[Minato doesn't have another word to say, then; there's no reason to drag it out. Instead, he flips the Evoker up to his temple, and in the same smooth motion, he pulls the trigger.
And above him hovers orpheus, as simple as that, even as Minato lowers the Evoker again.]
That's... how I summon my Personas.
no subject
He coughs a few times.]
Ahh...excuse me.
[Something about this is just...well he doesn't want to think heartbreaking but...]
Do you mind if I take a look at the gun?
[It does look like a gun.]
no subject
Inspect it as you like, Nanjo; he has no reason to hide it, or try to keep it from him.
He just knows that somehow... he needs to learn how to summon his Persona without it--eventually.]
no subject
I see...so they found a way to instill fear to the user for each summon. [He looked back to him.] That's how it happened to all of us - the notion that we'd be killed without a way to fight back is what awakened our Personas the first time...well that and Philemon bestowing them to us. I wonder if...
[He stops when his hands go over the bluish area, and the energy that it emits.]
...this is...how odd.
[Sorry Minato, he may be slightly geeking out in his own way here. Well if one could be both interested and slightly disgusted at what the Kirijo group had done.]
Do you mind if I...try it?
no subject
A mask to face the hardships of the world with, Igor had said, after all.
Quietly, he just shakes his head.]
I don't mind. Go ahead.
[Pull the trigger, Nanjo-- no I'm joking.
But also like. Yeah, it's not as easy as he makes it look.]

[Because that's what you say when you're about to point a gun at your head. Before catching himself, Kei realizes he's already sweating at the very idea. He knows it's not real bullets and yet there's something primal about the fear that builds up in mind. His mind flashes back to the hospital and when they were attached by the zombies. Images fill his mind and then he--
--He pulls the trigger. His head snaps to the side briefly, as the effect is near identical to his normal summoning, but it seems more violent as the energy rises from his side rather to the ground, like a splatter of blood. Who appears on the other hand, however, was not who Kei had planned. But images of those memories would trigger an unconscious shift, and looking back, he honestly should have seen it coming.
It wasn't a Persona that Minato had seen before.]
Young Master! Is something wrong?
[Kei wordlessly shakes his head, even as he gives the summoning item back to Minato, hands slightly trembling.]
I'm fine...
[If this is aimed at Minato or the Persona, one can only wonder. It stays there briefly before finally disappearing. The expression on Kei's face is bittersweet and a few seconds linger on before he speaks again.]
To think you must do this each time. There's a difference between both ways that I can't quite explain. Maybe I could try teaching you how to it like I do.
no subject
But honestly, Minato's far beyond reacting to weird Personas at this point; he just patiently waits, watching Nanjo summon and the Persona's appearance, quietly.
He doesn't say anything as he takes the Evoker back, holstering it again, and:]
... If I can learn how, I'd...really like that. [Obviously, he doesn't like shooting himself in the head.] This was the only way I knew it was even possible, until this place.
no subject
[And if he knows Mitsuru's promises, Kei's are also absolute. He WILL find a way, or die trying. Which, considering this world and the subject matter...somewhat fitting.]
With that said, let us continue the task at hand.
no subject
But.
He does, even so, and Minato blinks slowly--and then sighs, head dipping.]
... Thank you. I... really do appreciate it. I'll do my best to learn.
no subject
He takes the briefest time to smile again.]
I won't go easy on you.
[And now back to their task at hand. The sound of more geese nearby was promising and indeed it would prove to be fruitful - about twenty or so honking at each other or simply trying to look for food in the forest's ground.]
no subject
So he nods, and squares his shoulders, taking a deep breath. A task for tomorrow. Something to focus on later. (A hope for the future--apparently, he can still have those.)
For now? Geese. Minato pauses and blinks at them. Damn...
And, softly:]
Look at them all...
I'm gonna roll to see how many geese he'll put to sleep, Hypnotic Wave has a 44% chance
We only need ten, don't we? With a bit of chance on our side, I should be able to catch enough with a single spell.
[He looks back at Minato, nodding.]
Let me know when you're ready.
perfect, rngsuccess
Either way, yeah--that gets a firm nod. Shame he doesn't have any status spells like that, really.]
I'm ready. Go for it, Nanjo-san.

GEESE SUCCESS - A GEESCESS IF YOU WILL
Only one of his
PokemonPersona knew how to do that and it was someone quite close to him - Minato had just seen him a few minutes ago. The bluish glow began once again, and the surfboard butler appeared behind him before moving forward towards the geese. The advantage of floating was that no one could hear you until it was too late.Mimicking Kei's movements, the Persona raised an arm and for a few brief seconds, a glowing greenish energy descended down on the geese. Some managed to get away, quickly taking flight, and trying to attack the Persona, while others simply fell over to the ground, taken in by the sleeping spell. Kei's Persona disappeared so that the geese couldn't attack it, and some of the surprised creatures took off, leaving them with only a few. He looked back at Minato.]
We need to attack them with a spell that will barely harm them so they can move away...
that's terrible
[Minato lifts the Evoker to his head immediately.
In truth, he doesn't have a lot of spells at this point that don't do much damage--but he has Orpheus, and that trusty Persona doesn't really pack much of a punch.
And he doesn't aim for the geese, so much as nearby them: the agi spell leaves them with singed feathers, but quickly scares them away, causing the rest of them to take flight with a very fussed amount of honking.
Sorry, geese.]
It was a wild Goose Chase
[That's far better than what Kei would have done otherwise (summoning a persona to wack them...probably would have made them a lot more angry.
Now they have eleven geese (with the one they had gathered before) and a limited time to bring them back. The energy under him gathers once more and a muscular 6-hand Persona appears before him, holding its sword with one hand so it could grab five of the sleeping geese, being careful not to awaken them.
Truthfully when they weren't being little honking annoyances, they had a certain, simple charm to them, especially when cradled in the arms of a giant Persona.]
That's as much as I can carry. I could bring one myself as well, if needed.
no subject
It's okay. I can also--
[Chi You is the Persona he summons, Evoker at his temple. It has more than enough arms to grab another 7 of the things--which properly brings them to 12. Nice.]
That's enough, right?
shall we submit this as successful?
That is sufficient, yes. We can carry all eleven of them back in a speedy maneuver before the spell stops working, or the other birds come back.
works for me!
Let's do that as quickly as we can, then. I don't want them to wake up like this...
