Did you have an artist in the family...?

My mother was. [Though Dave knows that she passed away when he was young.]

After she passed away, I was taken in by an artist of some renown.

I guess I usually had a sword or something nearby, myself?

[bufudyne]

[Huh. Yusuke doesn't know enough to even determine if that's usual or unusual... he thinks its the latter but.]

So you were always working on swordsmanship?

[parodeity]

My Bro emphasized trainin' in it, yeah. Probably he knew a bit about the game we'd play later - that is, that my life would go stupid and I'd have to fight monsters all the time. Who knows, really.

[bufudyne]

...How on earth did that happen? [IT SOUNDS PRETTY SUDDEN. Yusuke has also started to move on in the sketch, defining his earlier lines, building a bird-like shape in-between the background he's already created.]

[parodeity]

The monsters? We played a game, "Sburb". It kind of but not really caused the end of the world. The "not really" is because a meteor apocalypse was already happening and it was our one ticket out. But it was basically like joining an RPG thing.

[bufudyne]

[His pencil stops moving as he tries to process what he's hearing... hm. Hmmmm.]

How was it your one way out...?

[parodeity]

It moved us out of the way of the meteors and into the game.

I see... So was it like being taken into a different world?

[He gets back to sketching as the bird takes shape... just a silhouette for now.]

Yeah, except our houses came with us.

[ dave's trying to figure out what kind of bird it is... ]

Like straight up ripped out of the ground with us.

[It is vaguely bird-shaped... Yusuke may not have decided on type of bird yet. It has a sharp beak, though, for all that it's just a silhouette yet.

Maybe it's a hawk or eagle...]

Oh. I suppose that is helpful, in some respects?

It certainly made lunch easier once we were inside, maybe. We were only in that stage of things for like a day for everyone else anyway...

[ HAWK!! dave guesses but does not say aloud ]

[GOOD GUESS!! It's becoming more and more hawkish, posed as though it's flying out of the woods toward them... with Yusuke's flair so it's not a realistic hawk by any means, more his interpretation of one.]

Have you gone far from there by now...?

Another universe away. Like, not even counting this jump.

Do you like drawing wildlife in particular?

[bufudyne]

Not in particular. I often draw more abstract pieces which I enjoy theming around human nature, but I've done sceneries as well... all are my own interpretation of them.

[Everything is good though all art is good all subjects.]

So what's your favorite piece you've ever done?

...It was one I completed recently. A piece that shows that there is hope and light to be found even in the dark and twisted desires of people.

[He visibly softens as he thinks about it... It took a whole social link to finish it it's very important.]

It is a little difficult to describe how it looks because of the nature of the piece... but it is an explosion of light against a backdrop of dark, swirling colours.

...It's too bad I can't see it.

But I like your Chroma-specific pieces so far, too.

He made it so that the perspective looks as though the bird is flying straight from the forest toward the viewer. And he proudly shows it to Dave before he sets to caaarefully working the page out of his sketchbook.]
