[Keith will indeed take a seat, with a shake of his head.] I'm fine, but yeah. I'd like to sit and talk.

[He manages a smile at the I've been worried about you bit. He's quick to assure him though,]

I've been fine. Honestly, I think I got off really easy on this one. I was just worried about where everyone was, if they were okay. ...and clearly I should've been.

[Look at you, Yusuke.]

...It was not dangerous otherwise, at least.

It was simply temptation around every corner, all manner of food that appeared that we weren't to eat at all.

[Yusuke's glance skitters away, but he's quick to look back. No regret! He still feels as though he did what he had to do, and he survived so that's good!]

Uh... counterpoint, not eating anything is pretty dangerous.

[That's just biology, Yusuke. SCIENCE. But Keith shakes his head.]

I'm just glad you're all right. That everyone seems to be... well. As all right as we get in this place.

[bufudyne]

[Yusuke fiddles with a piece of his hair, sheepish... Keith's got him there and he knows it. No comeback!

But the concern is nice. Truly. He's worn down, so anything positive soothes him.]

Yes... I haven't yet had a chance to check on everyone I wish to, but I'm certain they're all all right as well.

[Good. No arguing. But at least Yusuke is okay now. So Keith will let that matter drop just a bit.]

So far everyone I've looked in on is okay, and back...

[Which is a good sign, right?]

That's good. I do hope that is the same case for everyone.

[His tone's a little brighter.]

But I am certain it is. [Since Keith's seen people who're that way he's just going to trust it.]

I really hate feeling like we're being played with though. I'm sick of it.

[And what can they do about it? Nothing. It's frustrating, and that frustration shows in Keith's expression, in hands clenched into fists.]

Keith...

[The visible frustration gives him pause and he knows that Keith is the type of person who really hates this situation, so he shifts. He moves a little so that his upper body is leaning in his direction, attentive.]

I understand. I also feel... a lot of frustration being here. [Though that's also related to another matter, only partially due to the situations they find themselves in. But this is a prompt really, for Keith to vent his frustrations.]

I know. I know everyone is stuck here the same as I am. None of us are thrilled about it.

[A breath. But wow does he want to want to punch something. A lot. It would help him feel better. Except no. He's got a better grip of himself than that.]

It's just... there's nothing we can do but keep reacting to whatever they throw at us. There's no way to get ahead of it, or even figure out who's behind it. Everything just leads to dead ends.

[bufudyne]

[Yusuke watches him as he speaks, vents, nodding shortly as though in encouragement as Keith speaks.]

It is frustrating to not be able to anticipate how to proceed.

...It is rather in human nature to focus very much on the future. [He considers how to word it:] I find it... not so much easier, but more bolstering if I concentrate on the day. Day by day.

Day by day....

[Keith echoes. And okay that makes some sense, but he's never been good at that kind of focus, too restless, too wild. Patience yields focus. That's what Shiro had cautioned him again and again, and while he repeated that mantra often, it was still difficult for him.]

I don't know how good I'll be at that. But I can try.

[bufudyne]

Saying that you shall try is as important as doing.

[Yusuke tells him quite seriously... very solemn boy at times, this one.] When it gets to be too much, we can always spar, can we not?

[Because Keith isn't sure that's true. He tries a lot. He does. But he still fucks things up beyond all recognition more often than not. Despite his best efforts and intentions.

He manages a smile though.] Yeah. I'd like that. A lot.

[A good distraction, yes.]

It is. Even to try and fail. That is how people are.

[And after a pause...]

You are my important friend. I would like to share in what you feel, if only in part.

[HE CARES KEITH also he's tuckered so there's nothing inhibiting his words today. Not like there is usually anyway...]

[Keith... doesn't know how to handle such frank and serious words like that! Emotions and him are not the easiest of things to mix, and he hesitates for a moment.]

Yusuke...

[Jeez. Okay] That's... I mean. Me too. You too. You're important to me. I'm glad I met you. I'm... glad we're friends.

[There. He tried. He really really tried.]

[bufudyne]

[Yusuke's expression brightens into a contented smile and he nods in thanks.]

I am as well. Thank you, Keith.

[TRYING: IT WAS SUPER EFFECTIVE.]

[Oh thank god it wasn't an awkward mess that made Yusuke regret saying nice things, right?

Keith even offers a little smile of his own.]
