It is. I admittedly got the most powerful one on purpose. It can speed up quite considerably in a very short amount of time. Sadly, it is harder to do so in this world.
[There's not as many well-paved roads, after all.]

That is a shame, indeed. Not being able to put this kind of power to good use... it must be very hard to resist.
[ Maybe not unlike certain other powers, too. But shh. Now that the engine has been properly warmed up, it's time to get this baby going!!
... or he would, but he's too much of a Pleasant Boy to do the reckless thing and drive to his heart's content, so instead he does it the responsible way: he tries power walking the bike first, lets the clutch out until the bike starts pulling itself forward, all the while keeping it steady with his feet. It's a good way to find his balance and not risk any damage-- to himself or the borrowed vehicle.
A few more tries, and he manages to completely pull his feet off the ground, keeping the bike upright for a short distance. Hmm, not bad! ]

You're doing well...try giving it more power once you feel like you're ready.

With the bike still on neutral, he pulls back on the throttle to get a better feel for it, figure out how far he should go to keep it going at the desired speed. Okay, easy enough. Time to shift into first gear and watch it roll forward, in a straight, smooth line-- and there would be barely any swerving, if this rocky pathway was a proper road, but even without favorable conditions, it doesn't look like he's about to fall or even let the bike stall. He's fairly confident, too.
See, it pays off to find his balance first! Now, if only he could really speed it up a notch... ]
Sorry for the late tag!
You're learning quickly. The roads here make it difficult to move, but don't worry too much about the bike; it was made to withstand harsh terrain.
[To think just three years ago, there would be no way this reaction or allowing strangers to ride his bike would be possible. Kei gave it a brief thought, a small smile on his lips before returning to a more neutral look.]
it's fine!
I didn't want to ask too much of your generosity, but if it really is fine with you, I shall give it another try.
[ Another nod later, Akechi is off again-- and this time, he speeds up quite a bit, enough that he has to shift gears, once, twice, having quickly picked up on the controls. Balance-wise, he keeps up in a perfect straight line this time, except at the end, where he decides to risk a curve so he's once again facing Kei's direction. It's not flawless, but still a rather smooth maneuver.
Finally, he rides all the way back to Kei, slows down just at the right time so there are no abrupt halts or any stalling. ]
So, did I do any better this time?
[ Praise him, Nanjo. Praise him. ]

Yes. Especially when you are letting go of your worries, if only briefly.
[He means worries about damaging the bike. Or is he?
But hey, that is praise.]

I'm glad I got this chance. [ He nods, and his smile widens-- because he is polite, yes, but he has to admit this has been genuinely fun. If only he could find a proper road and speed up to his heart's content... ]
But, I'm afraid I have imposed enough as it is. And I believe you would rather conserve your fuel, correct?
Edit: I submitted the lesson as completed! I'll let you know what socks they get
It is the unfortunately reality, yes. I'm glad it was nearly full when it appeared here. Perhaps if it was magical in some way, that would make things a lot easier. I consider this lesson worth the fuel used, however, especially if you enjoyed it.
