Even when the starry sky dissolves at dawn
WHO: Literally anyone and everyone
WHERE: The Town
WHEN: May 3rd, evening
WHAT: The town's regained both some aspects of evening and a starry night sky. Stargazing is clearly in order.
WARNINGS: All that good pure cute, probably.
The town is just a little bit different today. Color has returned to some objects, even phenomenon, and it has left others. Slowly but surely, things are changing.
In some cases, very big things are changing.
Maybe someone looks out a window, maybe they're out late in the evening. At around 6pm, the sky takes on it's normal hue, just for a moment. And later, as darkness falls....
The stars blink into existence, one by one.

Gotta name this log "two dudes who cry a bunch"
Caramia found himself frozen in place. Even his shaking seemed to halt, which was truly an accomplishment on it's own. Naturally, this lion had been more tuned to this sort of comfort and affection. Hugs and hand holding were great, really, and boy did Caramia adore it, but this was... something he instinctively could react to. It wasn't until Caramia realized the stillness had caused the disgusting tears to stream down his face did he yank backwards, wiping his sleeve along his eyes. How embarrassing. Dextera really had this awful habit of always catching Caramia at all of his lows. It's a surprise he didn't hate him yet.
What a mess. He was supposed to be the one comforting Dextera. Why couldn't he do anything right? ]
G... Grazie. [ It didn't feel right thanking him like that, but he didn't want to say "sorry" anymore. ] But, I-I really am okay. [ Or... he will be. Once he can go find his pendant again. ]
LET THEM CRY
[ dextera exhales, quietly.
it's any number of things, potentially, but it comes down to the reality that after the panic subsides, dextera is pretty all right at being the steady force of calm that some people need. caramia has helped, in a weird roundabout way, and of course dextera would never begrudge him for crying. that's the whole reason caramia approached him, in the first place! it would be nothing short of hypocritical.
so dextera pulls back too, using caramia's own handkerchief to wipe his tears, and then presses that fabric back into caramia's hand with a soft, patient expression. he's wordless, this time, even by dextera's standards of communication, but he just wants to let caramia get to his own sense of calm here. ]
No, illegal.........
He was supposed to protect people. He was meant to be a leader. He was meant to be someone people looked up to. He was the goddamn King of the Jungle. And yet...
His thoughts halted when he felt his tears being wiped away. Dextera just got a very frazzled stare in response for a moment, until he finally moved himself to put away the handkerchief. Right! No more of this negativity. He could deal with these thoughts later. He needed to... not almost have a breakdown in front of his friend. ]
I'm okay...! [ He assured, a third time, though at this point, it sounded more like he was trying to convince himself. ] I should... get out of your hair, huh? [ Translation: I should get going before I dig this hole more. ]
no subject
they don't have to say anything. just silence is fine, as long as it's a meaningful silence—one where they can look at the stars together, and maybe come up with that wish that started this whole catastrophic series of emotions. ]
