Intro Log.

It's raining, it's pouring.
The old man is snoring.
He bumped his head and went to bed
And he couldn't get up in the morning.

ou wake in knee-deep water, cold as ice and stagnant, in a space that is far too echoey and spacious. It feels like a massive cave, but looking up... there's only one small, circular opening that shows grey sky and shines any sort of light.

It looks like a long trip upwards, a small cylinder with walls of brick that's just a little too high to reach, even when jumping. Getting out is probably going to be a bit of a task, especially considering the water is more than cold enough to make limbs go numb.

The dark makes it impossible to see much further, but the space seems large, all filled with water, but with no other way out, stone walls the only thing for an intrepid explorer to find. Oh, and to make things even better, it's raining today. Water from below (though thankfully only like, knee-deep), and water from above... how fun.

But most importantly of all... you're not alone.

Welcome to Awash's second intro log, everyone! Please review the FAQ and rules before playing. New characters have all woken at the bottom of the well in the middle of the town (which seems a lot bigger on the inside, somehow), and it looks like they'll have to put in some work to get out. Thankfully, they have some friends on the outside, this time.

Once out, they'll be free to explore the various locations the Town has to offer at will. Just try not to die on any of the far-too-rickety walkways.

Please feel free to ask any questions here and don't forget to greet your fellow players here!

[Guren did absolutely nothing wrong and Crowley is the one who throws books like a heathen. Guren sighs, because everything is annoying to him, or at least he likes it to look like that. The truth is, he's a little tired, and both Mika and Crowley appearing here at the same time, without a sign of anyone else... It's tiring, because he's personally taken it upon himself to feel responsible for it all. Their source of food, their place in it all... And, of course, everyone else reacting to it.

He won't go on about the forest if Crowley isn't interested. It's good if he's not. And he won't waste time getting to the point at all.]

I don't want you treating the people here like livestock.

[Obviously, he can't stop name calling and however many old ass years it was that Crowley's been a vampire leaving behavior ingrained in him. But he's not so worried about that part.] I mean their blood. You can have some of mine whenever you need it, so I want you to leave them out of it. Most of them don't even know what vampires are.

[He thinks it's a very fair deal!!]

That's asking for a lot.

[ From beginning to end.

The request--or rather, the order--to treat these individuals with a little more decency than he would others is expected, however, but foolish. Eight hundred years were spent adjusting to into acknowledging the selfishness of humans and their hypocrisy for judging a vampire's way of life, so a sudden change isn't going to happen over night. Not even when there's a proposal as delicious as knowing he would have his own personal blood bank.

But then again... this way is easier, and Crowley is much more accepting of what comes easily. ]

It's just our way of life, if livestock have a problem with it... well, you already know how that goes. [ He doesn't hesitate to extend a hand, pushing it against Guren's shoulder and basically shoving him against the bookshelf. Towering over the human his crimson eyes seem to gleam with mild entertainment, the corners of his mouth curled into a pleasantly terrifying smile. ] Or do you just miss having someone who'll depend on you?

[ Because he doesn't want to believe that this was a decision made selflessly; much more willing to believe that it's done with the want to be needed. It sounds much more human, to him, after all. ]

[His back hits the bookshelf but his face doesn't falter. The way his heart rate spikes might give away more than he'd like, but he still won't give up on the serious expression he's giving Crowley. He's in no place to make demands. Crowley could mop the floor with him in most cases, he's sure, even if he had a very elaborate plan— and he knows it's a risk to bring this up at all.

The worst case would be encouraging Crowley to bug others more with this. The best case would be supplying him with his own blood to satisfy any urges, and Crowley feeling fine with just that for one weird reason or another. Middle of the line he'd even take, which is supplying him blood and dealing with whatever cases come from his boredom. But he doesn't want panic, and he doesn't want a problem.]

It's not that. [Firmly, his eyes focused on Crowley's.] Our numbers are limited here. We're working on finding a way home. Having blood supplied for you should only be a benefit.

What's so difficult about that?

[personal profile] eusford 2018-05-25 05:52 am (UTC)(link)
[ It's unfortunate that Crowley can hear the sudden spike of Guren's heartbeat, because the grin on his face only seems to widen. It's true that the human's expression never falters, but just that small indication that his actions did something to force something out of him; it's exciting, poking at his curiosity.

He pulls his hand back, however, when he receives his answer. ]

It's not a bad idea~ But you know they'll soon learn what I am whether you like it or not.

[personal profile] swordfucker 2018-05-25 06:01 am (UTC)(link)
I don't care if they know what you are.

[Now that his shoulder is free again, Guren ignores that wider grin and stands taller, away from the bookshelf, granting himself that much space.]

I just care that they aren't used as livestock. [He doesn't want that fear spreading, so if he can stop it in any way... Then he intends to. And maybe he likes to have the control, too.] I agreed to the same thing with Mika, so I can meet up with you every few days to hand it over, too.

[personal profile] eusford 2018-05-27 05:52 am (UTC)(link)
[ "Stands taller"... smiles from 6'3". ]

But what if they want to help? Who am I to reject someone's helping hand~? [ Of course he's only teasing him at this point, which is probably made obvious when he follows it up with: ] You do know that I prefer drinking from the source, right?
swordfucker: (53)

[personal profile] swordfucker 2018-05-27 05:57 am (UTC)(link)
[SHUT UP THAT'S EXACTLY WHY HE HAS TO STAND TALLER

Anyway, Guren scowls in response to this, eyes narrowing both in his annoyance and in thought.]

If drinking from the source will make you reject someone's helping hand, then fine. I don't care. [Don't joke or tease with him, he responds all serious like this and it's embarrassing?]
eusford: (pic#11649695)

[personal profile] eusford 2018-05-27 06:19 am (UTC)(link)
[ Crowley breathes out something akin to a snort, his expression turning smug as he places a hand to his hip and shifts his weight onto one foot. ]

You're so easy, I almost feel bad for walking all over you like this. [ Almost meaning not at all. ] I can't make any promises, but if you're hellbent on this then whatever. You know I'm no where near like most of the other vampires from my world, I'm not just going to bite into whoever simply because I feel like it.
swordfucker: (170)

[personal profile] swordfucker 2018-05-27 06:25 am (UTC)(link)
[He's so infuriated by vampires being casual about vampire shit... Still, the most he does is glare, and bring his hand to Crowley's chest for a light push, stepping further away from the bookshelves.]

Shut up. The only reason I'm telling you this is because you're the type to listen. I'm leading a defense force here, and we're all working together, so that should be enough for it to be a benefit.

[Plus, Crowley not wanting to drink from someone when he doesn't know where they've been, he guesses? Fine, that works out.] You can ask me if you have any questions about this place. Have you found your laptop yet?
eusford: (pic#11720722)

[personal profile] eusford 2018-05-27 06:36 am (UTC)(link)
[ Of course he moves the second Guren lifts his hand, giving him more than enough room to achieve the space he desires. ]

So I really am just an abandoned puppy in your eyes, aren't I? [ He's just being handed from Ferid to this human... this isn't even a complaint! Just a mild observation. ]

... We've got laptops?
swordfucker: (222)

[personal profile] swordfucker 2018-05-27 06:39 am (UTC)(link)
You gave yourself that reputation.

[Damn... Just like that. Well, he is kind of like an abandoned puppy though...?? Guren doesn't think he owns him or anything, of course, and he's not like Ferid in that way, but he's going to make use of it however he can. Crowley is a good force to have on his side.]

But, yeah, we do. You've probably got the feeling that you want to go to one district over the others, even if you're a bloodsucker. [Human feelings aside!] Your designated house will be somewhere in that district, with a laptop meant for you.
eusford: (pic#11560437)

[personal profile] eusford 2018-05-27 07:00 am (UTC)(link)
[ Well he can't argue against that. And he doesn't even want to, considering that sounds like much more work than just going with the flow and agreeing with him--it's not like they're too far off the mark of how Crowley is as a person. ]

Hm... well, now that you mention it, before coming here I did feel as if a part of me wanted to go elsewhere. So this place actually manages to have that much power over us...

How frightening.

[ But he doesn't appear or sound the least bit troubled. No one is surprised. ]
swordfucker: (213)

[personal profile] swordfucker 2018-05-27 07:04 am (UTC)(link)
[Everything sounds so pleasant when Crowley says it.]

It is concerning. [Guren's going to go ahead and start gathering up books to put back. He even shoves a stack of them at Crowley? It's worth a shot.]

The first month here, the furniture started talking. Not just that, but it was speaking from our own thoughts and worries, for everyone to hear. This town isn't normal. Something bigger is behind it.
eusford: (pic#11560435)

[personal profile] eusford 2018-05-28 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
[ And what does Crowley do?

Lift his hands up as if he has no fucking idea what's going on and watches as all the books fall to the floor again. You tried, Guren... ]

Well, I can't really say I'd be very pleased with an armchair going off about how I lived a considerable amount of my life being miserable. [ ... but? There is no but. ] Has anyone gotten stabbed?
swordfucker: (170)

[personal profile] swordfucker 2018-05-28 04:02 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. By our own shadows.

[Guren gestures at one of the many, many parts of his uniform that appear to be, on closer inspection, stitched up.]

No one has died, though. Only gone missing, or in some cases, turned to stone. The ones who turn to stone seem to return to normal. We're still not sure why.
eusford: (pic#11722967)

[personal profile] eusford 2018-05-29 03:50 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Oh. ]

Well... better you than someone else. [ He's just going to pat Guren on the shoulder. Briefly, of course, as he immediately draws his hand back soon after. ]

I heard that the forest is a weird place, could people being turned to stone be because of something from there? Like a monster, of some sort... a cockatrice?
swordfucker: (89)

[personal profile] swordfucker 2018-05-30 05:02 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks.

[OTHER PEOPLE WERE STABBED... But Guren was probably stabbed the most, so it is fine, really.] Anyway, I thought about that, but people turn to stone in their very own homes, and usually without any involvement with the forest immediately prior. The monsters don't seem to leave the forest and enter the town, either, unless provoked.
