I'd like to creep into the wood And see the bonnets blue, And hear the bluebells ringing loud, I wish I could -- don't you?
t's another day, another month, and another time for people to show up in the well. You'd better go rescue them! Never mind the fact that you woke up with a flower in your hands.
It's probably fine. Don't mind it at all. It's not like it's hard to ignore a little flower.
(At least, not until the effects start to kick in. Better go rescue the people in the well before they do.)
Oh, right. Even the people in the well have flowers, so... things are going to be a little ridiculous very quickly, when all of those side effects kick in. Have fun!

Maya blinks slowly, surprise morphing into outright confusion. That's not really a request she would have expected from him, and for a minute, she wonders if she'd even heard him right.
"Sorry, did you say... leave you? Are you feeling okay?"
"I did say that. And... no, I cannot say I am well. I have been cursed by the town, but this behaviour is still shameful. Forgive me, Maya-dono." He bows deeply in apology, even as he grinds his teeth in frustration. "However I must again ask you to leave, before I unintentionally drive you away."
"You... you are too kind, Maya-dono." But indeed, if there is anyone he can divulge his full situation to, it would be her.
"But please understand, one of the flower's curses is making me long for absolute solitude. Although I know you mean to help me, your presence also ... makes me anxious." Something that he clearly hates to admit, as shown both through his tone and his expression.
And his posture slumps even further as he continues, "As you have likely deduced, the other curse has stricken my strength and courage."
"Mmm... so it's the flower's fault." She'd seen quite a bit of chaos going around, thanks to these pretty little flowers, but this is the first time Maya's found herself so weirdly thwarted. Still, she thinks, there has to be a way around it.
"So then, what if we find you a flower that counteracts that? Like, a flower that makes you braver! Then you might feel more like yourself, right?"
Despite her good intentions, he sadly shakes his head.
"That is a good idea. However, I cannot trust the town. For instance, if I wished to convey the message of strength and courage, I would give edelweiss. However upon touching the flower I was cursed with symptoms of the opposite meaning..."
He hesitates, not wanting to further disagree with her, but after a moment continues, "And... I was thinking... with so many people here being from different worlds, who knows what meaning any flower might have now?" He shakes his head again. "It is too risky. I can ...endure this curse."
"Ah-?!" Tonbokiri starts back from the flower suddenly thrust at him. "M-Maya-dono, you should be at least a little concerned... Why are you carrying cursed flowers with you?"
And he frowns at the flower in her hand. "Although you say it is giving that effect, I still am afraid to trust it..."
Tonbokiri stares at the flower with a downcast expression. It could work. Or it could make things worse.
His expression then tenses. Any other time, he knows he would agree that they should at least try-- His hand reaches out for the flower-- And his fingers grip at air. He breathes out in frustration.
"Ah-! Forgive me, Maya-dono. This one is so ashamed, he could break right now. But the fear of the unknown is halting me."
And now, he is also afraid that Maya-dono will give up on him.

"But I think leaving you alone is just a bad idea. You're clearly not in your usual state, like you said."

"This one's been making me completely unafraid of anything-- so if nothing else, it might make you feel a little more like you again."

Maya beams, continuing to hold out the flower.
"Besides, if nothing else-- we can say we tried! If you don't feel any better, you can hand it right back to me."
