ou wake in knee-deep water, cold as ice and stagnant, in a space that is far too echoey and spacious. It feels like a massive cave, but looking up... there's only one small, circular opening that shows grey sky and shines any sort of light.

It looks like a long trip upwards, a small cylinder with walls of brick that's just a little too high to reach, even when jumping. Getting out is probably going to be a bit of a task, especially considering the water is more than cold enough to make limbs go numb.

The dark makes it impossible to see much further, but the space seems large, all filled with water, but with no other way out, stone walls the only thing for an intrepid explorer to find. Oh, and to make things even better, it's raining today. Water from below (though thankfully only like, knee-deep), and water from above... how fun.

But most importantly of all... you're not alone.

Welcome to Awash's second intro log, everyone! Please review the FAQ and rules before playing. New characters have all woken at the bottom of the well in the middle of the town (which seems a lot bigger on the inside, somehow), and it looks like they'll have to put in some work to get out. Thankfully, they have some friends on the outside, this time.

Once out, they'll be free to explore the various locations the Town has to offer at will. Just try not to die on any of the far-too-rickety walkways.

_{[ Yeah.. at first, it sounds like none of his crew are here to his knowledge. He's kind of sad about that, truthfully, even if they were a big mess in their session before they met up with John's party. He misses them and he's worried about them and he honestly hopes none of them hate him. Then, John says somebody's name that he wasn't sure was here or not? Dirk's here? Somewhere? This is news to him! ]}

Yeah, man, he was having a not-staring contest with his puppet earlier. You guys must have missed each other in the well. That is pretty easy to do, considering. [Considering the well is dark and wet and cold. This is better than trying to puzzle out timelines right now.] I didn't know you were here or I would have told him when I saw him.

O-oh, well.. it's quite alright that you didn't pass the word along! Um, it might be best if we just get settled on our own for awhile.

_{[ It's good that he knows that Dirk is here, though. He's both relieved and nervous to know that fact. It's shown by the way he presses his hands to his eyes and runs them down his face. He's tugging on his face slightly, green eyes peering through his fingers. It's fine. They just haven't really spoken since the whole trickster bullshit and Jake is lingering on all of that far too much.

He forces a smile on his face and drops his hands. ]}

John, I don't reckon you could help me with that, could you? You and I can be stuck to the hips like peas and carrots! I guess until I get the familiarity of this place. That wouldn't be too much of a bother, would it? Dirk is my best bro, but I think I want to rest here for awhile before talking to him formally.

Are you sure? [That's. Weird? Why would you want to go immediately find your friends? John would try to find the girls straight away and he watches Jake's body language even if he doesn't necessarily know what that's all about. He raises his eyebrows though even if he smiles back.

Jake, he has so many questions???]

Um...well yeah, sure dude! We can hang out during the day and stuff. And you have housemates you can get to know, too! Do you know what district you're living in yet?

He decides to leave that conversation as it is and just exhales in relief. Okay, good. He's not infringing on John's space or anything, so with this invitation he feels his lips pulling upward in a bigger smile. ]}

I haven't the scarcest! But it's quite alright, bud. I'll get to know them soon enough. I feel like I should get to know you better first.. especially since Dave said we're from different timelines. After all, we're kind of family, aren't we?

[Different timelines!!! That sure is something!! But he can't help but grin a little at the word "family" because it's true. He wanted to meet Jake and Jane before all of this and now he has the chance. So the sentiment's the same. And he gives Jake a curious look.]

I think so! If Jade is my sister and you are Jade's grandpa but she is also your grandma but also biologically you're kind of her dad, does that mean you're also kind of like my dad? Maybe that doesn't matter.

If my memory serves me right, I asked you some important questions in my letter to you with good ole Mr. Terry Kiser and all those other assets. Remember, John? Remember I talked about movies and whatnot with you?

Well, I've given it more thought.. and I think I'm ready to find out..

[He looks confused for a second before--] Oh, you mean Liv Tyler? Yes, I remember! I got your letter. [There's a grin though because...wow. Jake's just as much of a nerd as he is. This is awesome? But gosh, what is he supposed to tell him? Movies are very important and he remembers Jake's letter pretty clearly. Up until about a year ago, he would have had a great and perfect answer!

But...times change. People change. And so he thinks.]

My favorite movie...that is a really good question! But I think I had to go with a favorite, maybe Ghostbusters. [Because Con Air continues to be a disappointment now and he hasn't gotten over it yet.]

A capital answer, John! Nothing like a movie about a couple of boneheaded scientists hunting some silly ghosts in crazy hijinks, opening a portal to unleash all hell on New York City.

I dare say, I cannot simply choose just one either, but as I mentioned, I'm fond of Weekend at Bernies.

How about wrestling? Do you get a kick out of knocking a buddy to the ground, grappling one another until uncle? It's one of my greatest past times, and back home I even had a robot who would get feisty with me whenever I wanted.

I remember that. [Jake's like. Chatty. And he figures it's maybe a trait that runs in their whole family but before he can commentate on the movie, Jake's already moving on. His eyes widen and he shakes his head slightly.]
