Intro Log.

It's raining, it's pouring.
The old man is snoring.
He bumped his head and went to bed
And he couldn't get up in the morning.

ou wake in knee-deep water, cold as ice and stagnant, in a space that is far too echoey and spacious. It feels like a massive cave, but looking up... there's only one small, circular opening that shows grey sky and shines any sort of light.

It looks like a long trip upwards, a small cylinder with walls of brick that's just a little too high to reach, even when jumping. Getting out is probably going to be a bit of a task, especially considering the water is more than cold enough to make limbs go numb.

The dark makes it impossible to see much further, but the space seems large, all filled with water, but with no other way out, stone walls the only thing for an intrepid explorer to find. Oh, and to make things even better, it's raining today. Water from below (though thankfully only like, knee-deep), and water from above... how fun.

But most importantly of all... you're not alone.

Welcome to Awash's second intro log, everyone! Please review the FAQ and rules before playing. New characters have all woken at the bottom of the well in the middle of the town (which seems a lot bigger on the inside, somehow), and it looks like they'll have to put in some work to get out. Thankfully, they have some friends on the outside, this time.

Once out, they'll be free to explore the various locations the Town has to offer at will. Just try not to die on any of the far-too-rickety walkways.

Please feel free to ask any questions here and don't forget to greet your fellow players here!

[A slightly annoyed sigh, tossing some of her blonde curls over her shoulder.]

Yes yes, let's begin. I am ell aware we have a flood of newcomers now.
hydrokinetics: (As I walked out on the ledge)

[personal profile] hydrokinetics 2018-05-16 04:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Newcomers huh. [That answers one question at least and he keeps twirling the pen while he nods. The rain bounces off of him harmlessly.] So that means you've been here for a while? How long has it been?
troubadamsel: (Lowborn Filth!)

[personal profile] troubadamsel 2018-05-16 05:07 pm (UTC)(link)
I believe it's been well over a month now, perhaps slightly longer...

[Another sigh, but this one is just sad.]

In the beginning we weren't really in any state of mind to keep track of things right away. You understand.
hydrokinetics: (yet all the same)

[personal profile] hydrokinetics 2018-05-17 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
Right, of course. It's probably pretty disorienting to show up here out of nowhere. Everybody showed up in the well this time. Was that true back then, too? [He's not stupid enough to ask if there's a way to leave. If there was, people would have done it by now.] The town sort of looks like it's gone through a few changes.

[Did it used to be colorful and go monochrome, or was the monochrome what they found first?]
troubadamsel: (I'm By Your Side!)

[personal profile] troubadamsel 2018-05-17 07:28 pm (UTC)(link)
[She nods to his question.]

Yes, that is how we of the first batch arrived - in the well, dripping wet and very confused. But when emerged, there wasn't any color here at all, not even in the grass.
hydrokinetics: (When you hear a song from that big lady)

[personal profile] hydrokinetics 2018-05-17 07:41 pm (UTC)(link)
[Interesting...]

So what happened here that made some of the color start to come back? I get that everybody showed up and that's probably a big part of it, but it seems weird that just being here would change something like that. What've you guys been doing this whole time?
troubadamsel: (Default)

[personal profile] troubadamsel 2018-05-17 09:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, before I get into that... Do you know what a "computer" is?

[Because she never did before she came here, so explaining it will be. weird.]
hydrokinetics: (Then they'll say to me say to me)

[personal profile] hydrokinetics 2018-05-17 10:39 pm (UTC)(link)
[It should be a question he's surprised by, but he's dealt with enough people to know better.]

Yeah. We have them where I'm from. I'm gonna guess we have them here?
troubadamsel: (I'm By Your Side!)

[personal profile] troubadamsel 2018-05-18 06:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, we all have them in our homes.

[A smidgen jealous she didn't have to explain.]

It is inside these devices that we find the quests.
hydrokinetics: (I'm sure you've heard)

[personal profile] hydrokinetics 2018-05-20 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
Gotcha. Do we know what happens if we don't complete these quests?
troubadamsel: (Permit Me Darling.)

[personal profile] troubadamsel 2018-05-20 07:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Whatever colors we managed to get back, they vanish. And it'd be fine if it was just for appearances, but... apparently here, if food has no color, it tastes like ash.
hydrokinetics: (Surrounded in the thick of it)

[personal profile] hydrokinetics 2018-05-21 05:52 pm (UTC)(link)
[He instinctively makes a face.] Gross. That's the part I think I'm stuck on. The color's gone, but the rain water's acting up, too.

[Not that most people can tell, maybe, beyond the fact it's gray and not fresh like real rain.] I want to know how whoever brought us here is controlling all of this.

[personal profile] troubadamsel 2018-05-21 10:58 pm (UTC)(link)
[Rain water? She hadn't really noticed that. Strange.]

That's what we all want to know. And with all of us working together, we'll find out.
hydrokinetics: (Quiet and confident)

[personal profile] hydrokinetics 2018-05-21 11:42 pm (UTC)(link)
That's what I like to hear. [There's a grin suddenly and his shoulders relax, giving Maribelle another semi-grateful look.] Thanks for the rundown.

[There's a pause.] I'm Percy. [May as well introduce himself to the people he's staying with.]
troubadamsel: (Default)

[personal profile] troubadamsel 2018-05-22 09:42 pm (UTC)(link)
[Hand to her chest, slight bow.]

I am Maribelle. A pleasure, I'm sure.
hydrokinetics: (Id like to believe all the possibilities)

[personal profile] hydrokinetics 2018-05-23 03:32 am (UTC)(link)
Sure. [Fancy. But he's used to people speaking formally and highly of themselves so it rolls right off of him.] You've been a ton of help so far. I appreciate it. Anything else I should be worried about around here?
troubadamsel: (Default)

[personal profile] troubadamsel 2018-05-23 06:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Hm, let's see... avoid the woods, unless absolutely necessary.
hydrokinetics: (A piece of my soul escaped)

[personal profile] hydrokinetics 2018-05-24 07:32 pm (UTC)(link)
What else is out there? [He always assumes there's dangerous stuff in the woods of any foreign place, but it doesn't hurt to ask.]
troubadamsel: (Default)

[personal profile] troubadamsel 2018-05-24 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
All sorts of different monsters. It's as if every time we go in there, there's something new waiting to hurt us.
hydrokinetics: (There's no reason)

[personal profile] hydrokinetics 2018-05-26 06:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Typical. [A bit annoyed? Yes, maybe.] If it's also bringing in new monsters every time we head into the forest that means this town's an even bigger problem than I thought. But we won't know until we head in multiple times.
troubadamsel: (Permit Me Darling.)

[personal profile] troubadamsel 2018-05-26 07:19 pm (UTC)(link)
... You're not thinking of going in there now, are you?

[you just got here, don't get yourself killed.]
hydrokinetics: (The monster that you see)

sorry for the delay!

[personal profile] hydrokinetics 2018-05-30 05:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Not right this minute. I might give it a few days before then, get to know the place a little, but not right now.
troubadamsel: (Permit Me Darling.)

no worries, life happens

[personal profile] troubadamsel 2018-05-30 09:30 pm (UTC)(link)
That's... slightly reassuring.
hydrokinetics: (Default)

[personal profile] hydrokinetics 2018-06-01 09:15 pm (UTC)(link)
There's plenty of time for that. [He might be kidding? But probably not.] I should report back to my partner. But I'll see you around? Looks like we'll be here for a while.
