Er, well. I get sent on stealth mission. A lot. They just don't always... end as stealth missions.
[He is not great at it, Yusuke. He's much better at the less subtle side of things. Explosions? All out brawls? Flying his fighter round shooting everything? That's more his speed.]
no subject
[He nods, completely comprehending... he's mentally comparing Keith to someone he knows from home, though he has a higher opinion of Keith. FOR NOW!!]
...Would you be interested in learning a few things? I am no complete expert, but I believe I would be able to give some tips.
no subject
Any tips you could give, I'd appreciate.
[Because he could really use all the help he can get in this arena. Kolivan would probably appreciate it too, because goodness knows he's probably given up on that aspect by now.]
no subject
Let us talk about... [He glances around, scrutinising their space closely, before he nods once.] ...entry, and determining a route. I learned right away that it was important to locate hiding spots.
What's more, there are ways to move quieter.
no subject
[Keith is totally taking notes. Except, you know, mentally because he didn't bring anything to write with. But he is paying attention.]
So do you check a place out in advance if you can?
[He doesn't always have that chance, but he can at least usually get basic schematics.]
no subject
[Yusuke nods to himself as he explains, obviously thinking back on his thiefy adventures.]
no subject
Right, at least having some idea what you're getting into. If possible.
[Also not always possible. Keith purses his lips as he considers it.]
Okay. So... think I can get a demonstration?
no subject
[He approaches them, glancing back over his shoulder to assure Keith's following. He breathes out, letting his mindset change into the one he has to assume when doing this at home. When very much is on the line.
He lowers his posture, his steps sliding more than falling, and he moves fast, almost darting to a hidden position, keeping low so the railing masks him.]
no subject
[Keith follows along, walking close behind him. ...huh. Wow. Okay. Keith stops at the top of the stars to watch him.
Oh. Oh that's actually quite impressive isn't it?]
Wow. Okay... so...
[Keith will nod to himself.] That's impressive. Here, let me try.
no subject
[Yusuke shifts so that he has a better angle to watch him, stay out of the way, and take account of what he's doing... the better to give pointers afterward!
It's a bit of role reversal, especially where Keith was teaching him not long ago. He smiles a little under his mask, there though reserved.]
no subject
But he makes it to the bottom of the stairs, frowning at himself.] ...not great, huh?
[He can do better. He wants to do better.]
no subject
[Yusuke doesn't believe in empty flattery, either, so the words are serious and honest.]
I had noticed before, but your movements are so smooth I have been a bit envious. Your fighting style is beautiful. [he meant to mention that before actually but good he got around to it] You're not used to being as stealthy as I am.
Let us practice more. Slightly different, this time.
no subject
Oh.
[A compliment. That's...] Thanks.
[He's not flustered really. Except maybe just a little. But okay. So the Blade training has definitely shaped him into what he is, and he seldom thinks about it much
So he can try to think better and see if he can improve his stealth. With Yusuke's help.]
Okay, teach away.
no subject
How about, this time, rather than I demonstrating and you following we each try to sneak past the other?
[Yusuke's eyes seem to gleam a little through the holes in his mask. This is the first time he's doing something like this, it feels like it's going to be fun.]
I believe there is more to be learned trying and failing rather than solely from practice.
no subject
[Compliments are hard that can't be right at all.]
Works for me. Learn by doing, I like it.
[Keith can get on board with that. Trial and error and pointers, sure. Keith is actually quite excited.]
no subject
[Sound good, Keith? Yusuke adjusts his mask, the fox tail attached to his belt flicking as he turns toward the front door.]
no subject
[...it sounds fun actually. Is that weird? It does though. He's looking forward to it, and for once he's not bothering to hide this fact.
...he is also looking at that tail. Why Yusuke. Does that help with your stealth? Or is it just there to be absurd and cute?]
no subject
[He looks back and he spies it... that he's distracted as Yusuke leads the way...
Are you looking at his tail, Keith?? Because it's absolutely only there to be absurd and cute and to wag sometimes for no reason.]
no subject
...sorry. I just...
[yeah. He's looking at the tail. It umm. It's a tail. ahem. Eyes back up and he manages to look sheepish.] So. ...let's pick a good building.
[And not get distracted by the tail that randomly wags it's fine.]
no subject
[BUYS IT but he noticed. Yeah. He's sorry about the tail, Keith, he didn't pick it out or anything. It just came with the getup.
Yusuke leads the way, pausing in front of a building.]
Here. There are a few different entrances... so more options for planning your route in and trying not to be noticed.
no subject
[But it wags, Yusuke. It wags.
Anyway, he takes a look at the building Yusuke's sighted.] Sounds good. So... how do we do this? One of us heads in and the other tries to sneak past?
[Or sneak in and hide and then a grown up game of hide and seek?]
no subject
Exactly. I will not tell you where I am going to be, so you'll have to take finding that into account when you're planning your entry.
[He smiles. DO YOUR BEST, KEITH.]
no subject
Right. Got it.
[He will do his very very best, Yusuke. For now he inclines his head.] So head on in. I'll give you a few minutes, and then I'll see what I can do.
{With his sneaking. Yeah. This sounds like quite a bit of fun, actually. Keith is excited, and it shows, by the way he's more on his toes than anything, definitely ready to get going.]
no subject
[With that, and another smile (playful almost, excited himself) and he heads into the building. He spends a moment or two looking around before he heads up to the second floor.
He will just set himself up here, recalling where enemies used to patrol and how back when he was sneaking into places.]
no subject
Then he'll slip in through the attic window, unlatched and easy enough to push in silently.
And then it's a matter of making his way down, slowly. Trying to be patient, to keep to the balls of his feet as he creeps down old staircases, listening for some sound or sign of where Yusuke is.]
