ HM. ]
Having other company here who don't mimic her voice has been helping, so I appreciate you.
[ wait wasn't he the one who was helping Minato? ]
no subject
Hm... maybe I should be talking more too then.
[It's funny because he's a silent protag.]
But you don't have to worry about pretending to be okay around me either. [After all:]
I'm just sleepy--otherwise I'm fine.
