I'd like to creep into the wood And see the bonnets blue, And hear the bluebells ringing loud, I wish I could -- don't you?
t's another day, another month, and another time for people to show up in the well. You'd better go rescue them! Never mind the fact that you woke up with a flower in your hands.
It's probably fine. Don't mind it at all. It's not like it's hard to ignore a little flower.
(At least, not until the effects start to kick in. Better go rescue the people in the well before they do.)
Oh, right. Even the people in the well have flowers, so... things are going to be a little ridiculous very quickly, when all of those side effects kick in. Have fun!

[The moment he hears that name he turns his head away, letting the fall of his hair hide his face. Why? Maybe it has something to do with the way his ears have turned red all of a sudden.
[For once, Wei Wuxian didn't actually do anything too out of line. He's just embarrassed because Wei Wuxian told him he liked cold and aloof people because underneath all that they have a good heart.
And he asked Wei Wuxian to say it again. When they're not under the influence of the flower. There is really no part of that interaction that he didn't wish hadn't happened.]
Well...I don't know what exactly he may have done with you, but I feel reasonably confident that "yes" is still an accurate answer. He didn't get you into any trouble, did he? Or embarrass you, maybe?
[Because he nearly kissed Wei Wuxian. It was a ruse to steal the flowers from him and not a kiss but he'd fallen for it. Even just remembering how that entire thing played out was enough to make him die of embarrassment.
He pressed his mouth into a thin line and looked at Xie Lian from the corner of his eyes. It really...wasn't anything anyone needed to do something about though?]
He didn't bother me.
[Then again, he'd have said the same of someone who'd stabbed him so.
But really, Wei Wuxian was just...a lot.
He looks away again.]
He mentioned that this place is ruled by fairy tale conventions.
It is, yes. Have you seen the library yet? It's filled with storybooks, many of which have actually come true in some form or other. I've found myself in a dress more than once, because of it. Then there was the time people changed into frogs, and the the strange thorns that put people to sleep...there's always a solution though, thankfully, so I do advise reading those books when you have the time.
[He's...not gonna go into detail on the frog thing, but it was definitely a memorable event, at least.]
[His expression darkens at the mention of dresses. But otherwise he doesn't say much about it.]
I haven't yet. [He intended to! But books are one thing, actual experience is another...
He almost doesn't want to ask this question, but if Wei Wuxian had been telling the truth about--about those things being a common solution to the problems here then at least he hadn't been duped that badly.
He feels his expression is perfectly schooled. After all, this sort of question wasn't suspicious at all in the context of their current conversation!
So, as long as one doesn't notice the way he pauses, or the way he's deliberately not looking at Xie Lian when he asks the following question there's nothing suspicious at all about the way he asks:]
[..............Wifi suspicion levels have risen once again. He can't help the faint blush that appears at the question, or that temporary sudden freeze.]
.....Well. They, ah...they sometimes do, yes. I'm not sure I'd say it was often, though I'll admit it's more often than I'd like, but there's, er, there are quite a few stories with entirely unique solutions, I assure you!
[Completely unaware of the potential damage he's doing to Wei Wuxian's reputation, he's just glad that he hadn't been completely duped. It helps that he misses the blush since he isn't even looking at Xie Lian.]

Er.

Wei Wuxian...that was--!]
..we've met.
[And that's all he planned to say about it!]

He's quite an experience, isn't he? I don't think he means any harm though, despite everything.
[He has no idea what sort of first meeting these two had but that doesn't stop him feeling sympathetic with the newbie.]

Is he always...like that?

...he didn't do anything like that.
[Maybe he'd said it to embarrass him later, but...he'd helped him in the end hadn't he? After he'd nearly...
His blush got worse.]

..................You don't need to say it if you don't want to. [A pause.] But if he really bothers you, we can always try to do something about it.
[wifi what did you do...]

...I see. I suppose I have some reading to do.
[That's fine. He enjoys reading.]
