It's raining, it's pouring. The old man is snoring. He bumped his head and went to bed And he couldn't get up in the morning.

ou wake in knee-deep water, cold as ice and stagnant, in a space that is far too echoey and spacious. It feels like a massive cave, but looking up... there's only one small, circular opening that shows grey sky and shines any sort of light. It looks like a long trip upwards, a small cylinder with walls of brick that's just a little too high to reach, even when jumping. Getting out is probably going to be a bit of a task, especially considering the water is more than cold enough to make limbs go numb. The dark makes it impossible to see much further, but the space seems large, all filled with water, but with no other way out, stone walls the only thing for an intrepid explorer to find. Oh, and to make things even better, it's raining today. Water from below (though thankfully only like, knee-deep), and water from above... how fun. But most importantly of all... you're not alone. Welcome to Awash's second intro log, everyone! Please review the FAQ and rules before playing. New characters have all woken at the bottom of the well in the middle of the town (which seems a lot bigger on the inside, somehow), and it looks like they'll have to put in some work to get out. Thankfully, they have some friends on the outside, this time. Once out, they'll be free to explore the various locations the Town has to offer at will. Just try not to die on any of the far-too-rickety walkways. Please feel free to ask any questions here and don't forget to greet your fellow players here!

[Sora somehow feels bad when she says that. Something deep inside his heart stirs and feels like it wants to reach out and suddenly Sora's not sure why he feels like he wants to hug her. Is it his own feelings or someone else's?

Either way, Sora walks up to her and reaches for her hand. Gently, his fingers over the back of hers.]

I'm sorry. Sometimes I'm dumb and I forget things that I shouldn't. [Which really isn't that far from the truth. He's missing a whole year of his memories.] What's your name? Maybe that'll help.

[shotlocking]

[ She hasn't had her hand held in so long, it's like a jolt of electricity. Aqua starts, then calms herself after a breath. ]

No--you don't need to apologize, and I certainly don't think you're dumb. [ Which is an odd thing to say, she realizes, if he's truly forgotten her. ] I'm Aqua.

[oathkeeper]

[Sora's expression softens to a warm smile. Hearing her say her name makes him pleasantly happy, even if he still can't bring up the fuzzy memories completely. But deep in his heart, he thinks he has met her before. Her hand in his feels familiar.]

Aqua. You know, I think I have met you before. Hearts never forget, right?

[shotlocking]

[ And just like that, it's like the sun has risen. Her smile is teary, but it's bright and relieved, and Aqua holds onto Sora's hand with both of hers. ]

Ten years ago. I went to your home. [ She squeezes his hand. ] You promised me you'd always watch over Riku.

[oathkeeper]

[He pats the back of her hand with his free one gently but then he perks up with wide eyes.]

Wait- You really did come to Destiny Islands before?! ...

[A promise-- It's faint. But he looks deep inside his heart for it.

You make sure to stay with him and keep him safe. ... That's your job, Sora.]

... Heh. Yeah. I've been doing my best to keep that promise. Riku, he's a Master now.

[shotlocking]

I did. You and Riku were both so young. It must have been ten years ago.

[ There's something that saddens in her expression. ]

You're still best friends, then?

[oathkeeper]

[Why does she look so sad...? He squeezes her hand.]

Yeah, there isn't anyone that I trust more than Riku. We'll always be best friends.

[a beat] Aqua, are you okay...?
