ou wake in knee-deep water, cold as ice and stagnant, in a space that is far too echoey and spacious. It feels like a massive cave, but looking up... there's only one small, circular opening that shows grey sky and shines any sort of light.

It looks like a long trip upwards, a small cylinder with walls of brick that's just a little too high to reach, even when jumping. Getting out is probably going to be a bit of a task, especially considering the water is more than cold enough to make limbs go numb.

The dark makes it impossible to see much further, but the space seems large, all filled with water, but with no other way out, stone walls the only thing for an intrepid explorer to find. Oh, and to make things even better, it's raining today. Water from below (though thankfully only like, knee-deep), and water from above... how fun.

But most importantly of all... you're not alone.

Welcome to Awash's second intro log, everyone! Please review the FAQ and rules before playing. New characters have all woken at the bottom of the well in the middle of the town (which seems a lot bigger on the inside, somehow), and it looks like they'll have to put in some work to get out. Thankfully, they have some friends on the outside, this time.

Once out, they'll be free to explore the various locations the Town has to offer at will. Just try not to die on any of the far-too-rickety walkways.

[ hnng. she's noticed the same thing. annabeth isn't opposed to rooming with people she's never met - it happened year-round at camp half-blood, although she was at least related to all those people via her mother - but she does have a moment of regret that the one person she knows isn't assigned here.

it's not like percy won't show up like a cat eventually, though, and she mentally shrugs it off. since neither of the guys has offered up names, she starts briskly. ]

[Full disclosure, Ling is only here to see what it's like abd will disappear out the window again sooner rather than later. He might be breaking and entering into his own house and climbing on counters, but he's harmless! For sure!]

Ling Yao, [he says, and does not bother offering anything more detailed than that because no one will know what he's saying anyway. Ling Yao: hungry guy. That will do.] You're both uncomfortable, aren't you?

[ person who is opposed to living with people he's never met: bruce. he is absolutely going to lay low for a few weeks and then find a house on the very edge of the woods and move in there instead. see ya, nerds.

but for now, he introduces himself. there's a slight pause as he debates a fake name or not but... no, not right now. too many people here know him as bruce wayne so -- ]

Bruce Wayne.

[ there's a beat, he waits for any recollection to appear on their faces before continuing. ]

Well, we're all wet and confused, aren't we?

[ "bruce wayne" is maybe familiar but annabeth doesn't overtly react or seem to care much. she's scowling at ling a little because wow??? maybe she's comfortable??? she at least seems a little drier than she should be, but that's the benefit of dating someone who can control water. not completely dry, but at least not soaked. ]

This kind of thing is actually pretty normal for me.

[Yeah, Ling has no idea who Bruce Wayne is, but that's the least weird thing here so far. And they're both clearly judging him for his unconventional entrance, so!! That's discomfort!!]

[ no recognition, thank god. that's actually a bit of a relief, he can be a little more himself now with that.

Being kidnapped is normal for you?

The boxes? Do you mean the thing ones? The laptops?

[ she just. drags out the miniaturized daedalus laptop for a sort of explanation since she left her actual laptop in her room - it's about smartphone sized with a greek delta symbol on the back.

Those, yes. They don't turn on if you take them outside of this house, apparently!

They're probably location bound to the house they belong to. They don't quite fit with the rest of the rustic feeling of the town, do they? A necessity more than anything else.

They connect to some sort of information trading hub. [ she just. words it that way for ling. ] I read back a ways and it seems to back up what I've heard from other people - they all got here maybe two months back and have been...

There's a mystery man who gives out quests, but no one has found him yet.

Whatever it is, it does seem to give out "rewards" for quests. I've done a few today to test it out.

[ well, fine. he'll look to Annabeth for that too because he hasn't tested out the quests yet either and he doesn't know if they're an immediate delivery or not. ]

As far as I can tell and from what Midoriya told me, they tend to be waiting at the cottage after it's finished. I suppose you could take a quest and have someone standing guard in the cottage to see if they just show up?
