Intro Log.

It's raining, it's pouring.
The old man is snoring.
He bumped his head and went to bed
And he couldn't get up in the morning.

ou wake in knee-deep water, cold as ice and stagnant, in a space that is far too echoey and spacious. It feels like a massive cave, but looking up... there's only one small, circular opening that shows grey sky and shines any sort of light.

It looks like a long trip upwards, a small cylinder with walls of brick that's just a little too high to reach, even when jumping. Getting out is probably going to be a bit of a task, especially considering the water is more than cold enough to make limbs go numb.

The dark makes it impossible to see much further, but the space seems large, all filled with water, but with no other way out, stone walls the only thing for an intrepid explorer to find. Oh, and to make things even better, it's raining today. Water from below (though thankfully only like, knee-deep), and water from above... how fun.

But most importantly of all... you're not alone.

Welcome to Awash's second intro log, everyone! Please review the FAQ and rules before playing. New characters have all woken at the bottom of the well in the middle of the town (which seems a lot bigger on the inside, somehow), and it looks like they'll have to put in some work to get out. Thankfully, they have some friends on the outside, this time.

Once out, they'll be free to explore the various locations the Town has to offer at will. Just try not to die on any of the far-too-rickety walkways.

Please feel free to ask any questions here and don't forget to greet your fellow players here!

Humans need both salt and water to live.

[ Is she wrong? ]

We can run as many as you'd like. I want to get to the bottom of this, too.

[For all his smiling earlier, Izuku's definitely serious about this.]
athenite: (ARGUE ► you're a dumbass.)

[personal profile] athenite 2018-05-20 12:59 am (UTC)(link)
Drinking salt water kind of dehydrates you. And can lead to death by dehydration?

Stop your whining. It's because you're just a kid.

[A kid who sent a pigeon for help, from what he can tell... Weird, but clearly she needed it. He shoos her again, but at least at her request to help, he looks her way again.]

You can help in other ways. Go get more people to come this way. Tell them you just came out of the well.
good_ideas: (geez || kinda worried. maybe. sorta.)

[Mafuyu...no... Unfortunately psychometry doesn't come with the ability to see the future so Shiho's left worried as the other girl tries to speak with her mouth full than starts to cough.

Coughing is... good, she knows that much from Sakaki. It means there's still breathing going on. But she didn't bring water so all she can do is panic, hands up as she swings between patting Mafuyu on the back and knowing that she shouldn't because of her powers.]

D-Don't try to talk, just try and swallow as much as you can? [She doesn't know, she's also not a doctor either.]
buncho: (050)

[personal profile] buncho 2018-05-20 01:02 am (UTC)(link)
But there's water... How does that even work?

[ This sounds like something she was supposed to have learned in school, but didn't because she was too busy drawing rabbits in her notebook or something. ]
buncho: (027)

[personal profile] buncho 2018-05-20 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not a kid!

[ She's barely sixteen, she's a kid, but no teenager ever thinks of themselves as one. She doesn't know her way around the town either, but being an errand runner is something she's used to so... ugh. ]

Fine. Do you just need people? What else do you need?

[personal profile] athenite 2018-05-20 01:05 am (UTC)(link)
Your body can only handle so much salt at once. And it basically overloads it like that and you need more fresh water to fix it.

[At least she won't feel like a kid amongst the town of 16 year olds!! Guren looks back down into the well, helping whoever he is up and out.]

Most of the houses that are grey are unoccupied, right now. If you can find anything to help dry people off or keep them warm, and keep them dry enough on the way back here, then that'd be good, too.

Or, more rope.

[personal profile] buncho 2018-05-20 01:09 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm... How 'bout this? Don't drink any sea water until you're really really thirsty, and then only a little bit only when you need to? That way, you won't overload!

[ there's a balance somewhere, and that balance is an increasingly thin line between life and death ]
buncho: (043)

[personal profile] buncho 2018-05-20 01:11 am (UTC)(link)
[ Instead, she'll be calling Guren "Old Man." ]

Rope, towels, people... I can do that! I'll leave Josephine here, so if you need me, just send her to find me!
nipzips: (and they don't stop coming)

[personal profile] nipzips 2018-05-20 01:19 am (UTC)(link)
Those are really their names? What's with that Pops of yours ...

[ 'Lust' is just a mean thing to name a girl. Imagine all the harassment she'd get from guys, especially if she's a pretty girl. And 'Gluttony'? Now, that's just cruel.

In Josuke's mind, Greed's father is just a weird guy who probably thought naming his kids after the seven sins would be funny. He has no idea Father actually made these children to help him ... eat the sun, or something. ]

[ Swallowing is the opposite of what she wants to do (hack her lungs out) but she's got to choose one or the other, and she settles on holding her breath and doing neither until the burning subsides.

...

One more cough, and she's okay. ]

...What a waste. I wanted to enjoy that orange, and I had to swallow most of it.
swordfucker: (213)

[personal profile] swordfucker 2018-05-20 01:21 am (UTC)(link)
...Alright. Thanks.

[A pigeon named Josephine... A smart bird. But he's not sure he'll end up needing her back any faster than her already coming back with the supplies. Still, he nods, and turns his attention back to the well, not caring how soaked he's getting in the rain himself.

He'll be pulling people out one by one until she comes back!!]
good_ideas: (evil || yeah I really don't care)

[personal profile] good_ideas 2018-05-20 01:21 am (UTC)(link)
[Talking chickens seems like something that would happen so even though Shiho has a good enough idea what's down there just from touching the well, she does hesitate for a second.

...Was this some kind of reference? She doesn't get it unfortunately.]

Talking chickens, huh... This is Shiho. Shiho Sannomiya and I guess I'm here to get you out of there?
windeity: (CURIOUS ♫ interest piqued)

[personal profile] windeity 2018-05-20 01:21 am (UTC)(link)
Not yet, no. [He looks apologetic when Sora asks.] A lot of us have tried finding a way but so far we are pretty stuck. What's the usual way?
nipzips: (i don't know if i need you but)

[personal profile] nipzips 2018-05-20 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
You're naming it now? [ Don't get attached, Okuyasu. They can't keep this frog. And ah, that second line is making him a little depressed. While he was feeling glad about winning the bet before, Josuke visibly deflates. ]

What have our lives come to, if old cans are considered a luxury? I'd kill for a plate of Tonio's spaghetti right now.

[ Tonio!!! Save them, Tonio. ]
windeity: (GOOFY ♫ whoops!!)

[Farewell, Cal. He doesn't mind that the puppet suddenly disappears and he hums to himself.] Have you found your laptop yet? There should have been one waiting for you at whatever house you're staying at. When you log in you'll see the forum and you can see the quest posts that Mr. F has been putting up, but there are also requirements for what colors work. Like one of the quests was learning a new skill but it required at least one person who was assigned to red! I think they don't work or turn out right if the colors are wrong.
bloodcravings: (but I hate vampires too)

[personal profile] bloodcravings 2018-05-20 01:27 am (UTC)(link)
Humans can be monsters too.

[His own parents were pretty terrible, the ones who experimented on them.]
good_ideas: (evil || would I lie to you?)

[personal profile] good_ideas 2018-05-20 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
Don't know, but that's a thought, isn't it? [And what was to stop them from hunting that person down and making them sorry anyway??]
buncho: (075)

[personal profile] buncho 2018-05-20 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
[ There'll be people returning to the well one by one as Mafuyu goes around finding them, shouting for help at the top of her lungs and with how tiny the town is, Guren can probably hear/track her progress all the way throughout, with occasional breaks in between as she kicks down a door or two to ransack the place for towels.

Rope is a little harder to find since she doesn't think of looking around the harbor or any storage sheds, but when she finally returns, it's with five belts looped around her waist and a dozen or so folded towels balanced on her head. You know how it's raining? These towels aren't going to do shit. ]

[ Ah. It's been a while since he's seen someone act like Mika. At least, someone who's acted like Mika that he wasn't already friends with. It's fine, though, Caramia just brushed it off very casually. He understood, after all, since they were technically strangers.

He, however, kept under the shelter of his coat, because rain was disgusting, and much unlike Mika, he got sick very easily. Which is mostly why he wanted to find suitable cover, honestly. He caught up with Mika, keeping some distance between the two, but still at his side, coaxing him over to one of the very few houses that had color to it. Despite how cold his guest might have been acting, he decided he'd be a good host anyway and hold the door open for Mika. Regardless of their attitudes, after all, the new people were just as confused and worried as the original few that showed up here, right? ]

These houses are horribly old, but you're welcome where ever you'd like-- I've fixed the floors and stairs so nothing will break. [ In hindsight, probably not a worry Mika would've had to begin with, but...

Well, moving on, he'd best not keep Mika's question waiting. He seemed the impatient type. ]
Anyway, the forest is... something we still don't understand. We tried making a map of it, but every time we enter, it changes somehow. On top of that, the creatures in there... definitely don't like us being in there. I don't really know it's wise to tell you of every little thing. I wouldn't want to overwhelm you, since you just got here.

[Izuku stares at him, shocked.]

You've... died? How...is it possible to revive people from death in your world?

[He doesn't doubt that Jake's telling the truth, but he's also really confused.]

[personal profile] good_ideas 2018-05-20 01:36 am (UTC)(link)
[Shiho is going to ask...Guren, probably. Since she knows where he lives and also that he's an irresponsible enough adult that he'd probably say yes. And does she have a problem with introducing the two??

Nope. Not at all. But that doesn't mean she can't tease her about it.]

Depends? What are you planning on using the tranqs for?
swordfucker: (221)

[personal profile] swordfucker 2018-05-20 01:36 am (UTC)(link)
[He told her to keep them dry— ahh, damn it. The rope is completely out of the well after he's just helped another person, and so he shoves it at her and grabs the towels from her head, holding them close to himself, trying to test if any of them are even a little dry.

He doesn't even want to criticize her on this when he could hear her trying so hard. At least people came.]

Take that rope and tie it to something stable so it's easier for you to help people up. I don't want to risk people falling back in.
