It's raining, it's pouring. The old man is snoring. He bumped his head and went to bed And he couldn't get up in the morning.

ou wake in knee-deep water, cold as ice and stagnant, in a space that is far too echoey and spacious. It feels like a massive cave, but looking up... there's only one small, circular opening that shows grey sky and shines any sort of light. It looks like a long trip upwards, a small cylinder with walls of brick that's just a little too high to reach, even when jumping. Getting out is probably going to be a bit of a task, especially considering the water is more than cold enough to make limbs go numb. The dark makes it impossible to see much further, but the space seems large, all filled with water, but with no other way out, stone walls the only thing for an intrepid explorer to find. Oh, and to make things even better, it's raining today. Water from below (though thankfully only like, knee-deep), and water from above... how fun. But most importantly of all... you're not alone. Welcome to Awash's second intro log, everyone! Please review the FAQ and rules before playing. New characters have all woken at the bottom of the well in the middle of the town (which seems a lot bigger on the inside, somehow), and it looks like they'll have to put in some work to get out. Thankfully, they have some friends on the outside, this time. Once out, they'll be free to explore the various locations the Town has to offer at will. Just try not to die on any of the far-too-rickety walkways. Please feel free to ask any questions here and don't forget to greet your fellow players here!

[ Definitely no normal kid, with the way he snapped out of Josuke's grip with such precision. It's a little overkill, given the fact that all Josuke wanted to do was have a look at him. ]

[ It's fair? He's not treating Damian like a child or anything. ] Where'd you learn to fight like that?

[After regarding the two of them briefly, Pennyworth leaps from the mouth of the well to Damian's narrow shoulders, balancing precariously. Its tail furls across Damian's temple comically, but the boy doesn't seem to mind, and its eyes blink knowingly at Josuke.]

I haven't sustained any notable injuries. Anyway, I can perform first aid on myself. [Prepared to be More Tired. Sorry, Josuke.] What do you know about fighting?

I've been trained by two of the best organizations [people, but he doesn't want to say that] my world has to offer.

[ Excuse you, Damian? Josuke's grown to be pretty good at fighting from having so many people come brawl with him. He may not be formally trained, but he's won most of his fights so far! Of course, while that's going on in his head, he decides to do the mature thing and not assert his capabilities out loud. He doesn't particularly like to fight, anyway. ]

The best fighting organisations ... Like the WWF, that they show in America? [ First thing that comes to Josuke's mind. Even if he knows it's all fake. ]

You know, you look way too young to be sounding so serious about everything.

[Damian makes the worst, most disgusted face imaginable. The WHAT? What the fuck, Josuke!] No!

That's pretentious nonsense--entertainment. We are far removed from any of that mindless and asinine drivel. [Lord, he sounds so defensive. Josuke really hit a nerve with that one. (Damian is just a sensitive baby.)] I've learned extensive combat and detective skills, things even many old people would never hope to master in their lifetime.

[ Fighting and detective skills? What is this kid. He's either got some major Middle-School Syndrome, or he's somehow telling the truth. ] I don't know, I kinda like it, even if I know it's all fake.

[ He's a teenager from 1999. Wrestling and arcades make up 70% of his life, probably. Sure, whatever, not a game, cool. ] What are you? The world's smallest police detective?

[Josuke just continues to set himself up to be endlessly judged by Damian. How can someone possibly like or find any enjoyment out of entertainment wrestling? He doesn't understand.]

Aren't detectives usually involved with the police? [ He's thinking about his late grandpa who was a police detective. Where Josuke comes from, detectives tend to be with the police, yeah. Also, RIP Officer Higashikata, forever missed. ]

Oh! I get it. The World's Tiniest Private Eye ...? [ Okay, he's just teasing at this point. Big bros tease little bros, it's the law of the universe. ]

We don't work as police. We're affiliated with them distantly. We assist them in apprehending criminal masterminds, but we aren't a part of the police force itself.

[ Hmmm. ] Like a vigilante kinda thing? Can't believe people actually do that.

[ He probably should have caught on sooner but Josuke does not read comics. That's for nerds, clearly. ]

Guess it explains the costume. I thought you were on your way to a themed birthday party. It's cute, though ... [ So colourful! And it even has an 'R' emblem, which he assumes stands for 'Robin'. ]

[God. GoDDD.] It's not a costume. It's a uniform. [Thanks. How many times will he have to explain this? A lot probably. Maybe he should just ditch the thing to spare him the suffering.]

It's not "cute"! It's efficient and practical.

[ It's adorable?? The colours look so lively and fun, even if Damian's personality really doesn't suit them. ] Yeah, I guess spandex gives you that ease of movement, but a cape, man? Someone's gonna grab it and deck you before you know it.

[ Only, if Josuke couldn't even grab Damian's hand before, maybe Damian is highly prepared to stop that from happening. Anyway, moving on. ]

Now, if I were to choose a vigilante costume ... it's gotta be something streamlined and sexy. Maybe I'll even show off my chest. Yeah.

[ Fool-proof plan. ]

You seem incapable of grasping just how skilled I am, and just how well-made this cloak is. Under no circumstances would it become a hindrance to me and my abilities.

[Which is just his way of trying to say: it can be detached quickly and easily in the worst of situations, and he's plenty capable enough of using it to his advantage. Without, uh, actually giving away his secrets.]

You can't be serious. The uniforms aren't about sensual appeal. And unless that "Stand" of yours can reflect attacks, having an exposed upper body would be stupid. That's the first place someone would try to hit.

But, y'know, it'd look really good ... [ Buzzkill. This kid is way too serious. Josuke was just daydreaming anyway, he's really not the 'stalk around at night and fight crime' type. Also, his Stand could protect him just fine. Showing off the chest is completely feasible! ]

[ A very smort plan that involved shooting down buckets and riding them back up as he fixes them with his power. Oh well, it's all moot now. They're out, and they should focus on getting their bearings. Josuke actually intends to stick around this kid, mostly to keep an eye on him and also because it's always a good idea to stay together. Damian may be a bit of a prick, but he did help Josuke out of the well. He's not all that bad. ]

It's 'Robin', right? I'm Josuke. Josuke Higashikata. We don't know anything about this place yet, so it's probably best that we stick together.

[ He'll walk him to where he wants to go, at least. Baby-sitting... ]

We should probably find some shelter from the rain. There was a letter before - mine's soaked now - but it mentioned something about having an assigned house. Mine's in Ruga. What's yours?

[ He'll bring the babby home at least. Still in baby-sitting mode even if he's being bullied left and right, truly this is a trial. ]
